HOW ABOUT SOME “ORUTU” FROM THE LUO OF TANZANIA?
Originally Lango being part of nilotes kalenjins were left in Ethiopia during first migration after traveling together with Egypt, luo left Lango or Kalenjins in Ethiopia or abysinyia that's why they say they came from Ethiopia but all the nilotes came from Egypt
Thank for bino Pacu I Lango
Conditioning kumam people to belong to atekere or iteso people doesn't add any significant value to Teso progeny but if they want to get Los with Luos on the basis of language orientation which can be treated as cultural usurpation let be, but I was only trying to guard my inherent identity that i don't become like Ukrainian rejecting a Russian or a South Korean rejecting a north Korean or a Palestinian rejecting his closest affinity the Jew for selfish reasons and i don't want drawn to petty linguistics debates who see and are basically blind
That kumam guy is much more of Arab against a Jew or a Russian denying affinity with a Ukrainian or a Ukrainian refusing to recognize a Russian or a Chinese denying affinity with a Korea or a thaiwanese or a chitagonian of Myanmar or kachin, Mon or Karen or rohingya
The word amolotari is basically ateso word including emaido which means groundnuts. In a nutshell, a luo according to linguistic and cultural backgrounds is basically a progeny of the iteso people which is also the sole stem of atekere speakers, where ",atakere" means a boat or ship which was used for water navigation and fishing as a vessel, it's for these reasons in itseo there's a clan called "ikomolo" meaning the sons of omollo those who when they taste the first 🍓 fruits of any tree they become bitter, there's not any clans in luo which can claim to have sired iteso in anyway and for that reason the main roots and bedrock of Nilotic speakers of the nile reparation region stems from iteso including a number of bantu cluster of languages particularly the Niger-Congo languages
This guy has corrupted the true kumam cultural attributions for selfish gains, even a foreigner who's never stayed with them for long as a fast time can easily unfathom the underlying lies created by language orientation
Miel is a term used to mean dance in Luo and in ateso it's called "aileje or akileje" ekosio in ateso means a lyric while in Luo it's weri, the fact that the narrator knows very little about culture and he's an imposter and liability. Next time my Luo brother who interviews please do thorough research and don't rush things, people from Teso are much reserved and guided and don't engage in cultural usurpation, you've witnessed yourself your cultural candidate from kumam is a sell out half-baked without any substantial significance, 90 % of his cultural attributions despite having linguistic similarities stems from ateso speakers and traditions. At a certain times of human history you cannot manipulate culture for selfish advantages and aggrandisement k'ogot I believe you have grasped some cultural attributions of retardation, whenever I read Luo ethnic cluster profiles a majority of Luo are misled to believe that the kumam are an affiliate and affinity of the Luo which is wrong, their dialect together iteso of soroti is closely related to turkana and karimojong as well as the jie than Luo and ateso spoken in kenya and tororo uganda and bugiri is a divergent variant influenced by neighboring bantu and especially Swahili but nevertheless retain most linguistic similarities despite speaking difficulties characterised by articulation speed
Can he name how twins are named in kumam? What's the name of the first child among the kumam, and what about the second child among twins? If one of the twins dies how will the surviving child named and celebrated? How was mourning conducted and how many days was mourning to last in case of death? What about defraying expenses, how was it done? Were mourners fed at a particular time? What necessited multiple wives in kumam and how legitimate was the second wife to the first one wife?
