April 'showers' bring May flowers; the old saying goes . . . . So, now's the time to get those wiper blades replaced. This is a 'how-to' video. NOTE: since not all replacement blades are created equally, the blades you use might mount a bit differently than these. One of the nice things about these blades from RainX (and this is not a paid video or statement) is that they do NOT require any mod...
Thank you! 4 years after this video is still very valid and useful for my GRX Di2 11sp. Much appreciated!
You're very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Cool glasses! 😎
Thanks, they are courtesy of our youngest son (ie, an extra pair or two means he shares 🤣) Thanks for watching and talking time to comment!!
Have fun and thanks for sharing!
Thanks & you've got to be here
Specific to the Travato KL: I understand that both of the "house" systems (12V DC and 120V AC) receive power from the Volta's 48V battery system. The 12V is via a DC-to-DC converter, while the 120V system is via a DC-to-AC inverter. In the Volta system, the 120V inverter can be turned off, such that you eliminate its parasitic draw, right? Is the reason you're suggesting moving everything you can to the 12V system because that 12V converter cannot be turned off, so the parasitic draw is there even if you're not using it, so you might as well make use of it? That makes sense to me.
Jim, thanks for your comment! You're spot on in your assessment of my suggestion - eliminate the parasitic draw!
I use my nose
🤣 So, I've gotta ask: what's your accuracy?
Thanks
Appreciate the thoughtfulness. You're quite welcome!
Thanks, Steve! Keep on keepin' on!
As always, Doris, thank you.
Thanks for the video! Now, I'm going to go out to the garage and check the expiration date on my propane detector. I love that I have the same model as yours, a 21KL, because your tips are always so helpful.
Thanks for the kind words Chris. Hope your search is productive 😊
Another great tip and how to video. I like the wego blocks. I was unfamiliar with those. 🤠
Gotta love those WAGO blocks!
Good info for people with electric bikes. Sooner or later this will happen. Camp Winnebago is getting closer.... ;^)-)
Yes and they finally posted the event schedule online for Camp Winnebago. Friday this week is the last day for registration.
That is a Cat 4 router. It is so outdated and seriously old technology. Not worth the investment
Thanks for your input! For those unfamiliar with router Cat terminology - the higher the number the "better" the router's performance/speed. A quick internet search will show, to Roger's point, that Cat 4 is disappearing as technology continues to progress.
@@RV2Cycle Thank you for expanding on that as I should have done. I've been seeing CAT 16 and 17 routers lately.
@@roger80465 It's always a challenge determining how much info is too much, so don't feel bad. Thanks for adding the 16/17 info - it helps demonstrate how far behind is a Cat 4!
Always great tips from you, Steve! Keep on keepin' on!
Thank you Doris.
🤠Hi Steve, Thanks for doing these. This is a true public service that may save a lot of people a lot of problems! You used pretty good paint. We have not experienced the sliding door squeak but may at some time later. Good to know this trick. Luckily we have zero squeaks and rattles in our van. if something is rattlling we did not put something back right in the drawer or cabinets. We look forward to seeing you folks at Camp Winnebago
My pleasure to share! You'll have to show me your dutch oven setup at Camp Winnebago (we're scheduled to be there on July 10). Sounds like a good idea y'all discovered. Safe travels.
Hi Steve, Another easy tip for the worry of the van being lifted is: Spray painting the lift points under the van with flourescent spray paint. I bought a couple of moving boxes to lay on and the spray paint at Lowes. I painted them in their parking lot. Easy and aviods possible problems from uninformed employees at Discount Tire and even Ram Dealers...
Excellent sharing Mark. That's one I knew of but had forgotten to share. Thanks. See you at Camp Winnebago!
Agreed the gateway has marginal performance. It's limited to the 2.4 platform only and also throttles your bandwidth down.
Thanks for your insight and thank you for watching.
What type of insulation did you add and how thick was it? Thanks for covering this topic!
Sorry for the slow response, it's been a busy day! I used Rockwool brand, R15 insulation value, unfaced 'stone wool batts'. Each batt is roughly 16 inches wide and 48 inches long and 3.5 inches thick. For spaces which required something less than 3.5 inch thickness, I recommend cutting away the excess stone wool material. Stone wool is much different than traditional fiberglass insulation. Stone wool insulation repels water and therefore keeps adjacent materials (like the metal skin of a van) dry. Stone wool is also a rigid material, unlike traditional fiberglass insulation which must be stapled or glued to studs in walls of a house to keep it from drooping and sliding to the wall's bottom. The rigidity of stone wool makes if a perfect medium for van insulation, it's not going to droop or drift to the bottom of a cavity it is supposed to insulate. Hope this helps, if not - feel free to follow up in the comments.
