After listening to this piece the weirdest thing ever happened. My body, enlightened with this beautiful song, changed. I felt myself shrinking, my hands became pawed, I suddenly felt saddened. I crawled over to my mirror, and gazed in. Staring back was not the shell of a man that I was, but a hamster with a look on his face that told me that he, and only he, had experienced true pain. When I went up to my parents they told me nothing changed, I went to school, still no one noticed. This song made me realize a sad truth, I never transformed into a sad hamster, I always was a sad hamster. Thank you Ethan, for informing me, I will never look at life in the same way.

This piece has a quality like it’s always been there. But it also feels like it’s telling me something is missing. It feels very open and blank. So combined with that feeling of how it’s always been there and how it feels like something disappeared from the piece. It’s so good I love it! Condolences for your grandfather. I have no doubt he’d be proud of you for this piece.

I can't play any instruments, so I'm not very good at changing keys, but this song seems to change the key here and there without changing the atmosphere very much, and it feels like it's elusive, but I think it's a very technical skill. thought. This has a distinctly Tckaikovskian sensibility...Reminds me of his Manfred Symphony....with a bit of Dvorak thrown in; nice contrasting middle section with the bold brass flourishes.