Can that the narrator being interviewed give the names of clans in any case they correspond with Luo clans and culture than circumventing issues shameless
th-cam.com/users/shorts5nlRUHbXKrM?si=tLV7cBxIIj-zL2Tc
Language is basically a cultural feature and not a genetic feature or factor, I can speak Luo fluently and I am not a luo
This kumam guy is demented, his original roots are basically iteso not luo, they only adopted luo language because of higher proximity with Luos and intermarriages and partly civil wars that rocked that section of the Ugandan republic and additionally they opted to lean towards luo for political favours at the time when luo enjoyed political favour and supremacy. Even at present i am told there's a melting pot of cultures in that region with respect to civil wars and political turmoil that rocked Uganda hence midwifing a n additional language called "ikokolemu" with a variance of Luo and ateso languages, from the look of things the guy is living in denial when he mentions many ateso words more fluently than Luo, he should be reminded people never like assimilating other languages and groups of people like the Luo do in any case such magnitude occurs, such groups are initiated into the community through a special ritual as a clan for future references and rememberances provided they identify with particular clan totems and it's for that reason Luos are represented in Teso as "ikomolo clan" considered if they eat the first fruit 🍓 of any tree 🌴 they become bitter either on cultural, religious or political perspectives
I got it from this video that the separation at Pakwach involved four sons namely Obongo (Labongo), Gipir,Nyipir, and Ovungu who was left at the dispersion point to take care of the shrine -Wang Lei
That guy is just a puppet and stooge who has lost his cultural identity and he's basically trying to justify the unknown, he claims his clan is iraraka, those are clans associated with iteso, he claims in kumam language a foreigner is called emoit which is basically ateso word, in luo a foreigner is jamwa how can claim to be affiliated to luo when he doesn't gasp basic Luo words and vocabulary? The guy is divergent and doesn't understand cultural convictions and tenets even his dualectal articulations justify he's basically affiliated to iteso than luo, it's like those contaminated iteso cultural traditional attributes in the book entitled "asonya k'oteso" where others came with a debilitating counterfeit "the luo during the aconya" i don't know what aconya means in Luo but in iteso it means ancient historical backgrounds before the advent of white occupation and thereafter written by okuda and D. Okalany , this book some historical attributes, witchcraft particularly the use a medium called ajokia which the luo call ajuoke, these were guardian spirits attributed to withchdoctors who prescribed the way of human life and stems from the word "schoko or ajoko" meaning to shepherd like man who keeps livestock leads them to grasslands and returns them to the homestead and during religious invasion these spirits became tormentors and are called ajokini or ajokia in plural and one spirit of that nature assumes the name ajokit and by extension it was thought to send people to commit suicide or any other bad things which translated to satan during religious era to date
Than historically is lost and is trying malign and distort historical backgrounds for selfish gains and aggrandisement, his version of explanation is punctuated with ambiguity and denial of the true facts which defines kumam were the original iteso who splitted out of some conflicts from the main stem called ilugumi
In my own research, "kumam" are basically iteso additional splinter groups like the jie, karamojong, turkana and the rest, most clans in kumam are more of Iteso just langi more often identify with the iteso in terms of their clans whereas the language is more of luo dialects than ateso
@KP Jaluo Abroad. This message is for you if possible, for the sake of those who want to support you through mobile money, where you said go fund me, could you please state your full name as it is in your bank account, then followed by a mobile number- you can leave this number only for receiving support not mixing with your other numbers. It is easy for some people to put little support that way than through go fund me. Also I encourage all of us to try and write/translate our comments in mother tounges where possible 1) for sustainability/revitaliztion of our mother tounges, decolonization of the mind etc 2) for our ethnic groups who do not read nor write English, we do not want them to be left out. Thank you.
@papd3532 I cannot see my comments, you probably deleted these. I was saying that you brought confusion because you had stated extensively that Acoli conqured/assimilated Langi and others, now you have changed it by stating that it was the British who conqured Langi. Although you have written a lot almost in all topics writing the same statements over and over, I think it is worth mentioning to the viewers why you retracted your statements and on what evidence. Also I encourage all of us to try and write our comments in mother tounges as well for 1) for sustainability/revitaliztion of our mother tounges 2) for our ethnic groups who do read nor write English. Thank you.
I got some of my answers.
How pleasant! I see soldiers here. Does this mean that the national government fully recognize this leadership. Where did we go wrong in Tanzania?
