    I worked there for six years from the age of 25 to 31. The pay not worth the hard labor you will experience not alone supervisors there always down your back,about timing wanting you to do something totally impossible that they couldn’t do I eventually got my own truck life’s been so much less stressful not alone I don’t have any back problems or knee problems no more

    Nice video Bro. Let this sink in.
    According to the US Census Bureau, the majority of Americans (54.98%) make $50,000 per year or less, while only 18% of individual Americans make $100,000 per year or more. This means that over 80% of Americans make less than $100,000 per year.
    It's definitely worth it

      Sinking….sinking….sinking….bro that’s FACTS and even when people read it they will still say it’s not worth it and/or it’s not enough. If you can keep majority of the $100,000 you’ll be winning. Appreciate your input and you checking out the video 🫡

    I find it funny people call this hard labor, while it's not easy that's for sure; my previous job was tank cleaning on yachts. Crawling through 100 chambers of 3 ft by 3 ft sewage tanks for up to 8 hours at a time on your hands and knees, while breathing through a gas mask and carrying pressure washers and power tools with you. The food industry pays me 4x what that job was. It's all about perspective, if you've never been in some real hellholes you'd probably think this job is hard..

      @TayTheLocalTrucker  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JamesJohnson-oc4re Bro that’s one of the best parts about it!! We don’t put up anything at all. You may be kind to a customer and like put up a bag of onions or something but it’s never required. We have customers who would say oh my last driver use to put this up for me but even in that scenario, you’re not required to do so. Good luck to you bro

      @AcAElite420 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Muricastuff Whats up bro . A little update. As far as the work is physical but i am good with it. The only issue is the route i have only pays less than 1k and I can’t go for that i have major responsibilities to pay every month. It’s to the point where they are offering me financial assistance SMH. I was a Pepsi for 2 years and got paid way more for a 4 day work week. So unfortunately my US Food location doesn’t pay overtime and it’s not a real 300 dollar minimum. The only way to make money here is to get 1200 cases a day and drive far out for miles. I was promised M-F schedule that didn’t happen. I got my Haz/Tank and Twic so I’ll be moving on to that field. Until that happens I’ll probably go to 7up in my area they are not as popular as the other beverages so it’s way easier

    Ain't nothing like seeing only your handcart and curb ramp in the end of the trailer. I got my first trucking job with McLane. I had a few solo routes but was thankful for my partners. Went to USF and I didn't like going to the restaurants alone doing key drops. I guess because I'm a woman and it be people sleeping outside the doors people walking up like naw. I start carrying my buddy with me🔫 I had a guy try to run up on me one night. I had to get out of there. I went to Coke after that i liked it better because I just dropped the pallets or sometimes unstack them in a certain area. I liked all of them but yes it does get to your back😅 it's truly a workout. One i kinda miss cause i didn't have to go to the gym lol. I thank God for being an O/O now. I do local work home everyday and i can choose if I and cross state lines but I don't have to. 🙌🏾

    Sometimes looking at product can be overwhelming with the amount of cases you are required to unload. Having your own route you get quicker because you will know the best times to do all your stop. You will know where all your customers are located and especially know where things go. You will know which stop to do first and can even switch things around. If i remember U.S foods at least at my location didnt use the side door on the trailers. Sysco uses there side door. Unfortunately no job anymore pays what the job requires. But it all depends on your life style. Being smart and not over spending.

    Been doing local delivery for 11 yrs same company before that i was OTR for 8 yr and I make six figures but I work 50 up to 60 hours a weeks seven to eight months out of the year the other four months 40 to 50 hours a week..Usually have between 800 and 1300 cases all mixed and have to separate the freight thats stacked on pallets before taking it into the stores usually around 12 to 17 stops and 200 to 380 miles of driving..Is it worth it,well I own a home,five cars and go on vacation three times a year and always have what i need and some of what i want..So imo yes its worth it if you have the testicular fortitude,drive and ya dont call in and ya dont have a problem working the hours or need off for family time in my case iv always worked long hours so i had kids that understood that i might make it for birthday parties,ball games etc and might not..But that time always got made up..

    is 270 not minus the taxes take out. So a 40hr work with gross 1200 take home 900 to 850 if I’m lying try it the turn around rates on these jobs are at 81 percent also let me clarify 2300 my mistake is around it be around 1400 to maybe 1500 my apologies but that’s off a 70 hrs work week because you are local not over the road so you fall in a time clock not ELD

And to some extent you are right when it comes to hourly vs the component pay aspect, but that’s assuming companies will pay a really good hourly wage. $30/hour for 60 hours a week is grossing $1800 and most of these local companies in food service to be specific are t going over $30-$32 hourly (although I’m sure in other areas of the country it’s probably more based on living standards). I did this job for along time. The money isnt worth the wear and tear on your body. You can stretch relax go to the chiropractor eat healthy and eat right job ages you fast. Now i deliver propane and cylinders physical but a whole hell of lot easier just one product. I dont miss the constant digging for stops and the idiotic supervisors that dont appreciate the drivers and dont understand what it takes to unload one of these. Also hes right cant get overwhelmed with 1100 cases and 9 stops. I would rather have more cases and less stops. Then more stops like 14 with maybe 500 peaces or cases. Somestimes more driving burns up your hours of service. Main thing is keep moving and be consistent. I was never fast nor was i slow. You will make alot of money but its not easy money you earn every penny.

    For me I would enjoy the workout I know it's not an easy job especially coming into the food service once again at a later age and later stage in my life but the consistency is there local coming home everyday whether it's a shorter day or longer day I'm still coming home at the end of that day and having an opportunity to have a 5-day work week even maybe a 6-day work week here and there I still come home at the end of the day and that would still leave me either 2 days off or one day off during the week versus OTR as mentioned consistently gone sacrificing something that's what they call the money bag yet your family at home I'm sure for those OTR guys the family loved ones significant other would prefer that you're close by and you're the hedge and the covering versus being gone all the time

Majority of new drivers spend a day or two out of the week on the extra board so you won’t get those hours starting off especially if the division you get hired for operates based off of seniority. If KAG can get you those hours starting out then I would say to most definitely pick them.

      Check with the HR department with the division you’re applying to, they may hire out of school. At one point USF did in my area but that went away. Sysco may also still hire new graduates. It’s not as bad as everyone says, most people don’t like the physical work when most drivers just bump docks all day

    • @TayTheLocalTrucker
      @TayTheLocalTrucker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A few things will play into you making six figures as well as the health benefits. I’ll start with the benefits, we went union almost two years ago so our benefits package is really good. I pay around $80 a week for the entire family with medical, dental, and vision. Now with the six figures portion. Our hourly rate for my division is $20.41 but we are only paid that for delay pay or doing more after our load is done like going to get drug tested for example. We are paid on a component base and if you work 5 days a week the minimum you will gross is $1500.00 a week. Almost every driver make much more than that. On average I gross a couple more hundred than that. That is what got me to six figures. Also we get holiday pay for 6 holidays throughout the year as well, and if you do extra work such as work on a Saturday to complete a route that wasn’t completed, you can get paid your average hourly rate which can range from $40 on up. There are different factors that goes into the pay. I know a guy who works for Sysco and makes six figures so it can happen there too. Best of luck to you on your journey and thanks for watching the video 🙏🏾🫡
