Dr Pulley Sliders vs Rollers on GY6 Scooters. Tested. CVT Sliders with a Maddog 50
I would not use Sliders. When tuning your Variator, the slider weights are not consistent with the roller weights. Seems like a gimmick to me. Tested back to back on an Icebear Maddog 139QMB 50cc. I test them with the stock variator, the Polini high speed 95mm variator and the NCY performance 89mm variator.

      @tedowen409 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      If you have a welder or someone that can weld the mounts then the 150 conversion is easy enough. The CDI, coil etc... all fits either bike so it will plug into the 50 harness. The 150 has mounts on top of engine where 50s are on bottom so that is the only issue and why you need to weld on mounts.

    You didn't change the cam or valves so you didn't need heavier springs. Also you could have the best porter ever do the work, but the carb or exhaust can't support more airflow. You will not see gains. More air in more air out, more power.

      The fact that you actually used a spacer as a guide is a great way to get consistent port matches. By eye is how you get wonky ports so great job with that. Only thing I would have suggested was under the valve on the short radius of the port, the tight turn can usually use just a touch of smother and the casting rings are usually there, be careful of nicking the seat. Also there is a actual difference in the heads. 64 Mm valve length because of the short valve stem have the valve seat lower than the 69mm valve stem with the taller valve seat. Easy way to tell the difference is top of valve springs will be flush with the valve cover gasket, 69mm valve are just above the sealing surface. 69mm valve stem heads because of the taller valve seat can take more porting to the floor than the shorter 64mm valve heads. 64mm valve stem heads have a lot less material and are easily blown through. There are videos of people cutting the 64 and 69mm valve stem heads in half. So be mindful of which head you are going to port and for why. Otherwise great video buddy 👍 👏 👌

      @@tedowen409 Google 69 vs 64mm valve head should show you the difference so you can see how much you can actually touch up and where you can actually improve the flow. Seeing a cut away actually helps. Another thing I liked to do when I was seriously with the gy6 was use the old cylinder and cut away a pie cut so you can bolt your new head on and check your valve clearance with the cam bolted on and the valve fully opened. Should tell you exactly how much you can shave off the head for max compression. Think old stroke using a wire on the piston to check squish. Same concept except valve clearance and simple way to check the clearance before shaving the head blind. Gasket thickness and since you can bolt cam on and actually get a idea of what cam is actually holding valve open for what and if your high performance cam is actually a performance cam for you. I know it sounds excessive but buddy you are way past simple bolt on and everything now is going to be custom made or modified 😆 🤣

      Ya I had someone else asking about me doing a lighter flywheel. I had a light one on mx bike for a few races but noticed I stalled the engine more so got rid of it. I guess with the CVT it would work good. And seems there is plenty of spinning mass in the CVT to compensate

    not really CVT related, but anyway... i once had a gig pulling billboards with vespa 150s... we had one job, was a week long job, bit of a road trip. not the sort of trip you wanna take on a scooter, let alone pulling trailers! client didnt want to hire a truck... nice little caravan park. about the only good bit. whole week was just a litany of disasters, ended up with a flat rear tyre on the second day... not just a puncture, but absolutely shredded 3 inch gash... in a non scooter area... on a weekend... with no other transport... somehow ended up with a wheelbarrow tyre. all that i could find. 3 inch or 4 inch? i took the four. thinking its closest to 120 profile... na. should have taken the 3 inch. the final diameter of the tyre was enough so fully inflated, would rub on the mudguards. changed the gearing so it could barely crack 80KM.with my scrawny butt on board only... normally it could manage 110 with me and a trailer... 65, 70 MPH? (WTF!?) was a long and slow ride home, i can tell you, with the tyre half deflated... running no tube, despite being a tube-type... the bead seated?

AND ITS CLEAR. no sign of road block or cops or diversion... not even five minutes... WTF? so, stress over finding tyre... sorted. the next morning, leave trailers at park, duck across bridge to shops, get coffee, smokes, check tyre pressure... someone stole the KEYS. not the scooters, no. just the keys... (i always leave my keys in my bikes?) got under the seat, tools, opened the dash, got the ignition switch out. vroom vroom cough. CODED KEYS!!!! all day to find a locksmith... next day to hire a van... neither of us had a full license so that was... tricky. long drive to locksmith. about $1200 all up... then a freak storm with 120km winds had us sitting inside watching TV for the rest of the week. got ONE day doing what we were supposed to do :)

    The reason the front and rear tires have to be mounted opposite directions is because of how the ply is laid and how forces will be exerted on the rubber. (Rear will be mostly acceleration force and front will be braking or deceleration force) I think it more matters on something real fast or heavy lol
