Brings back memories - I had weather just like that on great shunned fell earlier in the year - I broke a hiking pole on the way down !. Well done .Great vid. Thank you.
You got a glimpse of what the Pennine Way is really like when the mist lifted but a good excuse to come back and do it again in the summer months, maybe May or possibly August when all the heather will be in full bloom on the moors, that's a lovely little tea room in Thwaite.
Hi I did it in August 2020 and it was hard enough then never mind doing it in October. I don't know how far in front of the videos you are but when you get onto the cheviots from Byrness there's no drinking water up there so make sure you have enough there are also two shelters, lambs foot at about 10 miles and Auchope at about 18 miles.
Hello Christina, always good to meet-up with a friend. Sorry to see that it is very wet underfoot, good milage for what is very short days. Regards. Andrew.
Another great watch Christina, the weather was a bit bleak on the moor land top but give it 10 minutes and all change.looking forward to the next instalment. 😀
I like the Halloween music you had in the background while climbing Great Shunner Fell in the mist. Very appropriate for 31 Oct. I wonder how many of your British followers caught that?
I can tell you the views from the top of Great Shunners Fell is astounding when its not misty. However you missed the Highest single leap Waterfall behind the Pub in the last Village which was also in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner, also in that film is the Tree at Sycamore Gap later on in the Hike when you get to Hadrian's Wall.
I think you're going to love Offa's Dyke as it's so diverse in it's terrain, history, towns and villages. I recommend you start from S to N. Love your choice of music.
What a shame you missed out Hardraw Force waterfall behind the Green Dragon Inn, in Hardraw at the beginning of the walk, the highest unbroken waterfall in England. It would have added around 45 minutes to the walk though, but well worth it.
Enjoying your Pennine Way journey. Looking at your 2025 plans. Have you ever considered Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG)? Three months, 1200 miles. WHW was my favorite followed closely by the PW in '11 and '19. Good luck on the rest of your walk.
I slept on top of great shunner fell in April and the water was still deep on the path☹️. The views are a lot nicer when it’s clear. Enjoying the videos sheep
Great Shunner Fell is a desolate place. Once I stayed in a B&B in Gunnerside. The land lady and husband played in a brass band. Every year the band would go to the top of the fell and place.
I have seen the view from the top of the fell. It has always been in mist. My only clear memory is breaking a tooth eating a baguette from the place you sat😂
@ I was laughing my friend when he said he doesn’t eat nuts anymore fearing dental damage. Unbelievably I was munching on a baguette and a molar broke off. He was laughing hysterically. Divn3 payback. We are in our fifties. You have to expect it😆
Thanks!

Hi Christina enjoying your PW trek immensely, looking forward to seeing you tackle the Cheviots and final days walk into Kirk Yetholm. Best Mel Xx

Sorry again for the mist and bogs. Pretty normal all year round. But it does make you appreciate arriving at a warm pub!
You are doing brilliantly!!

❤ Well done, you have a lot of stamina, it's a tough walk. Some wellington boots may be a good idea, especially if it gets colder, nice dry feet x

@davidjackson8829 hahahaha!!! I avoid eating sticky caramel candies because im afraid my tooth or fillings might come off. Lol
Shame about the fog, but you're in the high Pennines in late autumn, when the clouds begin at 1,000 - 1,200 feet above sea level.
Absolutely do it again in summer, trust me, you'll thank yourself😁👍
Im already planning to
Northern fell tops! You can have the 4 seasons in one day.
