Hey everyone welcome to the Gaming Renewed TH-cam channel! This channel is mainly focused on vlogging my experience creating and operating my online video game reselling business on Amazon and Walmart marketplaces. This channel will show everything from console and peripheral repair, all the way to preparing products to be shipped to either Amazon/Walmart or directly to the customers themselves. Hopefully this helps anyone else looking to get into this and they can avoid many of the mistakes I am sure to make haha.
WORTH IT!? JFJ Pads VS 3D Pads

Yes. I use it for ps4 games all the time. No issues.
Ps3/4 games.
Great error codes explanation video . Greetings from Greece
Greetings! Thanks 🙏🏽. Hope everything is well
Bauer is pronounced like Howard without the D. Think of the show 24. That over with, thank you so much for uploading these.
Also, poor Howard, lost his D. 😢
😭😭😭😭😭
So with this new pad, you don’t have to spray the pad with water or the disc cause it keeps heat down?
I always either spray the pad or the disc itself to help keep heat down and stop the compound from prematurely drying out. I normally spray the disc a couple times for buffing and polishing. I spray the sand paper with water when i sand and not the disc itself. Watch the video on my channel called “Trust the Process” it goes through my process in depth.
@@GamingRenewedLLC OK thanks for the heads up. Sorry about the spelling I was half asleep watching the videos lol should never type while your half asleep
Lol no worries. You got the point across lol.
I thought the white pad was the buffing pad. When I went to look at the machine on Amazon, it doesn’t come with a yellow pad. It just comes with the white pad and the black one.
The white pad you see me using is probably the Bauer brand one. Which is their finishing pad. The JFJ pads that come with it (depending on the kit you buy) are white for buffing, yellow for polishing, and the black pads are to use with sandpaper. The sandpaper just sticks to the black pads.
@@GamingRenewedLLCok thank you for the info
👍
Don't know if you've tried, but I found a technique to buff / repair "Double-sided" disc's with the JFJ.
Never had to do a double sided disc yet. What’s the technique?
@GamingRenewedLLC If you trace a disc onto a paper towel, then cut it out. Place the cutout onto the metal tray to cover it, then lay the disc on that. This prevents one side from scratching and vice versa when doing the other side.
Oh nice tip! If i ever have to tackle a double sided disc i will definitely use that. Thanks 🙏🏽
My time is far more valuable than the $98 for a supply kit/key card. I used jfj for a limited time. 2 machines at once. They are nasty, dirty, data destroying, overheating piles. I now use 2 eco pros, 1 for buff, 1 for polish. I can turn 2 discs in the time it takes to clean that filth off the finish product of a jfj disc. Also, I used aftermarket pads/compound and tryed jfj standard sludge. None can or will get the results an elm will after a minute and a half. Better finish, zero cleanup. I turn 100-150 discs a day now, jfj I was lucky to hit 50 and needed decontamination at end of the day. I do however use the jfj for 10 second sand occasionally, but very rarely. I had the same gripe about the cards and it kept me from taking the leap, I now regreat the hundreds of hours I spent lubing the jfj butthole cream. If you dont like the card... buy the chip duplicator/hack shipped out of the uk, problem solved!
Does the 3D polish not need water on the pads. Doesn’t it create too much heat. I always wet my pads.
I spray the disc with water before i run the cycle. I used to spray the pads but just started doing the disc. Honestly no difference just preference
What if I’m getting swirls from a Sanding paper?
May have to try and clean the sandpaper. Could be debris on it thats causing the swirls.
Thank you for the excellent info, really helpful as I wasn't aware of a superior polishing compound. I also recommend the JFJ Eyecon, very similar machine which looks almost identical to the Ezpro. I use the Eyecon for Dvd's, Bluerays and lightly scratched games. Both machines are excellent.
Good to know. Thanks!
Everybody overlooks the JFJ, but I use it every day to get fantastic results. Great video :)
Thanks! Yea it really is a good machine.
so i put a new piece of light sand paper and new piece of corse sanding paper and the problem im having is the sanding paper is leaving swirls Permanant on the disc im trying to repair cause even if i polish for 2 min the swirls will still be there so i dont sand it and just buff/ polish it will clean it with no swirls. So has anyone had this happen and have a solution?
