I appreciate your hard work and the content. Came across your channel in May and subscribed right away. I start with Sysco from Monday. I understand it’s tough & hard work but i am all for it. I am also a recent grad with my CDL A a little over 2 weeks now. How many cases you guys touch in a week on average there? Also, Please keep the content, motivation & positivity going brother.
First off, congratulations on getting your license and starting your career with Sysco, that’s incredible and I’m glad you’re getting the opportunity. It is tough but very rewarding. After a while it will be monotonous but still rewarding at the end of it all. On average I roll around 4900-5300 cases a week (with my daily pallet drops included). Lastly, thank you for subbing and supporting the channel. I truly appreciate and I’m definitely going to keep the content coming 🫡

Bro we need to put you in the pulpit before you start delivering messages like this!!! Just like with and job/career it has its pros and cons but it is completely worth it when you have the ability to do what you just outlined in your comment. Thank you 🫡

Depends the company you work for but as say give a year you’ll get use to it. Some days can be challenging like delivering in the rain but that what makes the job interesting.
I agree, it does make it interesting. There are challenging days but overall, I think what we do is worth the money. Now I will always say we need to make north of $150K but one can just hope we will get there one day 😂
I personally wear composite toe boots made by the brand Keen. However to be honest, although the boots may be slip resistant or waterproof, you put so many miles on your boots that those “feature” dissipate quickly
Welcome to the ranks of food service my guy 💪🏽. I’m going to be honest, all you need is decent to good rest, proper hydration (hydrate all the time), stretch before and after your route and take a multivitamin daily. After the first two to three months the body will have become acclimated to the job and your recovery will be quicker. Do the things outlined above and you’ll recover fine
Vitaman E once before bed once every 4 or 5 days i took it in track to recover from shin splints and it healed me pretty fast and im pretty sure it heals muscle injury. Not something to take every single day though.
Night 4 complete boss. My legs are wobbly like Bambis were first time she walked. I look like I’ve been unloading in the rain anyway but I’m not sure I’m ready for the rain just yet
Not like Bambi’s 🤣🤣🤣. You’re almost to the weekend champ, it’s going to the sweet when you roll that last stack on your last stop tomorrow. After a while of working you won’t know whether it’s rain or sweat you’re drenched in so you’ll be just fine for sure.
😂 nothing like coming down that metal ramp, holding a lightning rod in the middle of a summer lightning storm. Ive worked in the rain in the military, as a landscaper and I will say its by far the worst in food service especially if you have to use a liftgate at a stop. I dont even bother wearing rain gear I just change clothes at the last stop
😂 I sure hope the lighting strikes away from me lol. Yeah with all the sweating we do, what’s the point of wearing one, you won’t be able to tell the difference after a while

i remember them soncis... all those damn giant cup boxes and about 15 5 gallon soda bibs at every stop, and all the vanilla ice cream bags that go in the cooler😂. small freezers etc. they got me in hickory rigjt now running taco bells in a 53 ft... that's a whole nother animal and even smaller freezers 😂
And those Sonic boxes still haven’t changed 😂. Damn you got to maneuver a 53ft trailer in a Taco Bell parking lot, that’s tough. How big are their orders?
@TayTheLocalTrucker I've been running Charlotte, concord, Statesville area doing KFC, taco bell, wingstop, arbys, five guys with PFG. taco bell gets on average about 100, but there are some that get 150. They get multiple deliveries a week, you know how it is
@rickschindler1556 that’s actually way more than I expected, guess it’s because we don’t eat there 😂. I forgot how many people love Taco Bell. I used to work as a GM for Five Guys, and putting up those potatoes sucked so I can imagine having to deliver them…keep that account at PFG please 🤣
@TayTheLocalTrucker five guys is pretty chill.... you can stack the cooler easy, but those potatoes lol.. I usually run in 7 at a time, but there's like 30 of em lol
You have a good point here, there are a couple that I’ve experienced that can be completely out of pocket sometimes. It takes having a “stern” conversation with them for it to not happen again. Customer interaction is probably one reason why drivers like key drops 😂
@@TayTheLocalTrucker What do you guys gotta talk to them about? For example in beverage I need them to check me in before i can work any product. No ifs or buts. If they dont like how i stock their coolers they will tell me or call my supervisor. I need to talk with them about shippers and displays etc.
Our talks aren’t as extensive as yours but are similar. We have some customers that want to check the items off the invoice and don’t want you to leave until they do so even it means holding you up. You got some who want certain items of a certain category in one are and the rest in another. We don’t have to wait for them for us to start delivering though. And then there is taking to them about free food 😂
The pay at my GFS isn’t bad but it’s VERY inconsistent man. One week 2k next week $900 net 😢 overstaffed? Idk but when you go from your own routes to helping other guys 👎🏼
I understand that, inconsistent routes and pay will easily force a driver to start looking else where. Were you running a route by yourself and now you just help other drivers? Do you guys operate based off of seniority?
