You’re opening yourself up to violating several contractual and heath department code issues by showing you propping doors open.
Is that a one stop?
You still work for US FOODS?
💯🔥
Thanks
Speedy recovery
Thank you
Right after my 12-13 food service shift, I hit the boxing gym for an hour and then home with wife and children to eat and sleep till the next shift.
The only thing I’m afraid of is the ramp… that should be HORRIBLE on your knees
The word is TOO. Too! To and too do not mean the same thing.
Yuh worked for Pepsi for few months.. you work 5 days a week 10-14 hour days non stop labor. Yeah u making bank but at what cost? Working 60 hours with no home life and your body is cooked
I use spray paint, once I get it right where I want it the first night, i put a small white dot on the pavement center of driver door.
I work for Sysco and I have friends who work for US Foods and they say there is no difference in the company’s.
Food service has it pros, if are looking to make some money and gain some experience driving, Food Service can benefit you. I say get all you can get out of it( save for a down payment for a home, get out of debt) and move on... after taxes and benefits taken out I was taking home $1,750 a week(take home) you can tell me thats not good money, they are guys who make way more than that...the benefits are good...food service is all mental
I find it funny people call this hard labor, while it's not easy that's for sure; my previous job was tank cleaning on yachts. Crawling through 100 chambers of 3 ft by 3 ft sewage tanks for up to 8 hours at a time on your hands and knees, while breathing through a gas mask and carrying pressure washers and power tools with you. The food industry pays me 4x what that job was. It's all about perspective, if you've never been in some real hellholes you'd probably think this job is hard..
Do you work 4 days?
I’m new to trucking. I like key drops but it can be dangerous not knowing who watching and plotting while you working and not paying attention
🙏🏾💪🏾🙌🏾
Great video and you said some real stuff I’m actually in the process of getting my CDL and hopefully jumping into the food service industry ✊🏾

Yoo hope all is well bro!
Sometimes looking at product can be overwhelming with the amount of cases you are required to unload. Having your own route you get quicker because you will know the best times to do all your stop. You will know where all your customers are located and especially know where things go. You will know which stop to do first and can even switch things around. If i remember U.S foods at least at my location didnt use the side door on the trailers. Sysco uses there side door. Unfortunately no job anymore pays what the job requires. But it all depends on your life style. Being smart and not over spending.
I did this job for along time. The money isnt worth the wear and tear on your body. You can stretch relax go to the chiropractor eat healthy and eat right job ages you fast. Now i deliver propane and cylinders physical but a whole hell of lot easier just one product. I dont miss the constant digging for stops and the idiotic supervisors that dont appreciate the drivers and dont understand what it takes to unload one of these. Also hes right cant get overwhelmed with 1100 cases and 9 stops. I would rather have more cases and less stops. Then more stops like 14 with maybe 500 peaces or cases. Somestimes more driving burns up your hours of service. Main thing is keep moving and be consistent. I was never fast nor was i slow. You will make alot of money but its not easy money you earn every penny.
I'm with NDCP (Dunkin) and it's great pay and the easiest in the food industry. I used to work for Sysco. This is the best decision I ever made.
Jb hunt pays the same and all I do is drive
Yeah I worked at Fed-Ex Express for like 5 yrs. Their attendance policy is almost synonymous to this. It sucked and I knew I would not stay long due to the attendance policy. Companies should def change these attendance policies though! Its ridiculous!
Sysco is for the top dwag us foods are for pussies
It’s not even that bad US FOODS is for the weak
PFG Driver here. It's definitely not worth it, you can make about the same running LTL within a decent company. All that money just to need a knee replacement down the road....
100k is decent, you can really do somethings with that if you maneuver correctly.
I’ll say this, I work for GFS and it’s my 1st year in trucking. The job itself is not what gets to you it’s the mental part from them overloading the trailer, hurting yourself, mixing up stops on the pallets even loading the pallets in the wrong stop order. But I will say that even though I’m leaving once my year of exp. Is up the job is teaching me to be way more comfortable behind the wheel especially when I have to drive different size trailers. So though I don’t like the job I’m grateful for the lessons I’m learning
Applied twice and got turned down. 6 years experience wtf
This job sounds like a slave job,you can’t even enjoy life your fruits of your labor because you will get terminated, makes you wonder if it’s even worth getting paid good I suppose vs not being able to enjoy your family or just hard to get vacation, this sounds all bad just horrible
All facts
Not bad
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…
I’m watching your videos I work for Sysco foods and just barely started ur videos very helpful and appreciate ur videos it’s different company but it’s the same job ,I’m learning.
if you have sick days available , you shouldn't get points. Right?
I go to the gym right before I go to sleep
Salute to you!! That’s tough! Great mental fortitude bro
What do the checks look like weekly or bi-weekly
We are paid weekly. Grossing $1800 on up
Hey man I’ve watched your videos for a little while now and I just put in my application for US foods over in Western PA. I currently work for Penske on their Aldi account and I’m not a huge fan. I’m going to try and get onto a 4 day work week with USF. My only question I wanna ask is, how many hours a day you think you work on average?
Sorry for the late reply my guy. That’s great you’re trying to get on with USF, I hope you get the call and soon. To answer your question I work 9.5-12 hours on any given day.
@@TayTheLocalTruckerThanks man that’s not bad at all. I actually have the interview on Monday so it’s just a matter of time before I start there.
IMO and my personal experience when i got my CDL i had the chance to stay local, I turned it down dor tje experience. And not the experience to say I did it but more of different traffic, dealing with weigh stations, trip planning and such. Now having all my endorsements after 6 years I got my 1st local. Now I'm looking at food service since LTL has never called me back. You've got some good content.
U think u will eventually hurt your knees and back ramping in the long term
Hey I live in charlotte, I have 6 months experience driving over the road experience . I just applied for us food in charlotte. Can you help me get hired??
Sorry for the late reply bro. I appreciate you reaching out. Unfortunately I can’t actually help you get hired. All hiring is ran through a recruiter. The most help a driver can actually provide is their name being put down as a referral. Best of luck to you on getting hired.
I got an interview in 2 days wit US foods…any tips? also do they have manual transmissions there?
How long does it take to hear back after filling out an application if they want to proceed with you?
All depends on the division as well as the needs of that location my guy.
@@TayTheLocalTrucker I feel that, I applied the same day they posted and is still up, is only been 2 days since so maybe it’s a process, I’m just eager to start. How long did it take for you if you remember? That would be a good video
That’s a great idea for a video, thank you. It honestly took around three weeks from applying to starting. I had a good recruiter for my process. They could be looking for more than one driver but it’s great you put your app in as quick as you did.
I’m looking to start my trucking in food service? Any tips on how to finish my route on time?
When you first start out, don’t spend so much time trying to get your truck and trailer in that “perfect” spot in order to work. Just park, hop out, set the cones and get to it. Also, don’t get flustered or overwhelmed with the load, just keep moving and the cases will come off. Give yourself some grace but stay constantly moving those cases, repetition will build speed
12 years with Sysco. That was a lifetime ago.
Do you miss it? Or atleast missed it in the beginning