Did you get the replacement sandpaper from jfj? I have only used their sandpaper.
@@GamingRenewedLLC no i have bauer 600 grit and Hercules 1200 grit. thing is i have used these before with zero swirls so not sure to be honest.
Hmm well there probably is some debris in the sand paper that is causing the swirls. Might have to clean the sandpaper and see if it stops. Which one is leaving the swirls? Also, do you make sure to wipe the disc clean in between sanding cycles? If you don’t wipe the disc then sometimes debris from one cycle can stay on the disc and then cause swirls when you run the next higher grit cycle.
When did you start using a different compound?
Probably by month 2 of having the jfj. Started learning that resurfacing discs was very similar to buffing clear coats and then started looking for better products to replace the jfj stuff. I use the 3D products now and never looked back
@ you like it over the plastix product
Yea. You can get good results with the plastix but it ends up boiling down to personal preference usually. I just like the 3D stuff the best right now. But can’t go wrong with meguairs
I just got my JFJ machine in the mail today (yay). There is a place online called Super Arbor that sells Bauer 6" coarse / medium / fine / finishing pads - $10 each - How long do the pads generally last? I got about 250- mabe 300 discs to do. Ever use the coarse pad for really bad discs?
Never really use the coarse pad because if its that bad its best to sand IMO. Now whether or not the Bauer pad would last through the 250-300 discs you have will depend on the buffing/polishing time per disc. Some can be good with 20secs and some need a full 2min cycle. Just depends. I’d say you definitely will get 200 out of a pad though. Not sure about the full 300 unless you get quite a few 20 sec runs.
@@GamingRenewedLLC That Super Arbor wants $50 for shipping to ship 3 pads - what the heck... I notice Harbor Freight carries Grants brand pads for $9 each
Never used Grant before. Yes $50 they are out of their minds 😂
The sanding process is making my discs unreadable. Went with similar timing. Disc would originally boot but stop working and after sanding and buffing no longer readable. Any recommendations?
Are the discs readable before the sanding/buffing process? Also, what is similar timing? How long are you sanding each grit?
@ yeah they were readable. Did 10 seconds on coarse then 20 seconds on soft. Then buffed with compound. I’m also using the sandpaper that came with the unit.
You spraying water on the sand paper for the sanding cycles?
@@GamingRenewedLLC yes, spraying water as well.
Hmm what pads do you use? Jfj?
Just got the Milwaukees! Can't find the Bauers in Canada though 😢.
Yea apparently the bauers are being phased out from harbor freight down here too 🙁
For someone who is a complete beginner to disc resurfacing machines, I found this video to be very informative. At around 10 minutes in, you actually convinced me that I would be better off buying the Elm Eco Pro 2 and not the JFJ Easy Pro. The reason being is that, as you mentioned, the JFJ requires an element of skill and knowledge. This is not something I will have, being new to this as I previously mentioned. I want to get great, professional results right off the bat and not go through a learning curve. I don't mind paying a premium for great results but that's just me.
Yea that’s actually the perfect use case for Elm. Great machines. If you ever can step up to the next machine tier you also don’t have to worry about minutes anymore too. Plus that machine does sanding as well, instead of just buffing and polishing like the entry level Elm machine.
@@GamingRenewedLLC If I was going to get really serious about refurbishing my CD/DVD collection, I would probably buy the Eco Senior II. What's your view on this machine?
Is that one called the eco auto smart 2 in America?
@@GamingRenewedLLC I did a quick search online and I believe it is. The front is blue with the letters ECO engraved on the front.
Oh ok. And it looks like a long cylinder? If so, yea those are amazing. Plus you don’t have the minutes keys with those
Does your top circle plate has a "wobble" when you spin it?
No it shouldn’t wobble. Maybe slightly but it shouldn’t be drastically noticeable. If it does, then you will get bad results due to uneven pad contact. You can purchase a replacement plate from jfj.
Nice thorough video...I have few hundred games and cds to go through and list on ebay. I am impressed with the results. Ebay has consumed my soul / house is a warehouse of stuff / tons of projects but also all these discs setting around too :) I don't even have time to play games in my collection.
