Hi Sarah, what is fabric for white dress please? Is it from pound fabric?
Hi, yes, pound fabrics for a change! 🫣😂😂😂. Love their fabrics!!
Love your videos as always! I have plans for the one shoulder MiMi G dress in a black and brown zebra print challis. Just need an occasion to wear it! Can’t wait to see yours!
Thank you!! Ooh that sounds gorgeous, it’s such a cool pattern isn’t it? x
Such beautiful fabrics❤
Thank you. I do love a rag market rummage! 🥰😂
Hi Sarah, loving all your gorgeous fabrics especially your verdigris and although it’s thin it will look wonderful when you make it up! I was wondering if you think you could make your giraffe pattern in 2 long sleeves? Would it be possible to split the pattern in half mirror image it? Let me know what you think? 🤔 😊
Thank you!! Hmm I will have to check the pattern out and get back to you, but it is cut on the fold where the shorter arm is… I’ll get back to you!! 😂
@ thank you. I am always freezing so one arm out wouldn’t do me at all 😂 Thanks Sarah xx
Gorgeous cardigan, absolutely stunning! Looking forward to seeing your future makes from the fabric haul. Thank you for sharing
Oh thank you so much!! 😊
Absolutely LOVE your fabric choices and your giraffe top is stunning and so chic. 😍 Your stripe cardi is gorgeous.
Ah thank you!!! I’m wearing the cardi non stop in this weather! 💜🤎🩶🧡
Just love your makes!
Ah thank you. 🥰
I love the way stripes work with the My Embrace cardigan, your fabric choice is amazing. The rusty metal fabric and the bright ponti fabric are so different, can’t wait to see what you do with them too.
Thank you so much! I’ve already used the ponte, the rusty one is proving to be a bit trickier! 😂
Hi Sarah, would you make the Estelle dress from sew over it? That slinky fabric would be great tied at the side? I made one last year in a light weight viscose, poly mix and I love it!
That’s a great idea, I do have a similar pattern for a tie dress, that makes it less body con doesn’t it? Thank you!!
I made my bestie bag out of bottom weight corduroy, I interfaced the lining and the outer fabric-which makes it much ‘firmer’. It also makes the lining stay put-instead of sloshing around. I used regular interfacing that I used for garment sewing. Remember when the bag is full of your stuff it will hold its shape too. I love the quilted one and that leopard is going to look amazing
Absolutely love the giraffe top and the cardigan. You find some amazing fabrics and very different patterns xx
Thank you so much!! 😊
Gorgeous makes as always queen of style xx❤
Ah you’re too kind thank you!! 😅❤️
Love the vogue top: pattern and fabric. ❤
Thank you, I love this simple shape, I need to try the trousers too at some point. 🥰
Beautiful makes and awesome fabrics. Happy sewing.
Thank you so much! Happy sewing to you too 🥰
Thanks as always for the inspo Sarah .Your makes always seem so much more than the sum of their parts, particularly when you model them...stay well🌞
Ah lovely comment thank you! ☺️
A kielo wrap dress in the snake print would be lovely, and you could make a separate cowl/snood to put over it. You would get the best of both worlds, then 😊
Yes love the idea of the kielo in the snake print 🤎
Glad you are feeling better. You have me hooked on the LB pullover, I've made 3 recently, I love it. Your fabrics are really interesting and different and look forward to seeing what you make.
Ah thank you! The LB is a goodie isn’t it? ❤️
It certainly is @@sewsarahstyle
Love the Giraffe print top!
Thanks, it’s a bit different isn’t it?! 😂
Hi Sarah I love your giraffe patterned top and also the cardigan it looks very wearable and cosy. 😊😊
Thank you, yes it is so cosy 🥰
Hi Sarah, you are always stylish and choose different patterns. Its very refreshing to see someone who doesnt just follow trends but who sticks to her own style.
Ah thank you!! ☺️
The giraffe print is absolutely gorgeous. It’s stunning and you look so fabulous in it; and I love the cocoon style cardigan. I’m going to check that out. I could not find the vogue pattern. It’s out of print!! 😢 Ty for sharing!
Ah thank you so much! I’ve just checked it’s still available from John Lewis!