Our Families migrated further south..we are still here(TzLuo)
@@ritha963 But something is terribly wrong with us. Maybe the system of governance in Tanzania doesn't favour us.
The Acholi diet in itself tells a story about Luo migration . The migration was most certainly driven by the search for new fishing grounds. The settlement of Luos along Lake Victoria and the Acholi being the only Luo group not reliant on fish suggest that the Acholi lost access to fishing grounds, possibly to the Dinkas. This loss, potentially including cattle, forced some to adopt a non-fishing, plant-based diet. Others chose to migrate, settling in areas around Lake Victoria, where they believed they could overwhelm the Bantus. Along the way, they even established dominance over Bunyoro as the Babito Dynasty. Those who migrated became the Luos of Kenya. Alur, Padhola, and the Luos of Kenya and Tanzania are most likely all offshoots of the Acholi.

I think lango is just trying to rewrite the history. I think some have an ateker clans while others have luo clans. To me lango speaks pure luo like shilluk
Imat, won kwogo, ole,... are these Lwo/Luo words? Lango does not speak pure Luo, but a hybrid of Ateso and Lwo. "th-cam.com/video/hxAeedsDfa4/w-d-xo.html" that was ancient lango counting. There is a guy who said ape was 1, aree was two etc. Is that shilluk language?.
@papd3532 Can you please list all the anthropologists that you said settled for "Luo-Langi"? As for research this started in 1800s and before 1900s, several anthropologists had already concluded that Lango, Kumam, Teso etc were Nilo-Hamites (Ateker). Only Driberg's research of 1923 tried to link Langi with Acholi of Uganda, Alur, Jopadola, Luo of Kenya but he still stated that Lango are Nilo-Hamites (Ateker) together with Teso Koromajong, Kumam etc. Then several anthropologists disagreed with Driberg they stated that Acholi, Alur, Luo in general are not part of Langi. Upto now most anthropological studies stated that Langi are Ateker Nilo-Hamites, they are not part of Luo/Lwo. One example "Uzoigwe, G. N. The beginnings of Lango society : a review of evidence. OCLC 38562622"
ANDU AKITI AMOGA. AKINYOBA. JERA KATADDU.
The revival of the ethno-kingdoms in Uganda is an indirect way of pacifying and dividing the groups in Uganda to avoid a nationalistic approach to solving Uganda's problems as this might expose the weaknesses of the national government . Groups must maintain an interdependent disposition with the nation not independent otherwise future survival is not guaranteed . Modern states are just an evolution of human survival instincts .
By encouraging promotion of sectarian identities Yoweri Museveni has managed to maintain a militarized grip over Uganda for 40 years hence the LRA Luo-Acholi rebellion led by JOSEPH KONY ,Okot Odhiambo et al . A rebellion that lasted from 1987-2017 one of the longest rebellions in history in the world .
Promotion of unique Lango identity and territory is economic and pegged on resource distribution and not validated by actual Socio-Cultural history that validates true Lango assimilation into Nilotic Luo . The soldier interviewed also might struggle with psycho-social and cultural dissonance found among some members of assimilated groups .
@@papd3532 This man is bad. How many Luo Acoli are serving in the government army? You are still making it look like the whole Acoli as a Luo group rebelled against Kaguta. Kony did not start in 1987. Also do not think you can just dump anyone onto this Luo/Lwo ethnic group as if you are the Creator of Heaven and Earth. We have our own laws which govern our cultures, ethnicities, and since you do not want to refer to, nor respect our elders, we politely let you know here that none of those people will become Lwo/Luo no matter how long you wirte.
@papd3532 The revival of traditional leadership institutions in Uganda was not forced by Museveni. It arose out of popular demand. It is a fallacy to say it was forced.
@@apollo6154 Is that what he told you? reality and what you see is different . Always read between the lines .
