Hi, ive got a similar issue with me 2017 astra, eneded up replacing the map sensor but i still have the engine light on after clearing code and still feels the same. Any ideas ?

How many hours for change egr in this engine?

Having only 24wh i will not ask how many volts and amps but if it is your 12 volt battery you do need a other battery because the electronica can not do a lot with 24 watt

I think my golf needs this doing and it's making be feel a bit sick. VW will charge a tonne but I don't know if my local indipendant German car specialist will do it properly. Eurgh

No does not work , just blocks up radiator cores , the engine will over heat due to poor water circulation because of the stop leak fluid partially blocking water ways

Also if u do use it clean the cast up intween the valve seats where the spark plug is often there is thin ridges that will crack off during heat and can get in between piston wall and scratch it

These heads are junk they will fail esrly they are made of softer dirty aluminum the casting is imperfect in ways that can lead to failure namely in tha cam cradles they are thinner and they wear down quickly and often times the valves do not seal 100percent

Thank you for posting this guide, it gave me the confidence to do ours over the weekend. We do not have a ugga ugga gun so we used the locking plate that required the starter to be removed. The crank bolt required a 3 meter bar over the breaker bar, so we could get the bolt out. I would also recommend buying a replacement crank bolt. Thank you again.🎉

I drive a very similar car… it is our family daily driver. it has been brilliant… 13 years old now… so battery is a bit depleted… but it is still great for around town. Lots of space, drives well, never a mechanical issue…

Hi, I'll be attempting this job myself shortly on a 2019 Seat Leon Estate, 1.6 TDI DSG gearbox. Please could you advise if you have another video which demonstrates the removal of the clutch pack from the box? I am unable to find a video which demonstrates this using the same puller kit as you have.

Thank you so much for this video. I had my EGR replaced and the code kept coming back, I'm certain it must be the cooler. I tried today and got the egr and throttle body out. When I was trying to remove the bypass pipe I dropped the end of my socket down the bay with that tricky nut :(. Will give it another go tomorrow when I get a replacement socket. I did find it strange that the EGR bolts I removed were top right and bottom left, yours look they were top and bottom right, my car is an Astra K 2016. Great video, thanks. Do u think it is possible to clean the cooler in situ. By taking egr valve and the short metal tubing off. Then filling cooler with cleaning fluid to soak. Then extract fluid before reassembly.

Was it smooth and every thing fine ? I have bought the laser tool and planning to replace the dsg clutch by my self. Thanks

Before I remove the cooler ect :- I have 1.6 cdti mokka, cleaned silver elbow pipe( very dirty),throttle body( not too dirty) and egr(not too dirty) put it back together, started it then within 5 seconds it conked out, can only get it started for 4 or 5 seconds with easy start. It's as if some foreign body (lumps of disturbed carbon) got jammed somewhere and starved it.would a fully blocked cooler cause a no start condition ? Cheers

Well i did it .I have taken of the cooler .mine was Completely blocked up.i used egr cleaner to Soften up the carbon deposits. then i used a jet wash and pulse the jet wash so it remove the carbon deposits..And it worked .went for a drive on the motorway got home no Codes .Grate work Roverturbo

You did well to get the tensioner out, without putting it into the service position. We replaced my tensioner which was rusted, and the idler for good measure. And put a new belt on (i ended up putting another belt on because the guy who meant to do it, messed it up). Really hard to get to the tensioner bolt. This video doesn't show you how little space we have at the front, or how bloody sharp all the edges are 😂

Give the motor a good old clean when you're in there

Probably been said 100 times by now, but the manual roof tool, you have to unscrew the red section, then twist the tool in to the hole, then tighten the red part, then twist the lot. You have to open/close the back one as well sometimes and it takes a bit of strength to open it, unlatching is easy but getting it to lift is quite hard. I find I have to go through the entire sequence if the roof mechanism/software gets confused. Also pressing the roof operation button forwards, let's pressure out of the system, which you need to do to close it manually

Hi, maybe a silly question but will ask anyway. I have the P0299 error on a petrol Astra 2016 1L turbo - do you know if it uses the same boost control valve as the diesel? e.g. part number 55509482. Thanks

I've had a few issues with the dpf myself, been watching lots of videos etc (Steven B. Tuner did tests on diffrent chemicals on a cut up DPF which is worth a watch). So i also spoke to a tech at VW who told me before trying to clean it manually get the car upto temp and then get it on a Motorway, sit with the car revving at 2500-3000 for five to ten mins while cruising which will get the DPF hot. That will fix 80% of DPF clog issues assuming it's not got an underlying problem (Coolant temp sensor, Thermostat etc). A lot of the better fault code readers will give you a differental value across the DPF and a % it's blocked!! I'm not a fan of putting anything into an expencive DPF i can't wash out after, knowing caustic is heat reactive and it has a habit of soaking into the fiber heat insulation i'm not sure Mr Muscle is the best solution.

Inside the gear box now. The plastic flange holding in the clutch spring degraded to the point both the c clip and spring were not clamped down by. So the clutch part of the gears were not working at all. LR3s are the ultimate mountain-goat work trucks. And they force you to learn auto mechanics real quick. Amazing when they work. Their payload beats all other off-roaders. Payload is like 1500 lbs plus. And their clearances beat all other 6 foot off-road trucks. Drives awesome on the interstate too. Hi Sir, this may seem like a stupid question, but do the big, black plastic screw-on cable connectors to the epb module unscrew Lefty Loosy? Mine are on right and i just want to make sure I don't actually tighten them up more. Your video, I have followed religiously in getting the epb bracket off my super-rusty 2005 LR3 (18 years in Chicago, but now tearing it up in the mountains of Virginia. A monastery vehicle). It was really rough getting the bracket bolts out. But now it should be smooth sailing. Thank you very much for your video. May i ask did you get a new EGR cooler gasket for both ends if the cooler and were did you Get it if you did ?

If you bought it for 3k or less of course it’s worth it. That’s an EV. You get your money back by not having to buy gasoline, and doing oil change. This depends on your situation if your work is 20 miles away forget it lol, but it your work is like 5 miles or less you will never need gasoline again

I changed mine yesterday. Alot easier than in your video. I also replaced steering links and tie rods, control arms so I had more space than you have. Also 1.4t petrol engine leaves alot of space to unscrew the front screws that hold the bushing. In my car you can unscrew those from the engine bay, there s a lot of room. The back screws I only partially unscrewed just enough to free the bush bracket.

Just want to say a massive thank you. I managed to remove the egr valve and give it a good clean today which removed the engine warning light thanks to this video. Pretty chuffed with myself so thanks 👍🏻

I have this engine in my 2012 London mini so am going to change the pretensioner next month. hopefully this will help it somewhat.

I'm getting Electrical failure P0401 EGR System Flow Insufficient i did the egr still getting the err . but some times i get a spanner .

Hello first of all thank you for the valuable information. To keep the system clean , after cleaning the both intake and EGR systems manually. I think you should use the LiquiMoly Intake manifold cleaner . It will prolong the service intervals. Use it each time you change the oil. What do you think ?
