Guasha, Chinese Herbs, Accupuncture & Moxabustion has given me enormous relief from Fibromyalgia Muscular Spasms in my biceps, which I had had for decades. I can now practice Tai Chi which is also helping.
I tried many other treatments, yet nothing proved as effective as Traditional Chinese Therapies.
I am off all pain & Ibrupofin meds for the first time in 20 yrs.

Can you explain why it’s used, what it achieves and what the different marks mean?

      Hi Jess,
It is used mainly for pain conditions, but it can be a more general stimulation of the channels. If you are referring to the biomdical mechanism, I think it mainly relaxes soft tissues and improves the flow of blood and lymph. It is likely that it is breaking congested capillaries, which can explain the marks it leaves. This leaves more space for healthy, uncongested capillaries. The marks have different meanings, but as a general rule get darker when the stagnation is more severe.

      Hi Gift Jojo,
I think you can use any type of massage oil. However, for the best effectiveness I recommend making your own blend as the one you find in shops are generally not strong enough. It is not hard to make your own massage oils with essential oils.
