Perfect job. Did my Audi A3 a few months ago. Used the same tool kits as you. Same clutch pack too. Don't know if you watched the LUK video on fitting the Gen 1 clutch kit..It's very good and covers everything.
Great video, in 2 minds to change a DQ200 clutch for a vehicle I am preparing to sell. Car drives fine and shifts gears good as well. Only issue I notice is that theres a 'screech' sound when accelerating from stationary while driving up a hill.
Good video. 18:00 measured 6mm, below 8,00mm means good. Pressing down the bearing you should use torque wrench and don't reach 12Nm. This laser tool is very user friendly, what is the high of each cylinder?
Hi, I'll be attempting this job myself shortly on a 2019 Seat Leon Estate, 1.6 TDI DSG gearbox. Please could you advise if you have another video which demonstrates the removal of the clutch pack from the box? I am unable to find a video which demonstrates this using the same puller kit as you have.
I don’t. But it’s very easy. Remove the big circlip and remove the first clutch spring plate. Then the small circlip underneath, the tool pushes into the holes in the clutch, twist to lock in, and screw the screw down and it pulls the clutch off.
Hello Sir ! Thanks for the video. I see it was little tight to insert the plate that simulate the pin ring. I wonder how did the drive feel after installing the gearbox in the car ? Was it smooth and every thing fine ? I have bought the laser tool and planning to replace the dsg clutch by my self. Thanks
I think my golf needs this doing and it's making be feel a bit sick. VW will charge a tonne but I don't know if my local indipendant German car specialist will do it properly. Eurgh
Good job and in the video you explained great. I would like to know do I need to be changed my clutch pack for VW Polo GT TSI 1.2(DQ200 7 speed) clocked 100k kms. My car is running perfectly until I drive for more than a hour or in hill station, a little screeching sound on 1st and 3rd gear shift for 2 seconds, then it runs normal. I have scanned my car and all looks fine on screen.
Thanks for the comments, unfortunately it’s hard to tell from here. Does it look like it’s slipping or flaring when it makes the noise? Ie the revs go up or spike up and down.
Fantastic vid, I might be bringing my gearbox to you to change my clutch for me soon. Where did you find all the information on how to do this job as I guess the haynes manuals won't have all these details
I’m going to tackle this job on my DSG which I’m assuming is a Gen2 as it’s a 2015 car. Your video has been the most straightforward I’ve watched but I’m a bit stuck trying to understand how the DTI thing works. Do you pull up on the tools and see what the gauge measures?
The dti is to check free play in the clutches, they need to be just right, not too tight (binding) or too loose. You set the dti up on the clutch disks and use the tools to lift the clutch’s up and down…. Same for both.
Looks like you did a good job, not that I’d know, but assume as you’ve posted it worked. Noted you didn’t change mechatronics oil, I did recently utter pita of a job via breather and considered it an utter waste of time as at 100k it was exactly the same colour and smell as the new stuff. Anyway just wondered why you didn’t ie did you consider waste of time.
Great job! Thank you for the video! I have a question. I have replaced the gearbox with an used one but the car had gen 2 and the replacement one is gen1 do you think they are compatible? Thanks
Can you please share a link to buy the toolkit from? I'm looking to change my clutches cause the companies I've taken my car to, does not know what they are doing 😮

Quick question! I have a Skoda superb 2010 dq200 gearbox when I press the throttle gently it up shifts without any issue but when I stomp/aggressive push the car it hiccups/jerks a little to upshift what do you think the issue could be?
How many kms after DSG DQ200 starts to fail in general? I am planning to buy a new VW Virtus GT. I am confused between manual transmission 6 gears or DSG DQ200 7gears. What Should I choose any recommendation. I am from India.
I’m not sure, depends on how it gets driven. Mine had done 100k miles looked fine with plenty of meat left on it but was faulty and had to replace. Maybe because car had been sat for years. I believe the wet clutch 6 speed is more reliable.
Tbis is the most detailed video I have found on this topic. A year later... you Sir earned my subscription.
Thank you.
Impressed no body would ever of thought u wasn't a mechanic down to the level of perfectionism u show good to c nice one mate.
Nice, thanks.
100% NOT a twat. Fantastic help to allow me to understand how to do this. THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi mate, can share with us the symptoms to replace the clutch? What exactly was doing before getting to the point of replace the clutch...thank you
Stuck in gear and wouldn’t do a basic setting.

I will try.

All the info is out there, I just did my homework. 👍
Dude fair play! I think I’m going to give this ago myself…
Interesting video. Is there a pre video to this one?
It’s part of a project not edited yet. 👍

Did you do a video on the basic settings side? Have one failing on 100 after gearbox replacement
I done it as part of another video I haven’t edited yet. There’s a web page somewhere that shows what the error codes are.

Yes, car is perfect. This is part of a bigger video series on a car I haven’t edited or released yet. 👍
hi, awesome work, could you describe the measurements of the tool you use to measure de height? thanks
The tool does all that?
Hi excellent video could I possibly pay you for your help and get my flywheel and clutch changed on a vw golf mk6 2012 🤔
Not sure what you mean by help? These gearboxes are very heavy and pain to get out.
Hey mate, cheeky question. Would you rent out your Laser DSG clutch removal kit? Could help us both out from a financial viewpoint!
Unfortunately not, I sold to someone else who needed it and I can borrow it back.
Great job! Thank you for the video! I have a question. I have replaced the gearbox with an used one but the car had gen 2 and the replacement one is gen1 do you think they are compatible? Thanks
I don’t know for sure, it’s only the clutch forks are different. So I can’t imagine they would be massively different.

@@Roverturbo Thank you :) really appreciate it
Very informative - did you hit any snags removing gearbox? Did you do it all from your yard?
I removed the complete front end as I had to remove the engine. Yes all at home.
Hello my boyfriends it’s having clutch slip on his dq200 dsg just wondering where u are from and could u help
I could do the clutch set up. Not really interested in removing the gearbox, they are very heavy, awkward and a pain. South England.
Quick question! I have a Skoda superb 2010 dq200 gearbox when I press the throttle gently it up shifts without any issue but when I stomp/aggressive push the car it hiccups/jerks a little to upshift what do you think the issue could be?
Could be anything, even poss a misfire. I’d take it to a local specialist.
if just change new flywheel, but clutch also old. Must fitting clutch or not.?
No you should be fine, the clutch unit just locks into flywheel with teeth.

Depends on the engine.
Can you please tell me where did you buy these 2 Tool Kits?
EBay
Great great video !!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks
Good. And nice
Nice video! Which clutch kit did you buy?
Luk ..the cheapest I could find basically.
Hi. My golf 5
1. Loss in communication with tcm
2. Car would not start
Why
No idea, sorry. Impossible to diagnose from here. work it out or take it to a mechanic. 👍
Mate, that problem is your TCM, replace the complete mecatronic and do the basic setting, then should be go...
Don’t you think he should check the wiring first? Powers, ground and communication?
What about the dmf.?
What about it?
Does it always need to change together?
@turktrchollanda7962 no, if the flywheel is fine, it can stay. It’s supposed to be a dual mass but I’ve never found any evidence that it actually is.
what a geeeza, to big for me, nice vid
Why did you have to change the clutch
Car had been standing for a long time, wouldn’t engage gears correctly, I think they was a fault with the clutch pack or rusted up.
