it's really nice to see that these methods are only Western, in China it's quite the opposite! Scratching the needle is never used and is considered absolutely superstition! Giving snaps and taps to make the needle swing in traditional Chinese schools is a technique for carrying out DISPERSION! As the swinging of the needle through finger snaps disperses Qi into the secondary channels! It is absolutely not useful for toning! Rotating the needle clockwise or anti-clockwise has always been shown to produce the same effect: the 'QI' is concentrated around the needle therefore TONIFICATION is created in the point which can then be dispersed. The only real technique to modify the TONIFICATION or DISPERSION is the insertion of the needle in favor of the flow or against the flow.

Using an alcohol based sanitizer before handling a flame is quite dangerous. People's hands could easily catch fire. The bottle is also kept next to the patient and that's dangerous too. The other thing is that, with the direct moxa demo, the patient stated it was too hot, there was no need to ask her again if it was too hot. Burns can happen quickly. Lastly, CV-6 would be a better point to demo on a public video. In step 7, I would use water to cut the burned part over. Lots of comments but I do appreciate this video and the presenter was friendly. There aren't many professional level videos on moxa available on TH-cam so I'm glad to have found this one, and it covers a lot. Thank you.

To extinguish moxa sticks you can also wrap it in tin foil making sure the end that was burning is fully covered. This starves the fire of oxygen and suffocates it effectively putting it out. This way you don’t waste any of the moxa like you would if you were to cut the end off. ❤
