Experience the MAGIC of Paris Best Christmas Market!
Today we’re diving into the magical world of Christmas in Paris.
This is the first video in a special series about shopping in Paris before Christmas.
Let's explore the Tuileries Christmas Market in Paris. When you think of a traditional Christmas market, it’s usually split into two parts: half for food-whether to enjoy on the spot or take home-and half for unique gifts and decorations.
But here at the Tuileries Garden Christmas Market, it’s not just two halves-it’s three thirds! Alongside delicious food and festive shopping, there’s also a carnival-style fair with rides and games, making this market an all-in-one holiday experience for everyone.

Great video, thank you. Can we use t+ ticket to go to Versailles?
@@rheaarya No, for the moment. But from the 2nd of January you will be able to do that with the new tickets
Very helpful and explained very well. Thanks!

Funny, I'm eating the traditional Boiled Egg Bleu eg Mayonnese from french cuisine and tradition daily once again, every single morning breakfast or brunch.
Good taste!
I live in Paris and your video is very valuable. Thank you.
You're welcome!🙏
Le Procope has awful food and dirty WC, a good indicator of how clean the restaurant is overall. No we know why Napoleon never came back for his hat!
Definitely something a restaurant should be ashamed of! Unfortunately it's not only the restaurant that is dirty. It's the visitors!
If we use the navigo pass in 2025 which you told is 12 euros flat. We can use both bus/trams and metro/rer/train?
Absolutely. Anything except airport rail or bus links
The perfect antidote to Seasonal madness , a delightful lunch with PTT .🎅🎅🌲
Oh! That's very kind of you, Catherine!
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I plan to stay in paris for at least 3 weeks. Could u please tell me what my best bet is? I am a med student planning to visit saint louis hospital in march and i wanna get a card that i could use for the ride from the airport as well
The best for you would definitely be the Navigo monthly pass, on your phone...
Alain, when we were in Paris in May we tried Au Pied du Cochon, on your recommendation. We had a really enjoyable meal! We enjoyed the pork croquettes, Amatxi terrine, marrow bone with Burgundy snails, pork knuckle and the most amazing Suzette Sundae dessert! We really enjoyed all our courses. Thank you so much for your videos, they were so useful in planning our trip to Paris.
Great to know! Thanks a million for the feedback: it counts a lot for me!
Great stop😅❤
Thanks 🙏
I’ve been watching your channel. Thank you for making your videos for us! I keep thinking, ‘how can I take things that are well documented, like Paris is, and transport them to other towns, for instance Lyon?’ Lyon is not well documented, on TH-cam. I would say a good definition of a mega city is one with more than 10 million people. I looked at your 8 tips and they seem a little odd to me. Why not recommend other cities as a substitute for Paris. Obviously, some things like Sainte-Chapelle or the Sacre Couer are unique to Paris, but some things, like the food, can be experienced elsewhere. Anyway, beyond that, your tips make sense, but why not focus on what makes you a target to begin with? Don’t you look prosperous? Is there anything you can change about your clothes or your hair or get an uglier, older, more worn out bag, that would make you look less prosperous? My first idea is to not go out drinking at night and to not ride the metro drunk. Those would be the easiest targets for pickpockets. And are some people just casually walking around and don’t worry about keeping an eye on everyone? I keep an eye out, wherever I go, even if it might seem rude or people might accuse me of staring at them. You might be more polite. I can imagine Marseille having these kinds of problems, but do they have them in all French cities? Grenoble, Toulouse, Lyon, Nice, etc.? I’m scheduled to fly into Lyon for my sixth trip to Europe, in April of next year. Do you ever plan on expanding your coverage to other parts of France, besides just Paris?
I don't make videos about other cities in France because I don't know them as much as I know Paris. But when it comes to security, I know that most large cities in France have the same issues as Paris. In Lyon, there would be parts of the city, and suburbs that you shouldn't go to.
@@paristoptips I don't mean to insult you or your city. The reasons I don't want to come to Paris are that it it is big and confusing and difficult to figure out transit connections and the high prices. But, the biggest reason is just to delay spending time there. That I don't want to adjust to the culture, the food and the language there, but instead just see what I really want to see and get out, like I would do with any other city. I think they probably have more videos on the Eiffel Tower, than about the whole city of Lyon. I'm not suggesting you make enlightened commentary on other cities. If you just show up and stay for 3 or 4 days and say what restaurants you went to, what you ate, the prices, what you did, and what you liked and disliked, that might be more than helpful.
My friend and I are traveling to Paris on Friday and we plan to spend 5 days (leave on Wednesday), from my understanding of what you mentioned, i can't buy the card and weekly pass on a Friday, and even if i did, i have to wait till Monday to use it?
Yes, that's exactly it. Weekly passes start on Mondays
@paristoptips waoh, please, how do you suggest I best navigate the situation, it wouldn't make sense for me to still buy the weekly pass on Monday, if I'll be leaving on wednesday
Just purchase t+ tickets. If you don't travel more than 10 times per day, it would be OK
Great list, and very logical and efficient route. Thanks!
Glad you find it useful. Thanks
what about the Navigo Decouverte
Nothing changes.. apart for a few percent price increase...
Bonjour, Alain. I’ve had dinner at Chez Gladines on Blvd Saint-Germain a couple of times. I picked it because I often opt for a salade composee for my evening meal, and their menu offers several varieties. I’ll have to try it for lunch next time, and maybe look beyond the salads. It appears that you may have been sitting in the same spot where I was seated both times. 😊
Yes, their salads are a must-try too! I always try to sit at a table from where I have a good view of the room...
