Do you have a video explaining how to tighten up the fiber drop using your hand and the clamp? If not could you make one?

Are you a sub of AFL or Ledcor and I would assume you are in the trail creston cranbrook

Why are you not cleaning the fiber with isopropyl alcohol prior to cleaving the fiber
Well I can only say that I have been splicing for over 30 year and to keep your splicer in good working order you should be cleaning your fiber prior to splicing
Definitely good advice.
Why are you not cleaning the fiber with isopropyl alcohol
I think I explain in the video I ran out of wipes. And also it doesn’t impact the fuse at all if the fibre was dirty I’d see it in the splicer. Alcohol is mainly for cleaning gel off loose tube fibre. This isn’t that.

The classic NID on the pole. I'd be a liar if I said I'd never done that before.
@@David-vw5hf nothing wrong with really. Can’t do an aerial splice with out a strand. But only on private poles never public.
What ladder rack is that?
Are you primarily using a fast access fibre drop?
@@danielde6405 never heard the term fast access but yes.
What kind of gloves do you use to make these installations when there is snow?
I just use my regular gloves. I always forget the brand but I get them at my local hardware store. Just thin gloves coated with rubber
Just my 2 cents. Reminder to tie your ladder off.
Definitely good advice. Although tying off a ladder rarely does anything to prevent a fall. Usually tie off in windy conditions or wet
This is great! A couple of suggestions: cut the plywood to fit inside the floor mat. It has a lip that will hold the plywood from shifting. There is room for three mounting plates. I have one facing the passenger side and two facing the drivers side. You can cut the plywood where the back seat splits ‘60/40’ and then you are completely modular. You can have 2 stacks and one seat or 1 stack and 2 people. This works very well for me and is completely removable in 30 seconds. F150 is only back seat this kind of layout works in. Avoid the factory fold down under seat storage. The backseat floor is completely flat without it. Cheers!
Thanks that’s a good tip. I haven’t had any issues the way I did it. My truck is usually in work mode 95% of the time. And when it’s not I remove all my stuff from the back and remove the floor panel.
@ perfect! The convenience and security with this kind of setup is top notch! Cheers.