Thanks Sarah, I'm all for simple patterns and interesting fabrics. Just wish I had a Rag Market near me 🤩
Thank you!! It’s definitely a mixed blessing being so close to the market, I’ve been again today!! 🤦♀️😂
Love the drapey asymmetrical make ❤ love all the fabrics especially the rusty & blues 😍😍😍 I’ve never been to a rag market, it sounds amazing 😻
Ah thanks Julie! You need to come to Brum and I’ll show you round, you’d love it!! 😊
@@sewsarahstyle I’ll take you up on that offer Sarah but first I need to get on a major sewathon to make room for a fabric haul. Every heavy weight fabric that takes up room is up for 5he chop 😲 I am literally bursting at the seams 🤣🤣
Great makes ( as usual ) ….i really need to get to Birmingham 😂
Ah thanks, yes it’s always worth a visit for a rummage, it’s great fun 🤩
Those are cheetahs 🧡
Thanks Sarah. Glad you’re feeling better
Thank you!! 🥰
Hi Sarah, what beautiful garments you have made. Love how you can make a simple garment to become a stunning garment with the choice of fabric. Agree with you - no zips, buttons etc - you don’t need them - let the simplicity of the pattern and fabric do all the talking😂 Rag market is great though - I love a bargain xxx 😊
Ah thank you so much. Simple is definitely my way of sewing! 🥰
Oooh. That stripy fabric looks like Tom Baker’s Dr Who scarf!! Did they have much left?
😂. I’m literally about to go to the rag market now. I’ll see if I can find it. Do you want me to get some if it’s still there?!! xx
@ ooh yes please. I could grab a shower and meet you if you’re in there long enough?
@@lovejohandmadeah fab!! I reckon we’ll be there until 1 or 2 ish! ❤
@ amazing. I’ll message you from insta when I’m in?
Hi, just found you as I was searching Bobs! What is the blue top on the mannequin? Love the neck .
Ah thank you!! It’s the LB pullover by paper theory made in a chambray fabric 💙
Love all your makes! Especially Posh Pogonip 😂 Great Work.
Ah thank you so much for your lovely comment! ❤️
What is pattern for jacket (behind you on mannequin) please ?
Hi, it’s the peppermint patterns wrap jacket 🥰
@ thank you xx
From an Aussie, I love your kangaroo pjs.
😂 thank you so much, I’ve literally just ordered some more in a navy background to make some winter ones 😂
@sewsarahstyle I really love the green mesh top too. It made me think about some mesh I have in my stash that I don't know how to use
Love the cape. I think leaving them un hemmed is a good idea. Do you really need the bulk of an unnecessary hem, especially as the fabric doesn't fray. Really inspiring, thank you!
Hi, thank you so much!! Yes I definitely prefer them unhemmed if the hem is going to be bulky/ wavy.
Your cape looks great - no one but you will know about the collar - but you really need to make another after all that learning!! I appreciate your honest and vulnerable sharing - made me feel like I'm not alone!!
😂 you definitely aren’t alone in making mistakes 🫣😂. Thank you yes I would absolutely like to make another one. x
Hi Sarah just looking back at this video as I am hoping to make up a Kaya, could you let me know what size you went for please, my bust measurements put me in a 14 on the size chart but then on the next sizing I am a 10 but I wasn't sure if these were finished measurements. L have not made a Fibre Mood pattern before and their instructions are a little vague!! Thank you.
Hi, I agree they’re vague instructions! I’m not near my pattern pieces atm, but I’m pretty sure i made a 12 which at 92 cm is actually slightly less than my bust measurement. Because I took some out of the centre fold to being the shoulders and v narrower, I remember having to add some at the side seams if you know what I mean as the toile was too tight across the bust. Hope that helps, definitely toile with this one!!
@sewsarahstyle thanks for that, I don't normally do a toile but will for this, I have some calico at the ready 😄
Nice to see it in two very different fabrics. On sewing therapy's vlog, she shows the ties from the left front and back wrapped around across the body for an asymmetric look, which is nice, because it creates a diagonal line.
Yes thank you! I think that’s so interesting the way she ties it. I do love a bit of asymmetry 🥰
Love your choice of fabrics and patterns.
Thank you!! ☺️
I love all your makes and am looking forward to finding out which interfacing solves your leopard bestie bag woes. I know you will solve this!