Itiyo tickets maber. Manyna the the remnants of luo culture in ancient Greek. The meaning of Greek god of sun which is a luo sir name "Appollo"
Uganda president Milton Obote(Luo-Langi) and Kenya VP Oginga Odinga(Luo-proper) were close friends during their days at Makerere and participated in forums to unite Nilotic Luo peoples of Northeast ,North, Central and East Africa (at least 20-25 million ) . Historically Lango were distinct but present DNA reveal that Lango, depending on family tree, have variations of Nilotic Luo DNA and Nilo-Hamitic Ateker . Some Lango therefore see themselves as distinct others see themselves as Nilotic Luo .
Historians and Anthropologists settle for Luo-Langi as a result of more than 500 years of interactions . Luo-Suba have similar assimilation history . Some see themselves as Nilotic Luo , others as Bantu Suba , historians and anthropologists as Luo-Suba . The Luo also influenced and provided Baganda, Banyoro and Batoro rulership in the past .
Historically Lango were a collection of ethno groups(Ateker) linked to Turkana ,Iteso, Toposa, Karamajong and etc but by the 15th century became subject to Nilotic Luo influence and assimilation including intermarriage as revealed by present day DNA .
The complexity of interactions between different Luo groups and Lango including Language and intermarriage forced historians and Anthropologists to refer to the group as Luo-Lango or Luo-Langi . Some historians and anthropologists still prefer distinguishing the groups . The Luo still refer to some Nilotic groups like the Kalenjin, Karamoja as Lango . But the Luo consider the Lango as part of Luo through assimilation like the Suba .
@@papd3532 Lango are Ateker we do not consider them as part of Luo, do not be mistaken. You can fool others but you cannot fool everyone. Basuba, Kumam and Langi are not part of Lwo/Luo.
@@Mrpwocber You're right. Others in this space, want to distort historical facts. I wonder for what benefit! To me, what matters today, is whether one is able to put food on the table for him/herself and family. The Lango/Langi have affirmed their belonging to Ateker by participating in Ateker festival that ended in Soroti city recently. Are commenters in this space smarter than all those Lango/Langi elders and people? Let's rest this case and discuss more important matters of peace, unity, and prosperity.
The Lango were among the groups that provided the Nilotic Luo one of the toughest resistance in their Southward movement . The Nilotic Luo prevailed and assimilated ,the Lango first linguistically, then socially and culturally in other areas as the Lango intermarried and adopted governance structures similar to Nilotic Luo like having a Rwot or chiefdoms . Like Rwot Olet Apar .
Okot P'Bitek a Uganda Luo-Acholi Poet ,Lawyer and Social Anthropologist wrote extensively on the socio-cultural integration including intermarriages between the Luo-Acholi and Luo-Langi in his dissertations at Oxford University London in the 1960s .
The Nilotic Luo assimilated different groups including the Bantu Suba who migrated from present day Uganda to present day Kenya, Tanzania and were assimilated by Niloitc Luo of Tanzania and Kenya (Obama,Lupita Nyongo group)hence the Luo-Suba .
The Luo Jo-bito clan replaced the Bachwezi dynasty of Bunyoro Kitara setting the stage for one of the most successful dynasties in present day Uganda the Luo-Babito .
The Nilotic Luo had skilled warriors like Owiny and Adhola who steered their settlements in Kenya and Tanzania . Kenya, Tanzania Luo are amalgamation of the groups from Uganda including Luo-Acholi, Luo-Padhola ,Luo-Langi, Luo-Alur etc and Kenya, Tanzania Bantu traces like Abaluhya,Abakuria,Abagusii and Abasuba(assimilated to Luo-Suba) .
@@papd3532 They refused to give Okot Bitek his PhD award because the colonalists wanted to make you Langi Lwo/Luo through his thesis and Mr. Okot refused, that this is not true, you Langi learned the language, cultures of Lwo/Luo but that does not make you Luo/Lwo. They probably poisoned him for this, he knew their evil plans against the Lwo/Luo people.
