351 CLEVELAND?
@@DominatorGarage 302 'Windsor' as we call them here. Only because we also had 302 Clevelands here in Australia.
@ I know, it’s a fight in the states to tell people you have a 302 Cleveland. I have one in the shop out of a XY I think.
@@DominatorGarage Yeah, it definitely makes some heads explode. 🤣
Now that's heaven to my ears. What a beautiful sound that would of been around those mountains. I could listen to that all day
@Starlight_GT both front windows down, and it sounded unreal with the sound echoing up through there. No phone could do it justice, but it was just a spur of the moment trip up there, so I wanted to get a bit of it on film.👍
That is simply glorious
Did you use the COMP Cams Camshaft Set Magnum 305H Hydraulic Flat Tappet 3000-7000 RPM 351C kit???? What is the combo for this
@josuegarcia764 this was a comp XE284 with Rhoads Vmax hydraulic lifters. 140lbs on the seat springs and the cam retarded 2 degrees, intake was closing at 70 instead of the original spec of 68 degrees. Cheers.
this is awesome! I'm in the process of building 72 4v Cleveland myself, do you have any socials?
@MichealGray-f9b The best page I've come across for Cleveland building is Murphy's speedshop on FB. facebook.com/share/p/19psfZfeRR/ a great source of info on Cleveland builds, the bloke is a guru. instagram.com/australian_ford_muscle?igsh=aW9rMzZ4eWczOHM1 is a page I run on Instagram, a few nice FoMoCo classics on there to look at. Cheers.

Sounds great, for sure. My truck has 400 335 series engine. But it doesn't sing like that falcon in the revs.
Absolutely magical 👌👌👌 Is this in the Dandenong Ranges?

Gotta love the xy falcon shaker 🤘
The use of "Clevo" and the side of the road you're operating that machine on leads me to believe you're in the other hemisphere, love to see it man!
@@rhyskandoll9472 That's it! Hanging on for dear life hanging upside down here! 👍
Good stuff👍👍, the phone never does justice
@chrisF351 Cheers Chris. Ain't that the truth! They're better than nothing, but only just.👍
Damn that sounds absolutely amazing
How?
What camshaft was used in this build
@Tylernunz not my engine, and I'm not sure of the specs. It's a solid roller though, very strong over 4k.👍
I'm not sure what exhaust system this car is using, but regardless, it sounds like a V16 (I know it might seem like an exaggeration, but to me it sounds a little similar to a BRM Type 15 running in the distance).
There's something magical about the sound from a built 289 screaming in the distance. It's so distinctive you can tell right away which motor it is.
Did it just run out of gear on the straight?
It's fairly sharp sweeper at 140mph in an early 'Stang. It's just neutral throttle through there until it straightens out. Edit* A change of racing rubber lowered the gearing enough on that trip to tickle the rev limiter in top gear too. That's been sorted since. Cheers.
Sweet video! Whats your suspension setup in the rear? Im restoring a 69 right now and am thinking about what to do in the rear.
@projectdirtbikes it's still running rear leaf springs and swaybar, but also has a pan hard rod set up that can be adjusted for roll center. Fully adjustable rear shocks round it out, I think maybe QA1's? The set up works well if adjusted right, set up incorrectly it just wants to swap ends everywhere! Cheers.
I wish I could drive a machine like that just once in my life!
Schnappy! !What octane?
@@grandcrappy just ticking over on Shell 98 here, the equivalent of 93 octane U.S. I think it should be a pretty good thing when it's back in the car. Cheers.
Awesome work mr357 she sounds fkn mint man I love Howard's cams old Davetommy runs a Howard's solid flat in the Torino
@davetommy351 Thanks Dave, I'm pretty happy with how snappy it is on the stand. I've read a lot of good stuff on Howard's gear, great quality and performance. There's nothing wrong with a good solid flat either, I just thought that I'd try a roller for a change. Money adds up pretty quick on the conversion, but they can't bury you with it! 👍
Love the mill, I run one in my 66 Fastback, but I would rethink those mufflers. It’s a preference but the Cleveland can sound better
Any hint as to the LSA?
From memory, I think it might be 108? It's a Pavtek grind they use for their 550hp package. Cheers.
Nothing beats the sound of a high winding small-block Ford !!!!
If this don't a put a smile on your face I don't know what will .
Whats the cam specs and brand
great sound !
Why did Mad Max sound like ass?
These short deck motors are capable of amazing things. Here's a drag racing 388" Windsor which turns 10,000 RPM and produces 1,050 BHP, carbureted. "Slightly" modified. th-cam.com/video/I5pQYmtO5hQ/w-d-xo.html
Would love to see it at Spa, with a 5 or 6 speed.
@HAL9000-su1mz a 5 speed would be perfect, stuck with a 4 speed in this vintage class. Car tops out at just under 150mph currently.
@@Mr357Cleveland 6 is a lot of shifting on a tight course. Still 5 would allow those first 4 to be just that much closer. I hope the exhaust is patented, and that it will be preserved for future generations to stand in awe of.
Short gearing for that track!
@@HAL9000-su1mz it was a change of tyre diameter that did it. 👍
@@Mr357Cleveland Perfect. The engine sounds absolutely sublime.
This is what Mad Max should have sounded like
Dunno why...don't even know if my claim makes sense...but I always thought the 289 sounds better than the 302...
This is the F.O.R.D. sound!
289!!!
289 really does produce the best sound
That is a sweet sounding V8 ABSOLUTELY. My first car at 16 in 1979 was a 71 XY Falcon 500 sedan. I put a 68 Mustang 302 Windsor with a top loader and disc brakes. It was a standard block and heads with Edelbrock Torker hi-rise inlet Holley 600 vac secondaries and a genuine shaker ram air inlet with vacuum flap removed. Also had headers and twin system. Everyone knew my old Ford it was super cool. That little 302 Windsor saw many excursions in to 7000 rpm through the gears and it absolutely flew. Never missed a beat in 15 years I had it and just gave it 5000 km oil and filter changes. Being a 4 speed made it a real drivers car and going for squirts through the local hills running it up and down the rev range in second gear was awesome. The cam and inlet and carby and headers were perfectly matched. The stock Windsor block and heads took it all day long. I sold it and have never been happy with a car since. I have 3 old 60s Fords now and I love them way cool but will never beat my XY. Small block Windsor's have a great exhaust note. Cheers for the video with pure sound, loved it.
Can you send me the build info on this engine??
Nice!!