Lol 😂 i know the feeling except mine is Walmart. Funny how repairing the games and just tinkering with this stuff can sometimes feel almost as good as playing them lol.
Hey Renewed, how do you trim the pads? silly question I know but I am a beginner.. HF has the white pads but only in 7inch as they are out of stock on the 6inch
I just use a big pair of scissors. I trace an outline on the pad using the jfj one first, then cut
@@GamingRenewedLLC Thanks for the reply! As far as the pads go, do you have alternate ones? the HF ones are no longer available.
I just got two other pads to try out. Still working to get a video out on them. Just been swamped because of the holidays
They don’t have your link to the pads anymore so do I do 7in pads instead?
You can. Just a bigger cut is all
@ okay thanks
OK no problem
You videos are my source of information for the JFJ. I picked up some new pads from a local hardware store (unfortunately not the Bauer) I haven’t done PS1 discs because I was afraid of ruining them. PS1 disc get scratches from even the slightest breeze they are so delicate.
Yea the black back ps1 games are always a headache to deal with. Happy you are getting some value from the videos!
Thank you so much for this video! I just bought an used xbox one x and it crashed during an update. Couldn’t update it from the thumbdrive at first but thanks to your video I manage to save this console
Happy it helped! 🙌🙌
Okay I am new to your video. I been using JFJ for about 5 years. I can make a xbox 360 disc look like an elm eco master hit it, but when I do PS2 games OMG..always swirly central, cat scratching board, skateboarding on disc, or somebody's little baby used it as a chew toy. I am going to try your set up. and sub to you youngster. I will see if this will give me the edge on those PS2 joints. Thank you and have a great day!
Lol yea the PS2 games can be tricky. I found that good product and pads are the key to mastering those. The JFJ stuff just doesn’t seem to like the PS2 games. Hope the video ended up helping!
I've bought FF8 twice now. The little PSOne refuses to play it for more than 30 minutes. Both games have been resurfaced by the store I've got them from (two different stores). But on the other hand, another older game I have which has not been resurfaced plays flawlessly for... as long as I want. What do you think could be the problem with what I got? The little PSOne is like new and shouldn't be the problem. Under the right angle and light, the small swirls, although very tiny, are there and what could be causing the issue. That is, the game freezing during a screen transition or just straight up game play. Thoughts?
So thats a complicated question because it could’ve been “not save-able” from the start. That spot on the disc could’ve already been too damaged and that’s why even after resurfacing it always stops in the same spot. Sometimes a scratch can get past the surface and actually touch the data layer and that is not fixable. As for the swirls, yes, those could also be causing the issue. Scratches and swirls cause the laser to bounce and distort and that makes it hard to read the disc. This may have been a case that the disc needed to be sanded first, then buffed and polished. Usually after a good resurface there are no swirls, but depending on how bad the disc was at first you might be left with a mirror finish on a non working game lol. That’s happened to me before on really bad discs. Swirls usually come from either not enough product being used or most likely dirty pads. Pads need to be cleaned or else they can start to scratch the discs during the resurfacing. Thats why auto shops blow their pads out regularly as they use them to buff cars. Hope this helps
@@GamingRenewedLLC I'm quite reluctant to buy my own polisher to do one "Final" step to hopefully really clear up those very fine swirls. I've been looking around my local gaming sites to see if they got any such tool in stock, but nothing. So I have also looked at Amazon and Ebay, but reviews on each and TH-cam make them seen like real gambles. I'll just struggle to find a solution sooner than later. I'm not getting those re-makes of the FF8 as they are, not quite the same. Cheers!
Understandable lol. Good luck! 👍
ive watched several of your videos. i have an OG xbox one customer brought it in because it wouldnt update. ive tried every osu with no luck. stays on green screen. and have never been able to get the troubleshooting menu at all. while trying all OSU updates from flash drive im now getting e101. kinda at a dead end road do you have any thoughts?
ive also tested and tried multiple known good hard drives and same error.
Have you done the whole script process yet? Also, what firmware does it say on it?
@@GamingRenewedLLC yes was able to finally get troubleshooting menu and an update installing but just gets stuck on verification then shoots out e100. how do I find firmware version after a format?
