I think the biggest difference between a professional artist doing their own gallery work to sell, and a pro illustrator (I’m the latter) is the ability to be the artist and put the emotion, blood sweat and tears and soul in … then hand it in, get feed back, be professional and lose the emotional thing, become a manager. Then take the work back and go back into artist mode. Usually with a quick ‘for goodness sake’, kick the metaphorical cat, (the real one would beat me up - she’s mean), then back to work.
Yeah, great point! Once your baby leaves your care, you have to have a bit of emotional distance to it. Feedback on the work isn't necessarily feedback on you as an artist
Thank you very much for the guidance, really appreciate it 🙏🏻 can I ask you what are some good resources to learn the details of an llustration process, for example, you mentioned that we may not know terms such as “six sheet” or “above the line” - which i really don’t, how do I learn this! Thank you once again ❤
That is a very good question. I don't know to be honest, although i'm sure Google can help! I should really write a guide for this-Thanks for the idea, i'll get on it.
James thank you for being an illustrator mentor and you deserve to be an intellectual expert in the world of illustrator. Greetings Hidayat from @hiyatslap Indonesia🇮🇩