The intercultural assimilation of the Langi into Nilotic Luo cannot be reversed since DNA reveals some Langi have more Acholi than Ateker due to intermarriages just like the Bantu Suba assimilation into Nilotic Luo or the Nilo-Cushitic tutsi assimilation by Bantu Banyarwanda hutu into Banyarwanda tutsi .
Assimilation is extremely complex and the Nilotic Luo, more than many other groups in the continent of Africa and beyond mastered this process by grafting other groups into Nilotic Luo clans linguistically, socio-culturally, economically and through intermarriage . All assimilated groups into Nilotic Luo adopted economies including River-Lake fishing, Nilotic pastoralism and small scale farming as practice by historic Nilotic Luo.
@@papd3532 You are not the Lwo authority, nor are you the authority of the Langi, Suba, Kumam etc. You do not determine their ethnicity. To avoid confusion, your original ethnic group is where you belong, there is no question about this. Our elders will not tolerate this confusion any longer. The Langi, Kumam have been read out in the Ateker reunion just concluded yesterday. Our Lwo people were not part of the reunion but were called to witness this. You are nilo-hamites Ateker, we cannot go back on this.
The Lango were assimilated over 5 centuries by the Nilotic Luo-Acholi hence Luo-Langi but the conflict between Luo-Acholi and Luo-Langi soldiers in 1985 in Uganda leading to a coup detat by Gen Bazillio Olara Okello(Luo-Acholi) and Gen Tito Okello(Luo-Langi) against Milton Obote(Luo-Langi) revived Lango identity questions particularly among former soldiers . Gen Tito Okello and Gen Bazillio Olara Okello together with Gen David Oyite Ojok(Luo-Langi) had supported Milton Obote and also restored Obote against Idi Amin in 1979 .
The Nilotic Luo assimilated multiple dozens of groups in their southward movement including multiple Bantu groups such as Suba and multiple Nilo-Hamitic, Nilotic, Nilo-Cushitic groups such as Ateker Kumam and Lango . The assimilation included clan grafting where new groups declared allegiance to the Nilotic Luo and developed Nilotic Luo clan systems through intermarriages, assimilating linguistically, culturally and socio-economically .
The Nilotic Luo of Sudan/Lower Egypt including the Luo-Bor,Luo-Jur Chol and Luo-Balanda have at least 1000 clans which represent the historical Nilotic Luo federal system of governance . Other Nilotic groups like the Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania also maintain clan system(kinship) . The Luo of Kenya have at least 35-47 distinct clans some of which spread into Tanganyika . Tanzania a total of 18 Nilotic Luo clans . The Luo-padhola of Uganda have at least 60 clans with 20 assimilated clans .
At least 4-5million Nilotic Luo in Tanganyika,5-6million Luo in Kenya, at least 8million Luo-Alur spread across DRC Congo and Uganda and millions other Luo groups across East, Central, North/North-East Africa etc .
Historically both Khartoum and Omdurman were named by Nilotic Luo peoples of Egypt and Sudan before Arabization . The first encounter between Nilotic Luo and Arab in Aegen and Abu Simbel in Egypt involved conflict and the Arab referred to the Black people they encountered the Acholi hence the Nilotic Luo-Acholi of Sudan,Central Africa Republic,Chad and Uganda .
The Nilotic Luo are diasporic(at least 20-25million spread out at least 9-12 territories including Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya ,DRC Congo, Chad, Central Africa Republic, Sudan/Lower Egypt, Ethiopia Gambella/Eritrea, Cameroon Luo- Bantu assimilated by late 1990's) and settled thousands years with skilled warriors(e.g Owiny, Adhola, Obando Mumbo, Ogutu Kipapi, Lela Kabanda, Tawo Kogot, Onyango Randar, Oracha Rambo, Lwanda Magere and others) through conquest, intermarriage and assimilation e.g Luo-Suba in Kenya, Tanzania and Luo-Babito/Luo-Langi/Luo-Kumam in Uganda with tendencies for large families thanks to history of polygamy in the past like all other AFRO groups .
