It was a kind of philosophical episode about punishment, guilt, sin and love, a deep perspective from the writer on such ideas, I loved it so much.. Even when they buried the bodies, if you noticed Askeladd's face, it was really cold and kinda messed up, and this gives me the perspective that he was hurt by what he did, but it was necessary from his point of view and the danger of these people to expose his plane+ he saw it as a merciful kill that because they no longer have food, he would take all the food for his army..

One thing you have to remember is that Yuji justifies containing Sukuna because he believes he will be able to do more good alive by saving others and hopefully killing Sukuna permanently. So every time Sukuna kills anyone, for Yuji that’s partially HIS fault for not accepting execution, every death from Sukuna’s actions is one Yuji has to make up for. Then literally minutes after that slaughter, he fails to save four people (yes this includes those two randoms at the station) which include two people he cares deeply about. Of course he felt so destroyed, Todo was able to hype him into a state where he could move past that but if Todo had died in this fight Yuji would probably have gone as far as letting Jujutsu Society execute him.

Jujutsu Headquarters blames Gojo and Principal Yaga for Shibuya because they are the ones who pushed to leave Yuji alive. Headquarters wanted him dead in S1E1. In their eyes, if they had killed Yuji back then, all the carnage Sukuna caused would not have happened.

We know for sure after this episode the high ranks never liked having Gojo & geto around. The announcement from headquarters confirm this, they were waiting for this moment to complot against them.

Basically the setting for Japan right now is that theres an apocalyptic invasion of curses thats already taken out a large area of the country. Yuji is basically walking in the middle of a curse wasteland and claps his hands immediately drawing the attention of tons of curses in the area. Imagine being in a zombie apocalypse and going to the middle of the city and shouting loudly.

Somebody spoiled it in the comments, so basically Geto rather the one inside Geto want to have a fking Hunger games and "activated old sorcerers" to fight with the newly activated, thats why there is a line of Geto "The World of Heian is comings ones again"

He unleashed two different groups upon Japan. Group 1 - these were just regular people like Yuji, who were forcefully fed/intwined with a cursed object allowing a sorcerer of the past to take over their body, only the person can’t contain the reincarnation inside like Yuji can with Sukuna, so the person loses themselves and goes like dormant. Group 2 - are also just regular people like Yuji, but have the capacity and layout in their DNA to become sorcerers, so he forcefully changed their brains using Mahito’s technique he absorbed to allow them to use sorcery fully. It is a bit confusing, but theres now NEW sorcerers who were just created, AND sorcerers of the past who have taken over a ton of innocent people’s bodies running around Japan.