Merci. Yummy!
Thank you too!
Bonjour, ALAIN! I am thrilled to have you recommend the Chez Gladines Saint Germain! I will be staying TEN meters away in April! ♥
Then I hope you'll have a great meal there, Enrique!
@@paristoptips Thanks, Alain♥
Superbe et très jolie vidéo culturelle du jour et week end
Merci !
On our last trip to Paris, we stayed at the hotel next door, and had dinner here at the Saint Germain location on our last night. It was delightful, and one of our favorite meals of the trip.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you liked it!
Amazing prices, a Basque Bouillon indeed.
Kinda...
Gladines (went to the 13th and Saint-Germain) used to be good value for money and known for its "mountain veal escalope" and gigantic salads but it changed, not for the best some years ago. I'm not saying it's not worth a visit but it's getting more and more on the "food for tourists" side and the reception and service (at least in the 13th) are not that good.
Thanks for your feedback. I've not tried the 13th restaurant. I had a pleasant meal at Saint-Germain, with enjoyable service!
I had the pleasure of eating here and the food was delicious and not expensive. Ate out doors with some beautiful sunshine. Great atmosphere. Thank you for bringing some wonderful memories back and as always a very informative video.
I'm glad you also had a great experience there!
That’s a great deal! Way better than Applebee’s.
Prices in Europe are now much cheaper than in the USA... and they are tax and service included!
Your videos are always a welcome addition to my Saturday morning.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks for another wonderful video mate. They are always full of pertinent information and absolutely wonderful. Keep up the amazing work you do, to bring these for us.
Thanks again!
I'm going to try this walk in December. I know it won't be green but I think it will still be beautiful. I just hope it's not too muddy!
No, it shouldn't be muddy at all.
@@paristoptips Thank you! I'm very excited to see Paris and I appreciate your videos very much. Merci mille fois!
Thank you for the excellent introduction to Bouillons. The first 4 you selected are so beautiful and I truly hope to one day enjoy a lovely meal surrounded by splendid Belle Epoque architecture and art. That would be a real privilege for me.
I hope so too! A feast both for the stomach and the eyes...
If I’m with my entire family and all of the t+ tickets are on my phone, do I just scan my family members in before me and then scan my own ticket last?
No, unfortunately. You can use only one ticket at a given time.
For Relais Christine, does minibar fridge drinks are free?
No, they're not.
Extremely useful information and nice soft music. For which hotel, it’s more convenient to take RER to the La Vallee Village?
La Vallée Village is reachable with RER A. All 3 hotels are close to a metro line 4 station. From there you stop at the station Les Halles for the interchange with RER A
Maybe someone can help ..when you buy any of the Paris Pass options ..do you have to set a reservation spot in advance on their websites? The Louvre; other museums; Eiffel Tower; Versailles; etc?... Thank you
Yes, it's much better.
@@paristoptips thank you
Bouillon Chartier is not good food. And Bouillon Racine is not a bouillon cuisine, it s a restaurant. The actual owner keeps that name but makes into a restaurant. Pls check their website
Globally what I say in the video regarding Bouillon Racine...
Wow😮looks good
It is, Indeed!
I went to Vaudeville this past Saturday , December 7 2024, for lunch at around 2:45 in the afternoon. I said “Bonjour, une table pour deux s’il vous plait ! “ and the gentleman replied in English , “We are closed for lunch now.” I asked when they would reopen , he said at 7 pm… and directed me to another Brasserie on the same street. I thought it was unusual they’d be closed for the lunch hour at that time of afternoon and the restaurant did not look so busy. I was disappointed with the treatment we got and I was looking forward to eating there after watching your video. Your videos gave me some very good tips though.
Yes, totally unusual: they are normally open from 8 AM (excellent breakfasts) to 11 or 12 PM.
Great video , very professionally done ! I have a question When buying through app or apple wallet. Do you get a receipt or some sort qr quote or email? How to prove your purchase Merci beaucoup .🙏🏼
Yes, you receive an email.
Just watching your video makes me smile. Merci
I'm glad about that 😁
Thank you for your video! It is helping me learn responsibility where to spend time in Paris. I’m looking at a Airbnb in the Gambetta area of the 20th. As far as your video, it seems to be in the middle of a couple QPV’s, but not within their borders. Would you recommend Gambetta as a safe area to stay or travel through at night? We enjoy the ease of the metro and would like to use it during our stay as well and would like to know if we could arrive back to our accommodations in the evening and walk from Gambetta Metro. Thank you again and I look forward to your response.
Yes, it would be OK. Even if just near the Père Lachaise cemetary, it really is a non touristy part of Paris, where you'll encounter true Parisians living, not tourists.
I really liked your reviewing style - so, I subscribed. Merci beaucoup.
Avec grand plaisir ! Thanks for subscribing 🙏
On college trip to European, our group had to watch and look out for pickpockets and help one another.
Whenever you travel in groups it's always better to supervise what others do...
I'm an Australian going to Paris for a month. I've downloaded the Isle de France app. I was going to get the weekly 5 zone pass, and then the monthly pass (as it only operates from the 1st of the month) will these still be available?
Yes, they will
Well…McDonald’s is very popular in France. Why?
France is the country with the largest number of Mcdonald's restaurant in Europe. And it's a very creative subsidiary with a lot of recipes specific to France.