Other Assimilated groups in Kenya and Tanzania included Luo-Marachi(Abamarachi),Luo-Wasweta(Abasweta),Luo-Kavirondo(Abarondo), Luo-Kanjuro(Abanjuro), Luo-Mikiria(Abakiria), Luo-Basi(Ababasi), Luo-Mugirango(Abagirango) . The Kavirondo were the original occupants of the L.Victoria region in Western Kenya before Luo occupation and assimilation .
The Luo conquered several kingdoms in the past through their southward movement and contributed to banyarwanda tutsi southwest movement to present day Rwanda/Congo, influencing rulership for Luo-babito under Bunyoro Kitara and Baganda Kingdoms in Uganda .

In 1985 DANIEL MOI of Kenya denied Uganda president Milton Obote asylum after Gen Tito Okello took power through a coup supported by his army commander Gen Bazilio Olara Okello . Daniel Moi had a strained relation with VP Oginga Odinga of Kenya who was best friends with Milton Obote of Uganda .
VP Oginga Odinga of Kenya, President Milton Obote of Uganda and President Julius Nyerere of Tanzania were friends . VP Oginga Odinga and Milton Obote both attended Uganda's Makerere University and were later part of Luo Union of East, North East and Central Africa and Luo Thrift of East Africa . Julius Nyerere(grandmother Luo-Suba) also attended Uganda’s Makerere University .
Then how many Luo politicians were assassinated? Obote laid the foundation of all the political problems of the Luo people, whilst pretending that he was a Lwo both in Kenya and in Uganda, according to the secret documents that we have. He is the ENEMY of Lwo/Luo he is not a Lwo and will never be a Luo. You never relent, you come, that you are Luo, you have DNA, and assimilation etc but inside you know you are deadly. We do not accept people into our ethnicity by the dictaties and terminology of foreigners.
Thanks for deep history
President Milton Obote was close friends with Kenya VP Oginga Odinga both graduates of Makerere and founders of Kenya’s Independence party . He was Luo-Langi also Luo-Lango . The Lango are Nilotic historically linked to the Ateker, Turkana, Toposa, Karamoja but were assimilated by southward Nile moving Luo through Linguistic, Cultural and Inter-marital integration like the Luo-Suba and Luo-babito .
Similar to the nilo-cushitic banyarwanda tutsi assimilated by bantu banyarwanda hutu . Today DNA variation similar among banyarwanda . The Lango and Luo made contact over 500 years ago . Oxford educated Uganda Luo-Acholi Poet and Lawyer Okot P'Bitek dissertation on the Luo-Langi and Luo-Acholi paints a picture of a complex history of the Lango .
The Luo origins in Lower Egypt/Sudan are clear but Lango origin is multifaceted tracing connections to the Luo-Shilluk clans in Ethiopia and Nilotic Iteso, Turkana, Toposa Karamoja clans . Some members of this group see themselves as strictly Lango others see themselves as Luo . Social Anthropologists and historians including Prof Bethwel Ogot have concluded that the Lango are Luo-Langi like Luo-Suba . They also speak Leb Lango which is Luo . Also DNA reveals Nilotic admixtures with Luo from intermarriage .
To this day the Luo call the Kalenjin and related groups Lango .The Luo are diasporic and spread through conquest, intermarriage and assimilation through skilled warriors like Owiny . The Lango initially provided resistance to Luo migration but were assimilated to Luo-Langi .
