    Hi All, just thought I'd let you know that there is now an option to download your RAW images on Snapbridge!! Just select this option in the downloads section, rather that auto downloads of the 2MB jpegs.

    Just started using Snapbridge. I wanted to use it mainly as a remote shutter release, but there's just way too long a delay between pressing the shutter and taking the shot. Absolutely useless for wildlife photography.
    However, I've found that if I come out of wi-fi and go into Bluetooth mode, the result is a helluva lot faster as a shutter release, and can still focus remotely too. Also works with the U1,U2,U3 modes too!

      Well the is odd! My above message was regarding the Z30. However, switching to the Z50 it doesn't work, just the laggy wi-fi mode. Weird!

      @@geoffgibbsguitarist Snapbridge is definitely temperamental sometimes. I wish Nikon would invest some more time and money into this app!

    • @geoffgibbsguitarist
      @geoffgibbsguitarist ปีที่แล้ว

      To clarify, I wrote to Nikon about this, Nikon's reply was that the Z50 was released in 2019, and the Bluetooth shutter release option in Snapbridge wasn't implemented until later, Adding that they 'may' think about adding it in a future firmware update.

    Did you found the feature that send the photos to your phone while you take the photos? I’m actually using Nikon z6 and can’t find that feature … in my other camera the Nikon coolpix P1000 I enjoyed that feature , while I was taking the pictures they were immediately transferred to my iPhone

      Did you find the feature? In SnapBridge it's by activating the "auto download" feature. It will then automatically download a 2 megapixel version straight to your phone after each shot (the quick pic). Really handy feature.

    I do all my transfers through snapchats but I have a quick question. The reason Snapchat downloads Raw pictures to my iPhone fairly slowly seems to be rather obvious when I consider the size of the file but it seems to frequently suddenly quit after downloading some of the files and tells me the connection has been lost. I have found a rather primitive way around it...just move a few files at a time. Is there anything I can correct to allow me to transfer longer sets of files?

    Reaction time between hitting the shutter button and the camera actually taking the shot is very very laggy. There is also no ability to burst shots. Helicon Remote is far better as it has burst mode but have had real issues getting it to connect to wifi on the D850. Really think Nikon should do a far better job on this app.

  • @haley358

    can you shoot burst shots using snapbridge? also can you use the app as a Bluetooth remote shutter release only without the WiFi connection? And I noticed it loose WiFi connection when I send snapbridge to background on my phone. It can be annoying. Is that how it's supposed to be?

    Thanks for the video! This is for Nikon: I just purchased the Nikon Z7ii, and I expect WAY more functionality than this app offers. There is close to no functions in this garbage app. I am expecting to access full menu functionality - You should be able to put the camera on a stand and do absolutely anything without touching the camera. Also it should be possible to taylor the app so YOU can pick the functions / settings you use the most, instead of the minuscule, random selection this app offers. Also; No one needs your tiny jpegs btw. Now I have to look for a third party app to do what Nikon should have offered. Been a Nikon fan for a long time, please don't drop the ball on your customers feet here Nikon.

    I don't find wireless file transfer that useful. It's not that hard to use a card reader. The most useful feature for me is being able to remotely control the camera. Focus, f-stop, shutter, WB (only basic settings - no A2, A1 or presets allowed).

    I've worked tech support for a number of years and have a S22 Ultra and Z8. First, let me say that the camera is astonishingly excellent. Snapbridge is garbage. I can connect the bluetooth, but not the wifi. BT connectivity is sporadic...sometimes it's fast, sometimes it times out after 2 minutes. What a shame that Nikon can't get it together and actually produce a piece of software that works quickly and easily. The controls are also a little odd. It's as if they want you to explore the space instead of getting to the action. Grade A trash. The pentax app with my old K-70 is much better. Maybe hire some pentax software engineers and get this fixed.