All great tips once again, Steve! Thanks! Keep on keepin' on!
Thanks Doris, I appreciate the encouragement
The round hole on the mounting bracket is to run your cables through and mount it away from the light, you didn't have to remove the light. The unit paired with the 360+ unit on the roof is meant to pick up cell signal from much further when camping away in the woods, compared to your cell phone. It is not about speed it's about having a signal. When used as wi-fi repeater mode, it will always have slower speed simply because it a "repeater", you are not talking directly to the network you are repeating.
Thanks for your insights. In my case, the cables connecting the Gateway to the 360+ antenna were too short to install the router ‘away from the light’. The location of the 360+ antenna, on the roof top, away from interference from the RV walls should produce a better signal speed and strength than the same set-up inside the RV. That’s not what our testing revealed. We compared the Gateway to a traditional hotspot (AT&T Unite 797s). Measuring upload & download speeds as well as RSRP, RSRQ of our old, traditional ATT hotspot as well as the Gateway. I didn’t get into that level of detail in the video (sorry) but those results led us to decide to stick to “our original" platform. Again, thanks for your comments and thanks for watching.
Love the sounds… reminds me of Red River
Hadn't thought of that but you're right, it is reminiscent of the sounds of Red River, NM.
We want to take it from end to end. We talked about it when we were in Hendersonville NC last summer. We drove some of it but had to make up time. I just love HH, they are so awesome. I got a few videos up about the HH we’ve stayed at. Nice trip 👍🏼
End to end would be a nice trip. Our journey down the Parkway was a very last minute decision, so we did only what we thought we'd be able to fit into our timeline ('twas just before I retired). Always appreciate your insight.
Sure glad it worked out! Thanks for sharing.
All about sharing 😊

Thanks Doris, appreciate your support.
When the toilet won't hold water, you put waterproof silicone around the bottom of the ring, and that fixes the leak.
Yes! Thanks for mentioning David!! I use plumbers grease. It's available at hardware stores, Amazon (amzn.to/42KbZXx), and other places on-line.
REMEMBER THE ALAMO 😂
Yeah!! For those who have never been there they will be surprised as its small size (the legend is larger than the Mission building and grounds). Still, it's a destination worthy of a visit!!
I always used the GU packs. I didn’t really pay attention to the taste. I just sucked them down and kept going 😂
Guess it's a good thing they have to abide by health standards 🤣
The title of this video should be How to install it. Not "Worth it?"
Thanks for your comment
Yeah there is no where to park down there. I’d rent a car or Uber down. We’ve parked in the Garage off Eaton street and it’s expensive. My parents would go for a month but no parking available. I’d pay for the garage for a month because it was cheaper than 2 weeks 🤷🏼♂️. Bike riding down ain’t bad like you said but it’s tight down there. Got to be careful.
LOL; live in the parking garage is a great idea!
You all are the best! You might just want to count the number of nights you stay. Thanks for sharing!
@@rv2travel Well said, thanks
Birds poop on me all the time. It's a territory thing they probably like you.
My wife said it's good luck. Didn't feel lucky 🤣
I’ve never seen those bike boxes. 🤷🏼♂️. We’ve driven to the keys 4 times and I love the drive from Homestead to KW. Once we took A1A just to see south beach. Last time we took the Old Dixie Highway just to see it plus we stayed a few nights in Key Largo. Parking in the Keys is easy…but not in a van 😂. We just park in the Garages. They are insanely expensive but it’s a spot. We stayed right around the corner from the garage at James and Grinnell one time. Last time we were on the far side of the cemetery 😠. A nice 15 minute walk both ways 😂. I can’t complain, my parents foot the bill 💸. We have yet to camp there because we only recently got another camper. We’re discussing spending a month there, off peak, when I retire just do relax but we may head to Corpus Christie to camp on the beach 🤔. Anyway be careful out there, I know you are on blood thinners ✌🏼take care
Thanks for sharing! We found a single level public lot where we could have parked but once Kelly read the restrictions at the pay station, that was the end. We plan to use the busses next time, to get from campground to KW.
