Damn those wires are messy up there. Just wondering if you guys don’t over lash them to the mainline?
Also the loops we usually do at least 4 loops and zip tied them just in case they change poles or shift the mainline up or down this reminds me of how AT&T do their work here in the US.
Just not how we do it 🤷🏻♂️ way too much work to lash every drop. It’s all done on demand not during the plant build.
Yea I’m not sure. Leaving slack makes sense but this is our protocol.
youre way too comfortable working around hydro lol. My health and safety rep would lose his mind if he seen me that close to hydro.
This is genius. I’m going to copy this for my f150
Thanks, I think it works really well.
hello, no loop near the MST at the pole?
I know how expensive it is. But why not go the extra mile and do it underground? It's safer and more reliable.
I do it all 🤷🏻♂️ I can’t run a drop underground to a house that has aerial utility and vice versa. This area is all aerial. If the builder put a conduit to the pole I would have used that.
@FyBurz our power comes from a pole. Have a tech coming January 6th to install fiber. Supposedly they are going to dig a trench. In my town, ultilities put fiber underground.
Such a clean and detail-oriented installation! You even mentioned the slight RG45 slag wire leading to the Boost 6. Truly impressive attention to detail. Amazing work!
@@f.heravy thank you man much appreciated 🤙🏼
How long did it take to complete this job? How much do you get paid for it. Hourly or production?
@@Mobile-zw1dm umm probably under 2 hours. I don’t discuss rates. If you want to join our discord you might get some of the answers you’re looking for.
What type of blades do you use on the blue jonards drop stripper. Besides the cheap jonards blades? I use the mini utility blades. Stronger last longer and way cheaper than the original jonards blade replacement
@@Mobile-zw1dm honestly didn’t even know it could take other blades besides the jonard ones 😅
Hey bud, I’m about to start my first week in fiber drops and the guy training me has zero aerial in the area (Tampa) great for him but sucks for me as I am being sent to Indiana and in the winter no less lol. I’m super nervous but I know I can do this. Watching a professional at work is going to help me along! I gave you a like and a sub!
Nice dude you got this. Don’t stress take your time and hang those drops.
Means a lot for you to say that. Any tips for working in the snow that I should be aware of? I’m a Florida boy with 9 years field engineering for AT&T and Comcast. This Fiber I&R is for Frontier Communications and all the guys here are Sudanese so language barrier was a thing lol
@ just make sure your ladder has good footing!
@@FyBurz lol that’s advice for all seasons. Thanks
@ yea haha. Winter hazards can be tough to deal with. Just be aware and alert. And dress warm 😅
Some expensive string homie. No need for any special fish when you have easy access to both ends.
Not sure what you’re trying to say 😅
Shop vac with a bag on the end of a pull rope works perfect , it will suck any water in the pipe also ...
Yup a very good method I commonly use. Mainly on longer runs. Rodder is more efficient. And is easier to do on your own. I was prepping the conduit while my guy hung the drop.
Fish tape ?

Snow and trees. If you didn’t re-attach that (no longer code dead end) I’d say snow load wiped the pipe
Ha, this is what happens when your journeyman isn’t a real journeyman… BUT telco techs never follow code so I’d not be pointing fingers.
How are you handling the cold?

Great work brother! Just switched to Milwaukee and this is precisely what I need to organize the packout in the truck. I appreciate this.
Can't believe that there's almost no utility pole around yet you managed to get it done.
What do you mean 🤔I ran the drop along poles
@FyBurz I mean the distance between poles is almost unbelievable
Oh yea, its pretty common here on private property. I’ve done 110m spans. But it’s at customer risk. Over manufactured spec
@@FyBurz while here in my country every telecommunications company has its own utility pole so there's lots of it are unsightly or even blocking pedestrian sidewalk at some area. PLDT, Dito, Globe, Converge, Sky Cable that's the telcos here. The latter also serves cable TV service as well.
@jordansoviet23 they all use their own poles??
Do you have a video explaining how to tighten up the fiber drop using your hand and the clamp? If not could you make one?
@@PERFEkTi0N1 I show it in a lot of videos. Keep watching! 😅

Need to drill a hole and put a machine bolt than slide down never use lug screws just the bottom need that