Oh no E100 error means someone swapped the disk drive and didn’t install the original daughter board onto the new disk drive. That board is paired with the motherboard and it has to be the original from the factory. No way to pair a new one. There is also a very slim chance the board itself crapped out but very low. Usually the disk drive was put in from another console and they didn’t take off the board to put the old board on the new drive.
I'm getting Code E101 and E106, Followed all your steps, by steps and nothing works. Is it possible my console is locked? My version is 10.0.26100.2499(xb_flt_2410ge.241024-1700) I'm trying to upgrade my xbox harddrive to a SSD 5.2.
You are on the flight firmware thats why. You have “flt” in your firmware version
I notice even if you don't hold the buttons to get into its mode, if Xbox drive isn't updated or has error, it will jump to that screen for you to select usb drive anyway.
Yea it will. This just stops it from trying to update if it’s stuck in an update loop. Also, works for black screen issues on the OG XB1
Do you like the Milwaukee pads better, or the Bauer pads? I just watched one of your videos and you were using the Milwaukee.
The Bauer would be my first choice. Just a slight step above the Milwaukee pads
Thank you for saving me a lot of money!
🙌🙌🙌
Ok, here's how I forced the update with an FLT unit: I own and run a small repair/restoration shop in Montana and took in a One S on trade for another console. This is the first FLT console I have ever gotten and didn't know to check before hand. The HDD was fried and I swapped it with another used 1TB HDD. I plugged in my OSU1 update stick and kept getting an E101 or E106 message. I then stumbled across your video explaining the difference between a "release" version and a "FLT" version (thank you SO MUCH for this knowledge!!!). I then downloaded the newest OSU1 update as mine was a couple of months old now. I did the Xbox One 3 finger salute with the OSU1 plugged in. This is holding the sync button, eject button, and power button. Continue to hold all three down until the second beep. There will be around a 10 second gap between the beeps (just be patient). After the second beep release all three buttons and click on Offine System Update (if prompted). It worked for me first time. I rarely use the "Xbox 3 finger salute" anymore when running the OSU1 on a repaired unit, but trying it this time worked 100%. I checked once I got it setup and it still shows the OS version in FLT mode. I am unsure if that will hurt it during the next update. I am going to hold on to this one for a couple of months to see if it crashes again. I sure wish there was a way to pull it back into the standard release mode. Thanks for your videos, and yes, I did subscribe!
Thanks for sharing this! I am going to try this method and see what happens. Thanks for the support!
@@GamingRenewedLLC One last thing I forgot to mention was when I did all this I had the network cable plugged in. I don’t know if this will make any difference or not, but I forgot to mention that.
Got it! Thanks! 🙏🏽
@@GamingRenewedLLC Did this work?
Holiday season has had me swamped with orders and receiving/listing games so haven’t had time to try it yet. Its still on the to do list though!
Ok I am screwed. Mine says flt and I have no contact to the original owner :/ Thanks, though. At least I know that now.
Sorry to hear that 😪. That is definitely the worst case scenario
@@GamingRenewedLLC an update: I managed to fix it although it is insider program software. It does work fixing it with an offline update. However, since the flt version is usually newer than the OSU1 with the official release, it seems like you have to wait until a full release with a higher software version is available and download the new OSU1. At least that is my theory.
Now i gotta get back to work on my flt one lol
I bought a xbox one s with a bad power switch, replaced that and got stuck on green screen, finally was able get past that to a regular menu but was extremely sluggish so I went to troubleshoot menu and factory reset it, now it won't go to step 3 of update. Stays on 100% step 2 verifying. I tried replacing the hdd. Looks to be flt version
Sorry. Getting a second hand flt console that won’t update usually can’t be fixed unless you can get it unenrolled from the Microsoft skip ahead program. You would need the person’s info that enrolled it to have it unenrolled
I habe the e106 code and I did not try to replace the harddrive yet. Updating with the stick did not fix it. Could replacing the harddrive and going through these steps help?
Watch my most recent video. It will provide better insight on what you need to do
@@GamingRenewedLLC Thanks, I am going to!
Any luck?
