    This idea that you will see clearer right after surgery is a two edge sword. I just finished my second eye in October and both times after surgery I saw very well at distance right after leaving the operation room. By the next day I was seeing 20/20 in each eye and have ever since. I wore the patch over my eye at night for a week and had to put drops (3 different meds in one bottle) in for 3 weeks. My wife on the other hand was sent to a different surgeon by our eye doctor and had very different results. For the first 3 days after her first eye was done she could not see anything at any distance. It has now been almost 3 weeks since the surgery and she is still not at 20/20 vision. She has to wear the patch at night for 3 weeks and has to put drops (3 different bottles) in for 3 weeks. She is going for her other eye in a few weeks, hope she has better results than the last one.

  • @Mohan-London
    @Mohan-London หลายเดือนก่อน

    Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, founded in 1804, is one of the world's leading eye hospitals. Before the surgery, Moorfields had given me a booklet in which it said that, as the anaesthetic wears off, my vision may be very blurred and that my eye would usually settle over two to four weeks after the operation. After the operation, Moorfelds bandaged the eye and I slept with the bandage on. When I removed the bandage in the morning, my eye was so blurry that I could barely see. In the first week, the blurriness gradually disappeared. I began to see brilliant and beautiful colours, on my computer screens, and surrounding objects that I had never experienced. My vision also improved considerably in the first week and it is continuing to improve. I have to follow a regimen of putting a drop in each eye from 3 different types of medicine bottles at different intervals and for different durations for up to 6 weeks. The temporary blurry vision and eye drop regimen is a hassle but worth it for the beautiful colour vision that I expect to have for the rest of my life.

So far so good….I have worn glasses most of my life (I’ll be 75 in about 2 months) and now I can see distance WITHOUT my glasses!!!!! Close up I do need readers, which is fine. I MAY need to wear glasses again, once my eyes heal completely…that will be determined a couple of weeks after my left eye is done. I’m ok either way. It’s so exciting to be able to see the tv and writings on the tv without glasses!!!! I feel like a new person. For those on the fence about having cataract surgery….do it!!!! • @TrueFocusEyeCare
      @TrueFocusEyeCare 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm assuming you are talking about an epiretinal membrane. This should be taken into account as for what implant you choose. There is no need to spend a lot of money on the premium lenses becuase the film will reduce your ability to see crystal clear. This being said, if you do have a significant cataract, then removing it will still improve your vision. Hope this help!

Right eye was doing good for a week , then lost my distance vision, went for post op check up , my eye good health. Vision still blurry. Don't want to do left eye because my Left eye is now my better one. I had great vision at night , blurry vision on both in daytime , now right side blurry day and night . Can't drive at night , blurry at night , Blurry at day . Left eye is helping me in both day and night. Bad lens ? I followed instructions to a tee . Please help

    • @TrueFocusEyeCare
      @TrueFocusEyeCare 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I always remind my patients that the goal of surgery is to get rid of the cloudy cataract. Not needing glasses is a bonus, but not guaranteed. After your post-op visits, see your regular eye doctor, and they should be able to give you better vision with glasses. Remember, the reason you needed cataract surgery should have been because your quality of vision was too poor though your glasses, and no improvements could be made by changing your glasses prescription. So now that the cataract is removed you have the ability to clear things up, given that you have healthy eyes. Hope this makes sense!

    How come you can't just use the laser on the cataract, why do you have to get a new lens?

    • @TrueFocusEyeCare
      @TrueFocusEyeCare 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They do use lasers on a cataract to help remove it. You can't use a laser to reshape the lens to a new power like it's done on the cornea in LASIK surgery. A cataract is the internal lens that gets cloudy and opaque enough to block the ability to see. This is why a new lens implant is needed to replace it. If the lens is removed and not replaced by an implant, then you would need glasses as thick as a hockey puck.

    I went to an eye doctor and asked for a eye exam prescription and they charged for for such exams and I asked for the prescription paper and I didn’t bother to look at it when I got home but it was just the receipt. I emailed them multiple times if they could send it over and no response I don’t feel like going in again to ask for it bc I feel like they’re going to try to sell me contacts instead of just hand over the prescription paper

    • @TrueFocusEyeCare
      @TrueFocusEyeCare 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That should not ever happen. You should definitely be able to get your prescription after your exam. It's required by law that eye doctors give the finalized prescription either by paper or electronically if the patient prefers. I would go to the office and ask for the prescription, and if they do ask you about purchasing glasses or contacts, you can simply say, "No, thank you!" Hope this helps!

    At 50 years old, I was diagnosed with cataracts. Due to circumstances in my life, I was unable to get surgery when diagnosed. Two years later, I was completely blind in my right eye and the left eye seemed to be getting worse each week. My entire world was closing in around me as my vision worsened. I had saved money for a year to pay for my out of pocket expenses and was able to get surgery recently. The most painful part of the entire ordeal was pulling the tape off my arm that held the IV in place. I now have perfect vision and it was a life changing experience for me. I believe it was the most rewarding expense I have ever made in my life. I am still in the recovery process but It doesnt feel like recovery, aside from still needing to apply the eye drops. THe only downside is that I can now see how dirty my house has become.

    I'm in my mid-twenties. The doctor mentioned that there is some fluid in my eyes, which I suspect might be cataracts, as I'm experiencing symptoms similar to those of cataracts in my left eye. My vision was almost perfect until this issue suddenly developed. The doctor advised me to wait for another six months to see if the condition worsens before deciding whether to proceed with surgery. I'm also feeling quite worried about the possibility of having surgery, but watching this video made me feel a bit better

    My glasses fog up just from the heat of my face. I sweat a ton and get really hot. Cat crap is what I just got to try since it was the only thing I could find local that said safe for AR coating. I hope it at least helps some as right now it's hard to wear my glasses all day. You think lense maskers would have came out with a anti fog lense by now

    I just had both eyes done and after complications in the first eye I am left with a black hole on my blue iris, and dry eyes that won't go away even with artificial tear drops!

    I had no loss of color as I had a severe, rapidly growing, unilateral cataract. My other eye continued to provide good distance vision and good color. I had mono vision prior to surgery and loved it. If I had to choose between distance focus (both eyes) and near focus as in myopia, I’d take the myopia any day! I hate needing to wear readers.

    My eyes were so bad I had to read with a magnifier and reading glasses together. I was resolved never to drive at night again, and driving during the day was difficult. I had cataract surgery and suddenly had perfect vision again. It's been 4 years since my surgery, and I still am comfortable driving at night. I never used reading glasses again. Cataract surgery was a miracle for me. I thought I would spend my years with declining vision. Instead I feel like a kid again. I'm a believer.