Are you a sub of AFL or Ledcor and I would assume you are in the trail creston cranbrook
🤷🏻♂️
Why are you not cleaning the fiber with isopropyl alcohol prior to cleaving the fiber
Well I can only say that I have been splicing for over 30 year and to keep your splicer in good working order you should be cleaning your fiber prior to splicing
Definitely good advice.
Why are you not cleaning the fiber with isopropyl alcohol
I think I explain in the video I ran out of wipes. And also it doesn’t impact the fuse at all if the fibre was dirty I’d see it in the splicer. Alcohol is mainly for cleaning gel off loose tube fibre. This isn’t that.
Starting your own isp? 😂
@@btschmieds if only
specs are totally wrong at least that wouldn’t pass here in Cali
No idea how they do it there. But this is the right way here 🤷🏻♂️
The classic NID on the pole. I'd be a liar if I said I'd never done that before.
@@David-vw5hf nothing wrong with really. Can’t do an aerial splice with out a strand. But only on private poles never public.
What ladder rack is that?
Are you primarily using a fast access fibre drop?
@@danielde6405 never heard the term fast access but yes.
What kind of gloves do you use to make these installations when there is snow?
I just use my regular gloves. I always forget the brand but I get them at my local hardware store. Just thin gloves coated with rubber
Just my 2 cents. Reminder to tie your ladder off.
Definitely good advice. Although tying off a ladder rarely does anything to prevent a fall. Usually tie off in windy conditions or wet
This is great! A couple of suggestions: cut the plywood to fit inside the floor mat. It has a lip that will hold the plywood from shifting. There is room for three mounting plates. I have one facing the passenger side and two facing the drivers side. You can cut the plywood where the back seat splits ‘60/40’ and then you are completely modular. You can have 2 stacks and one seat or 1 stack and 2 people. This works very well for me and is completely removable in 30 seconds. F150 is only back seat this kind of layout works in. Avoid the factory fold down under seat storage. The backseat floor is completely flat without it. Cheers!
Thanks that’s a good tip. I haven’t had any issues the way I did it. My truck is usually in work mode 95% of the time. And when it’s not I remove all my stuff from the back and remove the floor panel.
@ perfect! The convenience and security with this kind of setup is top notch! Cheers.
Good

Youre missing the entire center bar. I have the exact same rodder
Dude youre rodder is trash. Also i put a wad of tape on the rod, the lube it up with oil before i send into conduit. Works amazing
Yeah, that's a new one.
That's the nastiest vault I've ever seen. No wonder it was seized. Also, you can split a single drop to a duplex. It's a special rsu.
That’s interesting I don’t think the provider I work for does that
Good work. I’d prefer the conduit would’ve went under the vault in case the vault gets damaged one day and needs to get replaced.
@@Wav10001 a lot of work for something that will never happen lol. I did it to spec
@ you’d think that but I’ve had like 6 vaults on one county highway replaced recently and several more vaults in various places in our system replaced over years. It’s common for riding lawn mowers or the occasional tractor to mess the lids up (especially plastic ones) or for them to collapse from being ran over by heavier vehicles. There are the occasional less common things like road widening projects where the vaults are buried and completely destroyed. If the conduit was ran through the vault instead of under, we would’ve had to destroy the rest of the vault just to get it out of the ground. The other option would’ve been to break a 192ct in several different slack vault locations and install a FOSC at each location.
@ that sucks. I doubt in this instance this will ever happen. It’s pretty far off the road
I'm going to do my own 3000' aerial figure 8 (messenger cable) install on a rural driveway. It undergrounds in conduit for the last 150'. Is it acceptable to underground figure 8 cable in conduit? If not..what would the more acceptable way be?
To be honest I don’t see an issue with using figure 8 underground I could be wrong but there’s nothing inherently stopping you from using it

This is brilliant! It's simple but brilliant. I just bought a new F150 this week, and I did not want to drill holes into the floor of the truck. It never occurred to me to create a 'fake' floorboard like this, which will not damage the truck and is completely removable! Well done! I'll be doing a version of this for sure!
@@davidlittle04 thanks man! Hope it turns out for you 🤙🏼
I’d set the ladder up on the side of the pole opposite to where the drop is coming from on that long drop so you can pull back instead of pulling to the side. Saves your shoulders that way.