@@GamingRenewedLLC Yes, thanks for asking! As I have commented over there, I luckily managed to update the console despite it being in the insiders program :D The other video is a very good overview btw. Were you able to make any progress on your flt console yet?
Sorry 🤦🏽♂️ its hard keeping up with comments at times lol. Not yet, i honestly have been busy ramping up for the holidays and haven’t had much spare time for “tinkering”.
Great video I’m into the same stuff for personal purposes keep it up brother great job
Thanks 🙏🏽 appreciate it bro
I have watched videos that if the problem 101 is repeated, it is a problem with the cable. Sata Is this correct ?
No you could be using the wrong OSU file. Its not always OSU1. It could be OSU2 and then OSU1. Or it could be OSU3 and then 1. All depends on your firmware. Also, if you are in the step ahead program, no OSU file will save your xbox.
The most recent video i did shows how to identify if you are in the step ahead program as well
I have an Xbox One X and I have the same problem and I replaced the hard drive to ssd And I downloaded the file OSU1 I get error 101. I hope you can help me.
Watch my most recent video. I explain all the error codes and when to use which OSU file. Also, you have to use the script for the best results.
I've been really looking into getting a disc resurfacing machine. I was hesitant on the JFJ Easy Pro simply due to the mixed reviews. You have me sold on it, though. With good practices, it's obvious discs can really come out amazing. You definitely deserve more subs, IMO. Great video!
Thanks 🙏🏽 i appreciate it
Hi Would you be willing to put a kit together witn the pads and compounds. I would be willimg to pay you for your time. Im order a machine but i cant find any of the pads locally and its hard to find them online
Have you tried jfjs actual site I'm sure they sell alot of the stuff
They do but their pads are not the best
Hey are you able to order them online and have them shipped?
I'm curious if you have previously had issues with the bauer pads self-destructing during operation? If so, was there any steps you took to prevent this? Also, what does your pad "break-in period" look like/consist of?
I never have but i have had others have this issue. So far each of them had one thing in common. The disc plate on their JFJ has a circle near the edge of the disc plate. They grinded that flush and then it never ate the pad again. JFJ must have put that there to ruin non-JFJ pads at some point.
Great vid, I share these exact same sentiments and it’s the reason I chose the JFJ and also the reason I found your channel. Keep it up bro! (side note: my first JFJ finally came in today, and so far I’ve ran two disks using your methods. SAVED BOTH!! One was a dvd in poor shape - my kids; the other was a XBOX 360 game I played the hell out of). Thanks again bro. 👌🏽💪🏽
Good work 🙌🙌 happy to hear they both came out good 👍
I found the adapter is just $9.99 without the pads. But quick question - why not use the sanding pads for that super scratched GC disc then the buffing pads? Are GC discs too fragile to sand?
Yea i didn’t know about the adapter being sold alone at the time. Wish i had lol. You can sand GC games. I honestly should re-do the video on GC games because i don’t feel it was the best. I need to do one and incorporate sanding as well.
@@GamingRenewedLLC Glad to know GC games can be sanded! I have some that look even worse than that super bad one you did on your GC video! And I think that's the super valuable one in my GC haul! :O Thank you!
Hopefully you can bring it back to looking good!