What! No video of Key West? 😂 Love the commentary! Keep’em coming. You all are the most authentic thing on TH-cam!🎉
That'll come next time we visit KW. When Kelly got uncomfortable with parking, she wanted to make a direct path back to the RV Resort! I was able to convince her to make the 'loop' around the Key. However, the further we went around the loop, the more anxious she became..So, we missed the KW filming opportunity. Appreciate your encouraging comments.
Grand design ,! Buy an rv from heartland they can’t put in a screw without breaking it among everything else !
Appreciate your insight. We've owned several RVs ov the years - haven't found one yet that was flawless :)
We had a couple Nike missile bases around me. Also an air strip and a radio station for radar. I’d like to take that tour you did. I find it interesting. The radio building later was a training center and the walls were so thick, cell phones would not work. They recently tore the old radio tower down due to age. We have a building we lovingly call “building 104” that was full of Cold War stuff. Fall out shelter signs. Drinking water barrels. Those white civil defense helmets. Little triangle signs on stakes that say Rad, Bio, Chem indication a contaminated area. Geiger counter’s. We also still have a backup radio repeater for the White House there. It’s old but a guy comes every year and tests it still. It was full of asbestos tiles and insulation we had to get removed. We have an underground tunnel from the radio building to building 104 and to the base of the old tower.
Now that's pretty cool. If you do make the decision to visit HM-69, the southern most campground in the Everglades has electric (it was further than we wanted to be relative to our cycling). The original barracks and offies are still there AND still in use!
Awesome job Steve. Keep doing the videos.
@@rv2travel thank you for the encouragement; Kelly and I appreciate your support.
How did you connect the app to the bike? Where does the pce02 connect onto the bike?
Thanks for your question. The connection for the bike should be to the junction box, just like you're going to charge the the battery. This process is covered in another video if you're interested to see rather than just reading my reply. You can see this either here: th-cam.com/video/i-GSNh2ZBHk/w-d-xo.html OR here: th-cam.com/video/OjDFgjnqszI/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!
That’s why I keep my Sunpass active. That’s a cool bridge. Saves a lot of time.

Thanks Doris, we always appreciate the time you take to comment. Wishing you a happy 2024!!
Looking good Steve! Thanks for sharing
Well, thank you very much! Hope y'all have a safe and happy New Year.
Happy New year mate
Thank you so much AND wishing you a happy and prosperous 2024 as well.
It seems like you misunderstood what it's for. The Gateway is a Cellular hotspot. The antenna boosts the cellular signal and provide you with a wifi hotspot to use the cellular data plan. It really has nothing to do with boosting a wifi signal. The wifi antenna is so you can connect to the hotspot when you're near or in the trailer. If no wifi is available in the area you cannot connect the router to a wifi and must use 4G. If you see wifi on your computer and not on the gateway you have a problem with the antenna. Once it connects to another gateway the signal you get to the Winegard should be maxed out if you are in or near the RV. It cannot make the parks wifi signal stronger.
Actually, I do understand the function and appreciate your explanation. The antenna on the fifth wheel is a higher location and has no encumbrances from the RV walls, as compared to using a hotspot (either my phone as a hotspot or our att or Verizon hotspot) inside the RV. Without yielding a better, consistent, stronger signal than my other options - it's not a justified 500 dollar expense for us. Sincerely appreciate your comment.
Sorry, I've never used Talc powder ever on anything lol. What is the purpose of talcum powder & how does it prevent flat tires on the bike? Would like to know more than was explained in this brief video. Thanks!
Thanks for your question. Tires and inner tubes tend to have a stickiness to them. Think about the last time you changed to flat. Maybe you had trouble getting the tube out of the tire. Powder creates a dry, slickness between the tire and tube. This slickness increases the opportunity for the tube to slide out of the way of the rim of the wheel. Pinch flats are caused by the tube being, literally, pinched by the rim. Hope this helps.
@@RV2Cycle Interesting. Is that like baby powder? And does good rim tape help prevent snake bite punctures? Thank u 4 noticing my comments 🤓
@@wakeywakey8603 yes, baby powder will do the trick. Rim tape helps mostly with cuts and punctures from spokes or the holes drilled for the spokes. So it does serve a valid purpose but it doesn't really do anything for the snake bites
Howdy Steve. Good clean installation. I have neve seen the lume you used. Pretty slick. I like the light bar. Thanks for another informative and interesting video.
Thanks Mark. There's a link for the loom in the video description of you want to order online. Lowe's also has a similar product, usually in their electrical department. Although Amazon's half off sale of the product ended, they had the lighbar for 30% off yesterday (may still have that option).
