Tracer wires are used by locators to find the drop for underground locates if there is no trace wire present and the drop is not armored it can not be found with a radio frequency locator. that being said from personal experience the tiny wires don't locate well typically because neither end is grounded or they get broken. hope it helps :)
Not sure if you’re telling me or the viewers. But I’m very aware what the tracer is for. I just didn’t explain that because I thought it was obvious. But thanks I’m sure some people might not know. 👍🏼
I’ve done a couple rehangs. That were torn down by trees. And some repairs. But the provider for my main contract only deals in fibre. I do have a project where I have to hang approx 50 Coax drops so stay tuned 😅
Nice q&a and explanations! Good honest work you put in there to bring "light" to the remote areas! One question about your helpers: you hire them directly as linemen or "simple labourers" by yourself?
Usually I hire them as just helpers. But I’m always trying to train them to do what I do. A lot of times they don’t want to take the opportunity or responsibility. You see Craig in my videos. He’s a very experienced tech just doesn’t have many drops under his belt to the standard I have to keep.
@@FyBurz A very good attitude you show there! Also you treat your helpers with respect and the aspect of learning is a nice thing to do. Hope to see them up in the air doing drops and stuff in the future! Always with perfection and leraning every drop that is done 🙂!
i think the name change is cool bro, the name is unique and definitely relate to hard work being easy, especially when you love what you do. in my job we have FTTH and HFC. but i haven’t done fiber installs, just troubleshooting fiber and how to do connectors. i plan on learning how to do a correct fiber install soon
Awesome…… I am also a former police officer here in my country and is planning to engage in FTTH business. The biggest obstacle to my planned business is that the project is in an island town and submersible fiber cable is so expensive.

Ah man yeah that’s unfortunate. No land to bring it across ? Bridge?
@@FyBurz it’s 19km distance from the mainland over rough sea.😁
@@rds0009 ah man 😅
What kind of lightmeter you use?
I have a fluke one. As well as a plethora of Amazon ones.
