I started walking 8,000 steps every day about a month ago. It fits perfectly into my morning routine, and I noticed within the first week how much clearer my mind felt and how energized I was to start the day. I really enjoy it, even when it rains. I listen to podcasts and use the time to process thoughts or ideas. I'm getting to know my neighborhood better, and it's improving my overall health.

Im 36 now, moved to Italy (I'm from Brazil) trying to figure how can I pursue my dream and what I love do. I love art, but my daily work consumes a lot of me. So I managed to work with graphic design, because this is kinda near to what I search. Today I found myself and struggling to learn how to draw and do computer graphic design to create characters. Im really committed to study and get my level up. The immigration process took a lot of me on those 3 years, but the next year will be the turning point and Im super excited to get this new perspective and evolution. I think this 1 year subscription could help a LOT to be more focused.

I've been working as a freelance illustrator for 10 years and commissions, order packing and making video's have taken up a lot of my time. I would like to start devoting some time on a passion project that I have been putting off. I have been wanting to build a world around the characters that I draw and eventually create an art book that contains this world and my characters & body of illustrated work. It's all in my head still, there are many ideas. Since it's a bit daunting and I can get caught in black & white thinking, I haven't REALLY started taking concrete steps. What I would like to do in 100 days, is work a little bit on this project every day. On busy days, the tasks can be as small as naming a type of tree on the island I am envisioning, or as grand as creating a brand new character or painting of the world. I have already got a sketchbook, a name, and I am eager to start :)Thank you for the inspo!

I committed to regular life drawing for several years and saw huge improvement in my figure work and general observation skills. I even got exhibited. I’ve since drawn and self-published a few comics, and I’ve identified perspective as a weakness. I’m still doing life drawing, but I’m deliberately studying perspective and started regular urban sketching too. After that I want to commit to imaginative perspective drawing and create my own environments, with the goal of publishing a zine of those drawings by next spring 🙂 Setting goals is so important, and a great way to develop a range of skills

Just wanted to say I've really been enjoying your videos! I'm a huge fan of daily challenges like these. I completed 100 bird paintings in 100 days back in 2020, and it totally transformed my art practice. A few months ago (maybe a year ago, I can't keep track anymore) I had asked you a question about fitting in the commercial illustration world with my very specific niche and after thinking about the feedback I got from you, I kind of realized that maybe commercial illustration isn't the best fit for me after all and that's helped my career goals fall more in line with my art goals. So thanks, keep up the great work!

This is really helpful, especially at this time of year. I think starting something in November & December gives you a rolling start going into January. My aim for 2025 is to continue developing my illustration style and create 12 illustration pieces for a portfolio. Good luck everyone! 😊

I’m a returning student so I’m keenly aware of the many, many things that I need to work on 😅 but I think what sounds like a doable thing alongside my regular studies would be try to and develop my anatomy and character design skills at the same time. I could find an interesting pose each day and first do a traditional life drawing and then see how that might translate into a more stylised character drawing and play around with that. So first step might be source a bunch of reference images. Doesn’t necessarily have to be all 100 but enough to keep me going for a while so I don’t start off the session looking for an image, I can just start. Then schedule in a block of time to do it each day. I like habit stacking so that means pairing it next to something I already do each day so I remember to do this new thing. So maybe after eating lunch or while dinner cooks, or just before I start on my coursework.

Oh crap I think we're past the first 20, but I'll set my intentions anyway! I'm being realistic to try not to set myself up for failure, so I'm going to do 'something' positive towards my illustration career every day for 100 days, but a varied selection and a minimum of 30 mins. Which sounds small, but it's meant to for my adhd brain. I also know I'll usually get stuck in and spend a lot more time!

Dude! This is exactly what's been in my head for (ever) weeks! Thanks for this! My 100 days: get more skilled using Fresco. I use it *sometimes* when I need vector art but mostly use Procreate. I just recently did this. I am in a 30 day face drawing challenge. Doing it I realize one thing that holds me back is burn out. Know that I know this, I have noticed I get too focused on one aspect of art. I then just keep doing that and get burnt out. My new plan is to switch from abstract to figure drawing, landscape...etc, when I start feeling the burn out coming on.

That's very nice of you you to do this video, I have to say. I did my "100 days" during lockdown. I really wanted to leave that period in life with a skill and I've decided to start learning lettering, so I've bought my first iPad. From that moment till this day I've started a masters in illustration which will finish next year. During my masters I discovered your book and your socials and its been helping me a lot to improve my skills - I am not even the illustrator I want to be but for sure I am on my path to grow. For my 100 days I am diving 30min on TH-cam watching Chris Piascik video's and learning more and more about Fresco, animation and vector texture. Thanks for the encouragement in my own journey and growing. It's nice to have you not knowing who I am but inspiring me to get better.

