Jamuary A beautiful memory long past
มุมมอง 842 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In this video I explore my second live rig. This was created after I had issues with my Ipad on my last show and wanted to have a backup set just in case. The great part is use all the gear from previous builds that didn't make the final cut but I still love. This rig is geared toward live improvisation and not so much based on thought out pieces. This is my first run on this rig. I'm excited t...
Jamuary 2nd Beautiful Drone Journey
มุมมอง 2834 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In this video I improvise using the Subharmonicon going into the Manco Labs Grone Drone pedal then sent to the Night Verb and Chase Bliss mood into the Microcosm. I also add some minifreak pads and some strings from the Tempera. The whole piece was done in 1 take with 2 different camera angles. I hope you enjoy.

In this video I perform a piece I am working on for my next live set. This is the first time I have played it through. I am going see how many piece of music or Jams I can do in the month of January. I'm not being too strict as I still want the process to be fun and not become a burden. At the same time I look forward to exploring some under used gear in the studio. I can't say I'm going to pos...
Moody RAV Drum Ambient
มุมมอง 7512 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In this video I discovered a happy accident. I was making a quick RAV Drum jam and needed some footage to fill in some dead space in the video. When I imported an old video which never made it on youtube I was shocked as the music for that video fit perfectly with the new one. This is the result. The video is footage from Osaka Japan. I hope you enjoy.
Dark Ambient Experimental Music
มุมมอง 14221 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In todays video I just let myself go and release some heavy thoughts I have been dealing with. I layered a few tracks played in realtime in the DAW and just let whatever wanted to come out happen. I used the Grone Drone pedal from Manco Labs, the Moog Subharmonicon, Pigments, A choir pluggin, Piano, and a few vocal samples I created. Lastly everything got a healthy dose of FXS. I hope you enjoy.
Live set 3
มุมมอง 24314 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video I perform music I created for my last live show. The video of that show wasn't very good as well as some sound issues. I really like what I created and wanted to share in the best way possible so I recreated the performance live in the studio. I hope you enjoy.
Live looping Practice

Sounds awesome, I really love the music! I also have been getting into live/improvised electronic music over the last couple months and have been posting to my channel. One thing I notice about your sets is that the sound is very clear. Are you running this through Ableton with effects? I've been using Ableton + Maschine 2 plugin but haven't been able to get the sound I want out of my master effects rack.
I run everything into AUM on the ipad and have things mixed in there. I have a pretty big file in AUM that I have been building on for a few months so I keep tweaking. On any given day the sound can be good or bad. Levels are kinda done on the fly but an instance of TAIP on the master helps a lot. I never could get used to Ableton but I do love AUM on an ipad.
@@SoulSearchingGaijin ok, I'll look into TAIP. I currently use all the built-in plugins in Ableton so it might be time to branch out to 3rd party plugins. Ableton has so many features and UI elements that it can be overwhelming . I've been using it on and off since 2015 for producing and live performance so I'm happy to answer any questions about it if you ever decide to go down that road.
interesting to see where this rig takes you............personally, I hate to rely on something like a laptop, iphone, ipad for live........if you ever end up doing outdoor shows, they can be a real pain. I've had digital devices overheat and just lock up in hot weather, etc. Hardware, if well chosen, is always a more solid choice.................love the tones and timbres you'll pulling from this,.................and I find those A, B, & C effects on the 505 very useful for master effects in a live setting
Yeah I am now a little afraid of relying on the ipad rig 100%. I like this one but really don't like the bluebox as a mixer. It's a compromise for space. I'm sure things will evolve in this rig also as I get to know it more. It will feel good to have two different sets ready to go for sure.
whenever I've had to rely on a touch screen at a live show, it's been a stressful experience. Fine for home sessions or recording......every situation is unique
Awesome sounds. Very relaxing. Thank you!
Thank you! I see you''re having fun with the new mixer. Enjoy!
Great!!!
Thanks!
Lovely! 🙂🙏
Thank you!
Beautiful jam :) Jealous of that Terra!
It's my favorite instrument. If you ever get a chance to pick one up you won't regret it. Thanks for stopping bye.
@SoulSearchingGaijin One day 😁 I played one once and it was very fun!
I really like how I can think deeply while listening to your music. It is a very good sign to me, great work again!
Thanks dude! This one was off the cuff and a little ruff but doing a track everyday comes with comes with that trade off.
🙂
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing what time zone are you in?