Ah thank you so much!! I have been gathering a few samples to try, watch this space! ❤️
Oh the baby leopard! 🐆 That is utterly hilarious and so darn cute!!! 🥰 I used medium woven interfacing for mine, just the outer fabric and it’s nice and slouchy! Loving all your autumn colours!!! ❤
😂🤦♀️😂. Thank you!! Yes I think I possibly need to stop overthinking it and keep it simple. Will try a few different tester pieces I think! ❤️
I’m loving your plans , the style arc jacket looks a good find especially with your pocket hack . I’m definitely ‘ borrowing ‘ your pattern matching tip . I wanted to thank you also for recommending the Derwent pants , I’ve made a few pairs , another quick easy sew and so very comfortable
Ooh that’s great news thank you!! I do love a simple but effective make! 🥰😂
I find Vlieseline H640 or H630 best for bags. Gives them some shape but still soft and pliable. Really liked your ‘scrap’ bestie bag btw. The medium looks a good size. 👍
Ooh thank you, I will definitely check both of those out. Soft and pliable is the feel I’m going for!
@@sewsarahstyle Hopefully that’ll help. 😀 Because H640/630 are a named brand of interfacing, they’re dearer but you do get quality and consistency. And if you don’t make bags a lot then you won’t need loads of it. That said, I recently bought a H640 ‘equivalent’ (or so they said) from Pound a metre. It’s arrived but I’ve not used it yet. I’ll let you know how it sews. Love your leopard print look bag. The fabric is 😍
Love that lantern top too! 😍
Thank you, it’s such a fab pattern, have you made it? x
@ no, but I love it on you and may well have to make it one day xxx
Love your bestie bag 🤩
Thank you, I need one for every occasion now! 😂
@@sewsarahstyle well of course you do 😂
I’m just starting my bestie bag as well. I used buckram for the header tape of my eyelet curtains. It is very stiff. I have fusible medium interfacing for the bag, just hoping that will work and not be too floppy. Love your version. ❤
Hi, thank you!! Yes from what I’ve read in the comments, fusible medium interfacing sounds like just the right stuff! 🥰
Fuseable fleece will be much better for your bag ❤
Great thank you, will be getting some more!
I make a few bags and never use fusible fleece as I learnt the hard way that it doesn't stay fused. I either use decovil light which is amazing stuff but expensive. It maybe a little too rigid for what you want though. The other material I use is woven fusible interfacing. Woven is far superior to non wove and once it's fused it stays fused. You could use that on the velboa as well as the lining and will give you the structure but softness you want.
Thank you!! I definitely think the woven interfacing will work, a couple of others have also mentioned that. I’ll have a look at decovil light, I’ve not heard of that before. Thanks 🥰
That fusible fleece won't fuse properly .. so pull out fleece and interface your bag again .. the cotton buckram is too hard .. that's works for tote bag bases... love your baby leopard 🎉
Thank you!!! I wish I hadn’t tried to take it apart as I’ve now ripped it and your advice is the right one, I could have just tried to change the interfacing 🤦♀️ it’s such a well made pattern that there was so much topstitching I ruined it trying to save the zip 😫
I would go with a simple shirt or blazer interfacing. You do not need anything heavy because the fabric is already heavier, regular woven interfacing would probably be fine. That’s what I would go for. Don’t give up on it’s a beautiful leopard print.
Ah thank you, a couple of others have suggested woven interfacing, I do think that will work. Definitely not giving up!! 🤎😂
Your animal print bag, if you have spare denim or twill line the bag with that. It is durable but pliable plus wears well. Love you videos, they are always interesting.
Ah thank you!! Yes that sounds like a great idea, so it has some structure. I’m not sure how the outside fabric would work without interfacing as it’s really quite floppy. Presumably iron some interfacing to that too? Sorry I’m such a beginner with interfacing! 🤦♀️😂
I’d remove the interfacing from the ‘baby leopard’ and make a bag liner from light felt that you just set into the bag. I used to have expensive handbags and there are companies that make bag liners for them, you’d be doing your own version of that x
Ooh that’s interesting thank you. So does the felt literally just sit between the two outside layers, just stitched into the seams?
@ no, it just sits inside the bag so you can lift it out and pop it in another Bestie Bag without having to empty out the contents when you change bags x
