Thank you for doing all of this hard work 😀 We will certainly check out some of these places. Made me laugh when you said that you'll take a beer instead of wine because you are driving 😅 Keep the videos coming, they are really good.
Alain: Bouillon Chartier - on Grands Boulevards, has a special place in my heart. It was the first restaurant my old Parisian friends took me to with one of their sons. The place, the food, the ambiance and, dare I say, the lack of tourists, was a special experience for me that made me feel at home! ♥
Enrique, I have to admit that Montparnasse not being a neighborhood I go to a lot, I have never been to this Chartier. Now you make me want to give it a try!
@@paristoptips OH MY, this is embarrassing, I meant to say Grands Boulevards! My age is showing up again! I shall change it to be accurate above! Forgive me!
I was very surprised by the prices. Very reasonable. And most of the food looked lovely. Must admit I haven’t had snails for a long time. Last time I loved them with a garlic sauce.
Another wonderful video! Thank you for visiting these five Bouillons! I tried Bouillon Chartier at the beginning of this year and was delighted it was so affordable. The ambiance was lively and fun. I look forward to trying a few others here to compare my experience. Merci!
Bonjour, thank you so much for your outstanding work. Always informative. easy and relaxing to watch. I'll be in Paris in a couple of weeks and looking forward to seeing some of the places you've shown. Merci 😊
Thanks! I live here but the long lines have discouraged me from trying one of the Bouillions for fear of standing in a long line just to have a possibly bad experience. Really appreciate the thorough review.
Chartier Grands Boulevards was the first bouillon I tried, about 15 years ago. The NY Times had an article about bouillons so I tried a few. Enjoyed the scene and the price. Long line first time I went, so I asked them when there was no line and went early the next day. Recently, I ate at Chartier near the railway station, five minute wait and had to get an error on the check to be fixed. Still like the place and keep an eye on what locals order!
My husband and I have been to Pigalle and Julien. We loved Pigalle actually and have been back there several times. We preferred Pigalle by a lot. There were individual dishes at both that were excellent. But we had wonderful dishes at Pigalle each time.
Good morning from Washington DC. In a couple of months, my husband and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. 30 years ago, we were in Paris for our honeymoon, so we look forward to returning to Paris for our anniversary. Thank you for your videos, they truly inspire to us. If you have any suggestions for things we can do to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, such as places to stay, fine dining, and the most luxurious Seine River cruise, we’d much appreciate it. you would recommend?
Yes, I would recommend to treat yourself with one of the gastronomic bus tours in Paris. Bus Toqué (I made a video about it: th-cam.com/video/sXBMSYLs2ds/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W93D9MHbMm6vRgJc) or bustronome. You won't regret it! And if you can afford it, a dinner at the Jules Verne restaurant on the Eiffel tower second floor, that would create great memories...
@@paristoptips I've done this. Good food and lots of fun. But for some reason the stops were limited ... I believe there were protests ongoing at the time.
Alain, that was torture for my family watching it looked so mouthwatering tasty! We've been to most of them, but not lovely looking Pharamond, that is now on our must list for 2025, with about 100 others... We love Racine (thank you for the recommendation) the food is excellent, my son loves their crème brûlée stuffed waffles.🍷
Bouillon Pigalle was.my choice when I was there because of your videos ❤. Must say though the Onion soup was not for me. The soggy bread...no. but the rest of the meal was on relatively good for the price!
If I ever go back to Bouillon Chartier, I'll have to try what the host had because the meal I had there was horrible. And Julien was mediocre at best. I'll have to try Pharamond and Racine as well. But only ordering what the host had because I clearly do not choose well on my own.
I would not promote Bouillon Chartier. The day we went the bread was stale and fries were frozen ones. And they cheated us for the bill. And the way they do the bills, many many clients have been cheated.
Bonjour. Merci for the recommendations. We tried Bouillion Racine on a previous trip based on an earlier video of yours and found the atmosphere and service quite charming. The food did not disappoint. Merci encore. 💙🤍❤️ 10:08

Thanks a lot 🙏
The good thing about visitors to Paris is generally they don't drive, so they can drink more than me!😁

This is the main argument of bouillons : unbeatable prices for acceptable quality, although it is not haute cuisine.
Enjoying your superb show with a glass of good red. A nous🍷
You can never be wrong with a good glass of red wine!

My pleasure!
For lunch, if you get there just before noon, then the line should be just fine.
As always, informative, clear explanation and attentive. Merci
Avec plaisir, mon ami!🙂

Of course, Bouillons are not GREAT restaurants, but they are a true Parisian experience! Glad you liked them...

Montblanc … chestnut cream et meringue j’adore. Also love floating island. Love the video
Thanks!
I usually don't have a sweet tooth, but I love Montblanc!

Yes, Matthew, you definitely have to try le Petit Pharamond... But beware of long lines!
Bouillon Racine is my favorite of them, even if it's a bit more expensive than the others. Only one I haven't tried yet is Pharamond.
Thanks for sharing this. It'd be interesting if you went to Pharamond and came back here to say what you think about it...
Thank you 🎉

Very nice!!

I totally agree with you about the soggy bread 😁
Maybe next time you can try Pharamond!
Le bouillon pharamond est tres bon
Ravi que vous partagiez mon opinion 🙂

Yes, give those two other Bouillons a try, and I hope you'll enjoy them.
Are the fish fillets, without bones?
Yes, they are, though occasionally you might get one...
Il faut tenir le pain avec la fourchette quand on sauce ... Pas avec les doigts ... Vous avez fait exprès lol
Je ne suis pas assez sophistiqué pour le tenir avec une fourchette. Mes doigts vont très bien pour ça 😁
I wonder why they use a comma instead of a period when writing the price.
Just because in France we use commas in numbers, not periods.

I never had issues there, but it's good to know!
