So by "on edge" Geto wanted Satoru to be in a state where he's essentially stuck in his thoughts and pondering on what to do to save everyone, because the Prison Realm only needs to be in front of Satoru for one minutes worth of time inside his own mind, but upon seeing "Geto", Satoru's mind flooded with memories of ten years past instantly, which exceeded the conditions needed for Prison Realm to activate and sealed him in only a single moment.
Another thing, Gojo activated and released his domain in 0.2 seconds, THEN went on the attack. He didn't attack them while within the Domain. Some reactors got confused on this.
Also in the Manga, Gojo was NOT exhausted. Not sure why the animators decided to go that route. Something like this wouldn't exhaust him lol.

I think why Gojo can tell that it is not Geto right away is the fact that he have the six eyes, its like a Byakugan(If you ever watched naruto) that instead of the flow of chakra it can see the flow of curse energy in the body like an infrared that is actually why he is constantly wearing a blindfold to minimize that weirdness in his vision
But Gojo says that all the information that his eyes are providing to him are telling him that it's the actual Geto. The only reason he knows it's not him it's because of how much he knew and even trusted him so much that he couldn't believe that the man in front of him was the actual Geto.

Gojo didnt focused on mahito & company because they were more powerfull than te current normal humans, so if he attacks them, there was a possibility that he cancell the infinite void stun.
So he prioriced taking out the transfigured humans to save the most people he could.

Gojo killed Geto at the end of jjk 0 movie. That’s what fake geto is talking about because they obviously just left his body there and gave the brain thing in his head a chance to steal his body.

You gotta realize Gojo is so strong the writer had to find a way to remove him from the story. It was the only way to let the other characters have their moments and possibly grow as characters and in power. That's how strong Gojo is.
299 seconds is a lot of time yes but keep in mind that means he was killing more than three of the transfigured humans every second, and he kept that pace for almost 5 minutes that is ridiculous speed and stamina
Geto died in the movie he would never be this cruel and this good at fighting/plotting. This guy better using Getos body then geto himself.