Youre missing the entire center bar. I have the exact same rodder
Dude youre rodder is trash. Also i put a wad of tape on the rod, the lube it up with oil before i send into conduit. Works amazing
@FyBurz I never told how long i've worked, i simply kept what i do vague at the beginning. You know less of me then I know of you, your channel is full of tid bits inside your life but I don't care to watch. these comments are enough of a helping hand for you in regards to the algorithm. i simply stated at the beginning i didn't watch the video, you read and knew this the whole time. and my comments about your experience were solely based on a slit second of you moaning about others work. In one of the comments i had that didn't submit correctly i stated you obviously never had to rush a job for any circumstances, whether its family or whether. and that electrician you supposedly are complaining about maybe in fact a subcontractor like yourself, you not realizing this and wanting to get clout on the internet, shows your lack of experience. do you own any build code books, do you have all of the revisions and studied them. i know you haven't had you did you may have saw a specific code that has since changed. or maybe that electrician like you works for them self and has to buy material. what if big shocker here , lowes or home depot didn't have the right material yet that contractor got it done. something you lack experience in. and it's obvious to those with experience. here another fact i know i'm younger than you yet have vast more experience with less hours under my belt because I pay attention and learn from the mistakes of others, something you could learn to do now. like i said at the start your lack of experience shows in a split second, had you actually disagreed with me or had the brains to fish for what exactly brought me to that thought, your replies would be different.
Yeah, that's a new one.
you sound young and inexperienced i skipped immediately but came back to tell you this, put your phone away and get your job done.
@@ron-g7t4p 😂😂😂 you couldn’t be more wrong. Maybe get off TH-cam and go do some work yourself
@@ron-g7t4p So if someone is young, that automatically makes them inexperienced? Not how that works. I know some pretty dumb carpenters, both young and old. I also know some extremely talented young carpenters. Never base someones experience and work ethic off of age. You may lose out on some truly amazing workers.
@deilach I’m also thirty and been in blue collar work since I was 17 😅 no idea what this guy is talking about 😂
@@FyBurz ironically to tell someone to get off of TH-cam as if your not the trying to cash in on ad revenue ( not saying your channel is popular enough to do so yet). And then give a random comment the power to trow your whole day off. if you don't want to sound young being 30 speak with your chest, if you want to sound experienced fix the issue and speak about quoting jobs, not bitching about others work, that's what make you sound inexperienced. I don't need to prove anything to anyone. though the projects I've been on the young inexperienced guys bitch and moan about other work ,were the people that actually get shit done are busy doing it, so they can go home and live their life and not base their life on the work they do. clearly by sheer stupidity you typed a lot of words and said very little. get mad throw a fit, over some work you stumbled on to as if you never had to rush a job because you have family and other obligations. you're the sad individual that places their identity on the work they do rather than the person they are. good luck with that chaps you'll need it.
it's obvious to someone that grew up in two separate construction companies. you maybe starting your own company, but i was lucky to be born with a tool belt already to go. I've shat and slept on site since i was 5, my only job is to look for and fire useless workers, and I'm telling you if i saw your phone out filming on any of our projects you would be on leave without pay. it's unprofessional and shows lack of work ethic. whether your a carpenter, operator, laborer , TCP etc. if you look like your not doing you job you most likely you aren't and we don't pay for people to be lazy, we trim our companies fat. It's contractors and small business owners like you that make a bad name for Trade workers. undercutting jobs under preforming work and hundreds of evidence of this on their social media accounts as they pat them selves on the back. Here is some international contracting advice, you don't need video evidence of your work if it's actually good, it will speak for it self.
That's the nastiest vault I've ever seen. No wonder it was seized. Also, you can split a single drop to a duplex. It's a special rsu.
That’s interesting I don’t think the provider I work for does that
Good work. I’d prefer the conduit would’ve went under the vault in case the vault gets damaged one day and needs to get replaced.
@@Wav10001 a lot of work for something that will never happen lol. I did it to spec
@ you’d think that but I’ve had like 6 vaults on one county highway replaced recently and several more vaults in various places in our system replaced over years. It’s common for riding lawn mowers or the occasional tractor to mess the lids up (especially plastic ones) or for them to collapse from being ran over by heavier vehicles. There are the occasional less common things like road widening projects where the vaults are buried and completely destroyed. If the conduit was ran through the vault instead of under, we would’ve had to destroy the rest of the vault just to get it out of the ground. The other option would’ve been to break a 192ct in several different slack vault locations and install a FOSC at each location.
@ that sucks. I doubt in this instance this will ever happen. It’s pretty far off the road
I'm going to do my own 3000' aerial figure 8 (messenger cable) install on a rural driveway. It undergrounds in conduit for the last 150'. Is it acceptable to underground figure 8 cable in conduit? If not..what would the more acceptable way be?
To be honest I don’t see an issue with using figure 8 underground I could be wrong but there’s nothing inherently stopping you from using it

This is brilliant! It's simple but brilliant. I just bought a new F150 this week, and I did not want to drill holes into the floor of the truck. It never occurred to me to create a 'fake' floorboard like this, which will not damage the truck and is completely removable! Well done! I'll be doing a version of this for sure!
@@davidlittle04 thanks man! Hope it turns out for you 🤙🏼
I’d set the ladder up on the side of the pole opposite to where the drop is coming from on that long drop so you can pull back instead of pulling to the side. Saves your shoulders that way.

It does actually… a leg is just a term used to define a limb 🤷🏻♂️ and I mean literally as in it only has one left. Not that it’s literally a leg.
@FyBurz *Figuratively. It's a "figure of speech. It's literally a "figurative" meaning. "Limb" is also a figurative term. An animal literally has legs. A structure literally has "supports" which can figuratively be referred to as legs. A tree and a person literally have limbs (body parts). Non-living things figuratively have limbs. Side note: "leg" in this sense is a figurative reference to a distance a person would walk or run using their legs. "The car broke down, so I had to leg it the rest of the way." Then that became a different metaphor. "The last leg of the journey was on foot." Then that became a different metaphor. "This will be the last leg of my life; the final journey."