I'm in Osaka Japan. I did this one the night of Jan 2nd and scheduled it early for the morning of the 3rd my time. I am trying to get ahead of things as new music everyday is something I haven't tried to achieve yet.
@@SoulSearchingGaijin Thank you for sharing definitely motivated about to do my jam # 2
@@weonevibeswegoodvibes3255 Best of luck.
damn, that's a lot of fx in this signal chain.................but I'm loving the result................my only real complaint, is that I only seem to be hearing Mono, so it's not as immersive as it could be
I'm not sure what happened there. I was in a rush to make this but to the best of my knowledge it was done in stereo. I do agree it sounds thin. I will have to look back and see what could have happened. Anyway thanks for listening and. commenting.
Love this!
Nice. I haven't hear this one in a while. I need to revisit it.
Very cool.
Thank you!
Great jam! I love that Microcosm. I just picked one up recently. Looking forward to more of your jamuary sessions!
Thank you! I really like to use pedals. You never know what you're gonna get. The microcosm is great but I still don't really know it too well. It is pretty deep. Hours of fun exploration with that one for sure. Enjoy.
lovely jam, Greg 🙂 a happy new year to you and thank you so much for popping into my impromptu livestream this morning, it was good to see you cheers, andy
Thanks Andy! I will be stopping bye a lot. I love your guitar playing, great vibe and very chill.
Very relaxing. Nice work 🫡💪🏼🔥
Thanks Wabbit! I hope you enjoy your new mixer.
What an epic journey! Beautiful
Thanks. It is tricky to just come up with something quickly. I'm still trying to get used to just letting things fly and not overthinking too much. This whole TH-cam thing is a test in so many ways.
@SoulSearchingGaijin Couldn't agree more!
🙏Wow, amazing! I think the vocal sample added a human quality (ironically, given how processed it is) but the real winner is the way you built up the multi-layered drum pattterns into this seething, scattering mass - really hypnotic. I always like your tunes but this one is a level up.👍
Thanks so much. To be honest the crazy drums come from tons of FXS, delays specifically. I have an instance of "Transit" on the master and a second with slightly different settings on both the Digitone and Digitakt. AUM is a powerful friend.
the auto focusing is not distracting to me as I can close my eyes and take a trip. I thank you for another great experience. Happy New Year!
Thanks Wabbit! I really need to pay attention to the video but I do get caught up in the music. Have a great new year!
I actually like the weird focus thing. I've been trying to think of ways of automating some small visual part of my live electronica videos so that there's another little thing going on but this is something I'd never thought of!
@@GoldbuggMusic It's all by accident. I keep trying to remember to switch off auto focus because so many people gave me S..t about it. The video part is not my strong suit.
Happy new year mate! Delightful jam. The pads reminded me of 90's jungle whilst having some Vangelisque and Pink Floydish bits in there but still keeping it original sounding with the wild beat. These are a few of my favorite things, like the song goes hehe
You just listed most of my favorite things also. I hope you have a great 2025! Thanks for listening.
Happy New Year 🎆!!! It is still 2024 here in L.A., but this is a great way to end the year and start a New one!! Hope all your musical goals come true in 2025 and looking forward to all your jams and live sets!!!
Happy New Year! I look forward to whats to come in 2025. Thanks for stopping bye.
Sounds pretty sweet Greg, Love it!😎
Thank you! Happy New Year! May you be blessed with joy and abundance in 2025!
🤩🤩🤩
I hope to see you soon.
This is great, it's just about 50 minutes too short!😄
I hope to create at least 50 minutes of music this month. I have been floating around the idea of doing the Jamuary challenge but am a little too freaked out about not being able to keep up with it to proclaim it on TH-cam. Either way I'm going to do my best to post something everyday this month and see how long I can keep it up. Thanks for the support!
Very nice!
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Beautifully done ❤✌🏼💪🏽
Thank you! I had fun with this one.
Superb! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it!
Sounds like a scary movie soundtrack!!!
Yeah kinda creepy. Thanks for listening.
Nice....
Thanks! Just a fun little jam.
Pretty cool vibe brother, really digging the music and video footage!😎👍👍 Your the best Bro!
Yeah this one was a happy accident. Thanks for stopping bye.
Whoa this is dark. I love it. Subscribed 🙂
Thank you and welcome!
great chat, thanks 👍 going live in front of an actual real life audience is, as you say, so much more different to going live on the internet... I am now internet only performer because the other option became such a strain on the old mental health much kudos to artists that go out on the road cheers, andy 🙂
I know how your feel. It can be stressful but for me at the moment I'm trying to push myself a bit. If nothing else to catch up for all the years I slept on my music. Either way just getting it out there no matter how you do it is very rewarding and makes space to create more. Thanks for having a listen.
great jam, much enjoyed 🙂👍
Thank you so much.
i really really like the experience
Thank you!