I've been slowly binging all your videos and have to say, by far, you are my favorite TH-camr who does this kind of work. Hands down! I can't figure out how you only have 317 subscribers [I'm one of them!], but it should be in the thousands. You give great info, down to earth, and show each step. The repetition helps a lot too as I don't yet have the JFJ and I feel I already know how to use it! :) I am bummed one has to have an adapter for the GC games, but it makes sense. I have 100s of game discs to repair, including dozens of GC [and some $150+ GC games]. When I do get this unit and all the supplies, I will be going through cheap old Xbox 360 games first to make sure I get used to the process. I've been selling on Amazon since 2008 and eBay since 2011, though games have mostly been an eBay thing. I assumed Amazon gated most game publishers like they are slowly doing to book publishers [a 10 year out of print book by a certain publisher needs an invoice from a distributor dated in the last 90 days with at least 10 copies of said book - unsure Amazon realizes that finding used books doesn't work like that! ;) ]. I also sell media [DVD/Blu-ray/CD/VHS/etc]. Curious if the steps you've shown in your video need any adjusting for certain media types. Double layer DVD games? Watched a video before this one where you did some PS2 games and started them to make sure they work - you did Grand Turismo 3 and aaaah - you and I have the same feeling about that game - brings back great memories - those graphics were so cutting edge - how could they ever get better? I still have my original PS2 [and PS1!]] and my games and that's one I won't ever sell! :) Again thank you so much for these informative videos. I'm slowly getting the items in my Amazon cart to buy. I think I will go with the Meguiars but since I have neither - is there one system you prefer over the other? Eg: Meguiars vs 3D or 3M? Going to head to Harbor Freight this weekend to get the pads [Bauer - unless you've found something better? I need to binge your videos most recent to older, but sadly I'm not doing that just yet! :) ]. Oh, you mentioned you and a buddy have a review channel - where is that? And your Walmart/Amazon Storefront? I feel like I gotta do something to give back for all the great advice you've provided us!
I really appreciate all the kind words and so happy you found even a small part of these videos helpful. I would suggest going with the 3D products because they do not have fillers in them. The fillers can mess with the discs sometimes. Not often but its best to avoid them if possible. So Walmart doesn’t really do storefronts for sellers like Amazon does. Basically its all just you get the order if you have the best price and best shipping usually. You are fine though. No need to purchase anything from me. I honestly don’t make these to promote sales or anything. I really just enjoy people getting anything helpful from them. Also, yes GT3 is the greatest lol. You are a person of class lol 😂.
@@GamingRenewedLLC If we ever meet, a drink/meal/whatever, is on me! You're far too kind! And also a person of class as GT3 is amazing. You inspired me to get it out and play it a bit the other day. Man...I need to reward myself after Q4 is over, and spend some quality time with that game again! :) Thank you for your 3D suggestion! I will be watching the video where you use 3D and check it out. I really should have done this months ago. :( But I thought I would try the manual method of fixing discs and the time and results were not impressive [tons of time, no real results]. Amazon is a bit like Walmart in that way - nobody really visits sellers' storefronts - they just look to see if the used/new copy of an item is a better price and such. I've never thought about Walmart as an option. I sell on Amazon, eBay, and Bricklink [Lego marketplace only]. Thank you again for all your useful info and recommendations and these great videos. If you ever find yourself in western NC [we got hit pretty hard by a hurricane recently :( ], let me know!
lol 😂 thanks bro. If you end up playing GT3 make sure you do the endurance race to get the Indy car lol. It just may be the most OP thing in a GT game. Hope everything works out for you bro and hope things get back to normal down there in NC. Stay safe
Hi, I have a question about Blu Ray format games, can they also be polished?
I’ve polished ones without any problems and the JFJ says it’s Blu Ray safe.
Can this issue occur if you reset/restart your Xbox too much?
I wouldn’t say so. The XB1 consoles are just weird. It can happen during a regular update or it could during a normal boot up. Normally when they fail it isn’t user error. Just a bad luck of the draw.
@@GamingRenewedLLCAnother question, at 7:52 I type in that and when I press enter, it says “The system cannot find the path specified” what does this mean?
It means either you have a typo in the path name or possibly you didn’t download the script and extract it to the desktop. I have a new video that explains all the error codes and gives a better walkthrough for using the script. Might Be a better help to you
@@GamingRenewedLLCThanks man, I watched your other video and realized it wouldn’t work because my Xbox has that flt thing at the bottom. Thanks for your help!
Dang sorry to hear that. No problem 🙏🏽
Had to come back here to ask a quick question. Do you deal with any hardware banned consoles? I imagine you’d have to dive deep into the motherboard or something to fix it…
Naw I don’t. Never looked into it because normally you have to run custom firmware to try and spoof your MAC address and stuff to fool the servers that it’s not that same console. Can’t sell people custom firmware loaded consoles on walmart lol.
@@GamingRenewedLLC Interesting, thanks for the explanation!
No problem 👍
your vids are awesome, thanks bro
I appreciate the support 🙏🏽
Preciate the vid bruh bruh! 💪🏽
Thanks 🙏🏽