I've made the decision to take a year break off from college and commit to art for the next 365 days. For the first 100 days, I will be committing this time to doing Commissions and Fan work to get at least 50k followers. The next 100 days will be opening up a print shop to sell my art online. And the last 100 days will be me discovering other income streams through Patreon, Fanbox, or maybe even TH-cam. I believe I will be capable of it if I simply do and stop thinking too hard about it. Great video man, This opened up a lot of stuff I've already been through and going through right now. Been working on my art for almost 5 years now and I still feel like I'm far from my ideal situation. I've set the time, so hope I get there.

what do you recommend to start ? Here are some things I've been wanting to do more consistently 1. Fine art and Illustration- I want to practice all the foundations of art but there are so many things... like perspective, light and shadow, form, color theory, mediums (watercolor, color pencil, digital). I love illustration, esp children illustration and cute things and watercolor. 2. Graphic design foundations, becoming expert in adobe software and figma. As well as try out some 3D programs such as womp and AI programs. I am a recent graduate and my goal is to find a full time job that is suitable... been trying for a year now.. 3. Photography , editing and video editing 4. Growing my social media, practicing content creation for TikTok, Instagram, TH-cam for my different interest and niches such as illustration, design, crochet and crafts ,arts, travel, food, photography, lifestyle, wellness/ health. Do you think I need to choose one and separate all the accounts or combine them? Right now I have 8 accounts... 5. Starting my own business, such as making illustration into merchandise... crochet, or a jewellery, clothing or non toxic makeup brand. or a non toxic homeware line for containers, cookware, etc. 6. Taking care of my health mentally and physically.... sleeping early, having healthy meals on time, mediate, exercise daily. What do you advise on choosing what to focus on? It's quite overwhelming and I am jumping around it seems especially when urgent things like job applications come up or job assesments.

I have an online class on watercolor. I signed up for it more than a year ago, but I never really dived into the lessons. For the next 100 days, I commit to focusing an hour at least to each lesson. I would say I'll finish a full lesson each day, but I know I'll struggle with that. So 1 hour of focused listening and learning, note taking, and doing exercises when there are any.

The first task I already do that took a little time to build: reading each night for 30 minutes. It's now habit, so I don't even think about it anymore. The second: If you've ever seen livpaintsbuildings (on most of the socials), she's one of the few ink/watercolour artists who I am insanely jealous of. I don't get jealous that way very often. So, about a year ago, I went through all my watercolour paper, cut it into small rectangles, and thought, hey, I'll spend time learning how to make ink drawings, and then learn the watercolour portion. A great site that will offer tons of challenges is Map Crunch. I have decided I'll do a 100 day challenge where I use a new Map Crunch randomly chosen house to make a portrait of. Then, I think it could extend into 200 days, because I could spend another 100 days learning how to use watercolour properly (something I've always wanted to achieve). While doing that, I will also be able to film it and put it on my JenniferLaynMakes YT channel (I just reserved the name this morning) and maybe do something I've never wanted to do - post on Tiktok and YT shorts? Or, I could do 15 minute daily videos where I do a sped up version with a voiceover. I know lots of people like doing vlogmas, and I think since it starts the day before my birthday, it might be a great day to start! I can get all my screen recording software ready to capture whatever image Map Crunch will conjure up, edit it all together, and post it each day. The third: end my addiction to sugar. If I have too much, I get aggressive the next day, so I tend not to leave the house, as I don't know how it will end. It also forces me to just take and take and take when there's snacks around, because I can't control myself. I spend far more at the grocery store on crap, when I really don't need to. I can't wait to see where this all ends up!! I've only just found you today, and now I'm subscribed. Thanks for the great video!

Amazing!!! This is a nice advise... I've been doing something I'd like to do often. I started to document little things of my daily life in a phone picture and within I draw or write something that made me imagine something. I do it in the Sketchbook app and I scribble with my finger. I've been sharing it on Instagram. To do it daily I'd focus on finding those things that give me joy and imagine something fun within. I'll keep sharing it on Instagram and the outcome would be to release creativity when I do bigger photograph illustrations for clients and not be intimidated. ❤

For the next 100 days, I would love to commit to really work on bigger illustrations that could be a part of my portfolio and that I can be proud of. That also means to be more patient and to work on an illustration for several days, not rushing and wanting to finish everything in a few hours. Also, I need to stop feeling intimidated by certain subjects that are tough for me to master and really practice drawing and painting them.

I'm very keen to create an animation project that I have been thinking about for a long time, and it always feels too overwhelming. So I'm going to commit to 30 minutes a day of work on that project for 100 days, Some days I will have more time to dedicate, but 30mins everyday is going to put a huge dent in the workload, and feels totally achievable! Thank you for this video :)
