September 26, 2024: Today I came to your channel (newbie) for your organization with knitting with the great leather bag that definitely brings such a beautiful inspiration to carry around. Then just wanted to peek at your reads the books are for sure to put on my BTR list to continue audio. Your comments with The woman in the window I agree. If I read a book first I generally have expectations of what the movie shoukd be. Very rare I go to the movies not because of cost but I love sitting with a book and times dozing off! Well I suppose and have done dozing off in a mociw theater. Loving your views, ideas and sharing. You are a keeper.

September 26, 2024: Fist timer to your channel and first how you elevated knitting with the bag. The bag is on a great sale as of today. Definitely securing one to hold a project on the go with style. Your bags are beautiful. I am investing in that portable scale, which before in the beginning and stil a novice, is a must tool to stop purchasing too many extra yarns! This is a channel for me with the organization that is so pleasing to the eye. I also put in a small pouch with tea, cash and hard candy or other smalll treat. Don’t you agree we always say “oh just one more round” then hours later😊 Oh do not excuse for printing a pattern. I have tried digital ones but not working for me. So I print and put in a document protector to take along and put notes on it. This maybe excess but will print 2 copies of a pattern I know will use again. I put all the notes on the clean one in a notebook. This is a game changer for me.

I have returned to my Butterfly Blanket now that the weather in Charleston SC has gotten cooler after a scorching summer. This is such a sweet project with an interesting history as shared by Leslie Friend. I'm using Big Twist yarn as suggested in the pattern, but I had to go up to a Size 10 needle for the fabric to feel right. Big Twist is a heavy worsted that has a tendency to drag in the humidity here. I'll knit another Butterfly Blanket, but in a different yarn next time. I enjoyed this episode.

Oh my goodness! I have to do one of these too. I love seeing what people have in their knitting bags.

I’ve lived the life I needed and appreciate it in ways I couldn’t have understood 10 years ago. Knitting socks has brought me to my happy moments being alone at this age. I have found such joy in my making self!

Hi, new to your vidoes. Just have a quick question about your sock knitting. Do you use the whole hank of yarn for the size sock you knit or do you have leftovers? If you do have leftover, what do you do with it? I have so much leftover sock yarn and I've knit shawls and cowls, but what else is there? Thanks and lovely knitting. Another one which I always notice is herbs…you guys say ‘erbs’…the Brits pronounce the ‘h’. I’m very excited about autumn, knitting, crochet, walks in nature. All the good things. I finally read James and absolutely loved it too. Seeing everything from Jim’s eyes and soul was heartbreaking at times. Some of this book just tore my heart out and some made me so angry! A quote that sticks with me from the book is this one. “To fight in a war,' he said. 'Can you imagine?' 'Would that mean facing death every day and doing what other people tell you to do?' I asked. 'I reckon.' 'Yes, Huck. I can imagine.” 💔💔💔

I gave copies of Small Things Like These to 5 people this past Christmas with instructions to open early. It's a book to haul out every Christmas but it's a sweet, compelling read at any time of year. The Magdelene laundries in Ireland have been portrayed in several films. BBC did one (based on memoirs) in 2002 th-cam.com/video/Pjscd-g7z6Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zVjK3TBF3XZHzqwz - some images stick with me years later. There's also Judy Dench in Philomena from a few years back - a fictionalized account of a now-old woman revisiting her past. I grew up Catholic and thought I'd come to terms with the religion I left. Between these films and the excavation of kids' bodies from Catholic-run "residential schools" to which indigenous children were forced to so .... there's a lot of sick crap going on in the name of religion and makes me angry. Also to get active, to be an activist.

I wish my 20 year old self had been as confident as my 40 year old self. And now I’m 60, and I am even MORE confident and assured.

I am a bread baker and clicked on this while I was putting a cherry pie in the oven and feeding my sourdough to bake bread tomorrow. I have never seen a tool like you stirred your starter with, it looks awesome! Thanks for keeping me company while we both puttered in our kitchens!
