Speaking of weird ones: Directly across the street from my house is a very large underground vault. I had a look in it when the local Telus tech was searching for the closest NPT for my fibre service, and the whole thing was completely empty! The NPT ended up being in a tiny tub down the street. Weird indeed.
The copper ground into the house is still good for server racks and some mid to higher level networking equipment. Some switches and stuff will have an actual grounding screw on the rear of them.
Thought you were just gunna tape the pull string parallel to the fiber with out the loops. i was like "if that snags a bit its coming off." Lol. Good stuff
So I please the tracer because it’s protocol and it’s there to locate the conduit. Should there be any breaks or issues with it in the future. But yes, it technically could be used to pull in a string and then maybe the Drop I don’t think I would trust it to pull the drop in.
Do you have the ability to recycle the left over fibre from the drop? Sometimes it’s over 50m that gets chopped off, surely that can be repurposed by the vendor? Love the vids from Australia!
Getting tinder notifications mid job is sooo relatable 😂😂😂
😂😂

It happens. Those vaults are usually where the FOSCs (black splice case) are and mainly pass through feeds to the all the mpts in the service tubs.
This is awesome! I love the video and your sharing. An additional knowledge.
Glad you enjoyed it! check out my other videos you can enter the giveaway!
That MPT mount in the tub is nice. They should have them everywhere, its like my area too. I rarely ever see them 😢
It was broken too haha 😅 but yea nice to not have to reach into a messy tub.

Not sure I understand how or why a server rack would need to ground to an External box like that 🤔
@@FyBurz think its cause its high load (5kw+) common in datacenter (i assume for insurance) rarely ever see it in houses though.

Never! Haha. Although I did lose the tracer twice recently 😩
@FyBurz ah that's the worst. But luckily it's an easy fix with a bag and shop vac.
@@armandosoria7993 I usually just pull back my drop and reattach. It happened on my dig video I just posted, did you watch ?
Nice work man !
Thanks!
How come the company doesn’t order spools of tone-able? It’d be a pain in the ass to have to use that tracer wire every time I have to do a bury job
Honestly it’s a pain to have to carry both. And I do like 70% aerial.
What's the purpose of the tracer wire?. Can it be used to pull a new drop in if the existing is damaged?.

Another great one!
It was ok 😅 I have much better videos coming
Have you run into the new evolve style MST’s yet? In our area, that’s what they’re switching to instead of the optitap
No I haven’t most of what I work on are existing builds and the new ones are all AFL trident 🔱
Imagine you forgot to pull back the cut piece and then terminate the cut piece 😂
Haha Yeah, that Tech would’ve had quite a headache. Trying to figure out why he’s not getting light😂

Not as much as you think. :( , I do use longer cut offs but can’t run a drop with them.
7:10 😄
Haha 😅
Do they run the fiber on both sides of the street?
Not normally. But sometimes it’ll cross over and back. Not common tho
What is the blue tool ?
Blue tool ?
The one you were using in the tail end of the fiber….
@@jordantekelenburg come on man you know what that is 😅
@@FyBurz I am guessing Jonard Fiber Optic Drop Cable Slitter… sorry I watched that video as I was going to bed 😉😉😉
@@jordantekelenburg you are correct 👍🏼
great video bro, i did not know its still snowing there lol
It is and it isn’t. This is up on a ski hill Nieghbour hood