Very deep track Greg. What heavy thoughts have you been dealing with? hope all is well my friend, my best to you always. Greg at Expanding Knowledge.😎
Thanks Greg. Nothing that important just spent a little too much free time catching up on world events. I like to stay in my own bubble of energy but I let a few outside forces get to me this week. Thanks for the concern. After this track I made another completely opposite vide. That will be posted real soon. I hope all is well with you!
@@SoulSearchingGaijin Very well my friend, all good on this end. Yep sometimes negative energy creeps into our lives from outside our bubble of energy, I can relate completely. I am a Scorpio, very passionate about what I involve myself in, including friends. Times are rough all over the world right now, and synthesis helps me alleviate some of the stress in my life. Looking forward to your next post, your friend Greg. 😎 Carpe diem.
A nice combination with morning coffee. Thank you. Hope all is well. If not, positive vibes incoming.
Thanks Wabbit! All is well no worries. Sometimes it's just good to let out some stress in the music. Nothing major I've just watched a little to much world events lately. I try my best not to do that.
Ah yes dude. Right up my alley, this one. Wonderful!
I'm glad you like it! I woke up and did this while having my morning coffee lol. It came real easy and without much thought. Sometimes it's nice to just go with whatever is flowing.
Great performance and set.
Thank you!
It gets better and better every time!!! Sorry to hear about the technical difficulties, but I guess that’s the risk of playing live. This set sounds great, everything comes together and blends so nicely. I enjoyed it so much and keep playing it over and over.
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed creating this music. I learned a valuable lesson on trusting computers/ipads. I have since figured it out but it did make that show a bit tricky. I want to refine this set a bit more and will perform it at my next show on Jan 7th. After that it's on to a new set.
Great set man, I really enjoyed your beats and rhythms. Question, how did you loop the Roland sounds?
I use Loopy pro on the ipad hosted in the program AUM which is my mixer and fxs source. I also have a few elements programed in there as well.
Nice job on the set. BTW, what were you controlling with the cross-fader on the Faderfox UC4?
Thanks. I have an instance of "Transit" from Baby Audio mapped to the left/right fader. I use it kinda like Ezbots performance effects on the Octatrack. The fader fox is a crucial piece in the setup. I have 3 banks fully mapped to things in the ipad/AUM
@@SoulSearchingGaijin Thank you! The Faderfox is on my list to be added soon.
@@LuisTorres-qz5kr It really helps a lot. I'm sure you will be happy.
@@SoulSearchingGaijin Thx!
LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!! Awesome! Loudness was on point, timbres were crisp, the mix felt good and the elements sounded well balanced as a whole. Everything also came together very nicely for an undeniably enjoyable fresh & nice rising energy high towards the end to make a clear statement of what your vibe and goal is all about. Beautiful and huge congrats! 🤗
You're the man! Thank you for all the encouragement and taking the time to listen. I felt good about this one.
Good work, the addition of the drum pad thing is a great success, I would say. 👍
Thanks. I really like the handsonic drum pad. Next I need to load my own samples into it and create some interesting nonconventional kits.
Otherworldly and beautiful! You have a great taste dude
Thank you So Much. That really means a lot to me. I enjoyed making this set and felt it should have a good showing.
Exquisite.
Thank you! I love this piece.
impressive as always <3
Thank you! I'm getting a little better everyday. I still have a long way to go.
This is seriously the worst sounding synth in the history of recorded music.
I agree I was not very impressed. I would say what do you expect for the cheap price. I have long since moved on from this piece of gear but it may work well for some. If you add some fxs and use it with other gear it can find it's place. In the end I guess it's all about your expectations and what you are looking for.
The journey continues and the progress is great! Wishing you continued success into 2025.
Thank you! I feel real good about my progress and look forward to next year with high hopes.
It sounds very good! The addition of drums is fun, just don’t forget about playing those live synth melodies!!! Looking forward to the show!!!
The trick is managing them both. I have a lot more practicing to do before Saturday.
Very nice.😄
Thank you.
Very fluid 🕺 I'm rubbish at live looping ! Are you recording to black box or ipad here ?
I'm recording on the iPad inside AUM using loopy pro. I have 4 tracks set up and am using a blue tooth midi foot controller to work the looping program.