The Kalenjin groups in Kenya such as Nandi and Kipsigis share a Nilotic history with Luo,also provided resistance had historical conflicts over cattle . They were similar to the Ateker, Turkana,Toposa and Karamoja etc hence referred to as Lango by the Luo . The Luo also named some of their Children Jalango in cases of intermarriage with the Kalenjin and Ateker groups . Jalango is therefore a common name among Luo who came into contact with Kalenjin and Ateker .
@@papd3532 This is the only person who can talk about Lango people even if he is not a Lango person. This is the only person who is not lazy in doing research. There is no way one can edit or erase history. Lango history has a stamp on both Luo and Ateker. It is upon the people Lango decide to be in Ateker or Luo communion
I’m here🎉
I am so proud of Okum to form luo group there 😊😊😊as i follow the story closely so all those people saying the came from ethiopia even acholi which is the head of luo in uganda as i may say they claim to that they came from ethiopia kambela😊so which mean we are all luo Lets unite to help our people across the globle
Proud Luo and i will remind as my children will follow please KP Lets find aways of uniting our people and can you please do the research on livehlyhood ,how luo and related luo speaking people Live, 'wealthy life or they are the poorest in Africa and then check in term of political involvement ..i will be so much happy for that I am Luo Acholi in kitgum - uganda
Retire soldier misleading people so sad for that 😮😮😮Lets us be sincere here , if i may ask what is Lango language before acholi I am acholi but what i know Lango is the second group of luo after acholi because of their close language when i was growing up ,the Ateker Langis claim to be their ethnic means in acholi the second chief like LC1 of this days but not what they means I dont understanding why Langis are running away from holding responsibility us Lou 😅😅 Lets take simple look in bantu society the first tribe is baganda, second basoga followed by bagisu and so on, just like Acholi first, lango second Alur then others follow depending how close the language are spoken Anyway as an acholi we are luo and we shall defend Luo territory until the end of the world 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪one love🫶🫶🫶🫶🥰 To End my story the retired soldier claim to know everything is old for nothing he didnt do any research how Ethnicity are formed
@@Uganda2theworld When you said Basoga are second to Baganda, then I realized everything you wrote is very unresearched and trash bin worthy just like you said of the retired Colonel. Basoga people are migrants from Bunyoro. Actually they are sub prefecture of Bunyoro. That's why it's a chiefdom not a kingdom. The King of Bunyoro is the one who crowns the Kyabazinga of Busoga. If you talk in terms of Lango, Acholi, Alur. Alur and Japadhola are more Luo than Acholi basing on origin, dialects and cultural practices. Acholi people are a bit very expressive people. No one in 21st century can talk best about Lango people rather than themselves. I have tried to hear from Kumam, Itesots, Acholi, Japadhola and Baganda. All their narratives do not add up. So, the people who know who they are, where they come from and where they are going are the 'Lango' themselves.
@@martinokwir7628 The arrival of the Luo in Bunyoro Kitara was dramatic . The Bachwezi had previously invaded and occupied Bunyoro Kitara and were subdued by the Luo through conquest .
@@martinokwir7628 The Luo had skilled warriors in their southward movement and are among the few groups in the continent presently spread out in at least 9 territories including Sudan/Lower Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, DRC Congo, Chad, CAR, Ethiopia .
My wife is from there ❤❤❤
@robertodundo2269 I read your response saying some thing about origin of all Luo coming from Lango. I would advise you to please refrain from that guy called Bosco Opio. He wrote a book Acholi Is Lango then contradicted himself, now he has changed the title to Acholi & Lango. If you check how he has been writing in the past, this man is more political than thought. See the cover of his book with a foot print on Acoliland, his plan with the supporters of Rwandese unknown individuals, is not healthy. He is lying, our history is not taught to us by the colonial analysis of Driberg. We know our history from our Lwo elders. This Opio Bosco can deceive galible people but not everyone, I have got valid evidence against him which is why he has deleted all the comments I wrote. The conclusion is that Langi are Ateker (Nilo-Hamites, aka Plain Nilotes), they are not Lwo.
