My start in the illustration world was very lonely, I lacked any community that could give me the right feedback and support to build my career. So I feel very lucky to have joined The Illustrator's Guide's community. I have gotten tons of useful feedback from other illustrators, new ideas to freshen up my portfolio, and valuable guidance from James. Since I joined the community, I feel more supported and on track towards a successful career as an illustrator.
Hey Hey, Community is key IMO, we are one of the weakest parts of the chain, so every piece of professional support is more than welcome. I've been in for a while and I'm staying!😉
Yes! I love this community James, thanks so much for setting it up. I've tried a few illustration communities and this is by far my favourite. Great group 🎉
Brilliant initiative James-illustration by its nature is a solitary occupation and this community looks like a great gateway to liaising with fellow artists.
I've never been part of an illustration community, so I can't compare it to any other but what I can say is that I like being there hahahaha. I like having easy access to some real professionals. Thank you James for running it! I really value getting my butt kicked into the right direction! hehe P.S: I recommend using the platform in dark mode... looks cooler that way.
It sounds like a nice place. I feel lonely pretty often in my career, so can relate to that! I'm now working on my portfolio and thought I'd need some support on the way. But, I'm from Europe and credit cards are not so popular here. Is there a way to pay via IBAN or PayPal? Anyway, thanks for making the videos, I love them!

I really wanna join the community, just wanted to ask a quick question - do I need to have a complete website to join or I can build it on the go, and does quarterly mean we pay every 3 months but we have access throughout them? :))) Thanks in advance !

Hey, you don't need to have a website, no. And its like a monthly subscription, but every 3 months. :-)

Just curious, are there more beginner illustrators in the community? Or more experienced? Or a mix?
It's mostly people at the start of their career, but there are some more experienced illustrators too who can offer guidance
