You noticed! Yessss....I'm an Anglophile hiker. I am fascinated with everything British. I hike many many trails in the UK. I just got back from Scotland hiking 550 miles of Scottish National Trail (see my video vlogs). I've also done Wainwright's Coast to Coast 3 times in northern England, South Downs Way, West Highland Way, and the most difficult trail in the UK, the Cape Wrath Trail last year. :) I will check out Happt Valley! Cheers!

Interesting to hear you say you stole food from the breakfast at Oykel Bridge Hotel. Last year we were behind you on the CWT by about two weeks. I mentioned your vlogs to the manager at Lochhournhead B&B and he was furious that you had taken several chocolate bars without paying. Any comment?

??? What??, That is not true at all. I paid for everything i got at Lochhournhead. Coffee, candy bars, a meal, internet access everything. If I remember correctly I spent over £33 on myself. I asked if a room was available but they were booked. They must have confused me with someone else! 😡 Regarding the joking comment i made about "stealing" food from Oykel Bridge Hotel. I took 1 banana and 1 apple from the breakfast buffet to eat on the go with me that I paid for including room for 2 nights. We spent approximately £300 there

Hii!! Thanks for watching!! It was such an amazing adventure. You must do it! To get there, we flew from Dallas, Texas to Edinburgh. The next day, we took buses and train to Kirk Yetholm....it was sooo long and complicated. I used Google map to tell me which bus and train to take. Getting back to Edinburgh from Cape Wrath Lighthouse is even more complicated but I've done it before so I was already familiar. You either walk 13 miles or take Cape Wrath Minibus (if it's running or have space for you) to the Kyle of Durness. Take a ferry over the Kyle of Durness (if it's running....if not, you'll have to walk around the kyle on land to Durness. From Durness, take the 801 bus to Inverness. Then train to Edimburgh. Woahhhh

Thunder Rock is where I left off. I can't wait to get back out there and finish up the last 200 miles. The first portion of that trail was hectic, it was difficult, and it was boring at times. I would say the heat and insects didn't help you much. I definitely agree with you. If you're not having fun, then it's time to go. There is one thing I wish I would have known when I started long distance hiking and it is the old saying, "never quit on a bad day." :) I was kind of forced off trail after the first 100 miles too due to somethings at home, that I didn't mention in my videos, but it was also in mid October and the days weren't as long as the summer. I found myself not taking enough time to enjoy what the trail had to offer because I was always trying to make my minimal 15 miles before sundown. The trail I want to hike and is on my bucket list, more than any other, is the PCT, the Pacific Crest Trail. That has always been my dream. :) I will make it a reality soon enough. I really enjoyed your series on the BMT. You've gained a sub here. I'm excited to check out your other videos. happy trails and thanks again for the trip down memory lane. :)

I love reliving my hike of the 1st hundred miles on the BMT. thanks for this. :) My first night on trail was across the suspension bridge, next to the river, I tried to stick to at least 15 miles a day. I woke up the next morning, which was my 40th birthday, to River Otters playing in the water. <3 And yes, that first few days on trail was crazy. It was a lot harder than I expected.
