Moldy To Minty - 1G DSM Interior Revival | The Glossary

This 1G DSM once belonged to Nathan and now belongs to one of our closest friends. Moldy, dirty and oil stained, I had my work cut out for me. I apologize I don’t show the door panel clean up as the video didn’t turn out good at all. Also ignore my butt crack about half way through, I’ve lost a third my body weight and my clothes don’t quite fit the way I want as I’m learning my sizes haha. Eit...

“Vlog #1” keeping my daily routine going
My concern is for a 6'4 and 230 lbs guy , will it be comfortable?
What was the armrest you got on Amazon for the center console called?
I owned a Dodge Lancer. It was a great car...fun to drive, reliable, and economical. I drove from Maryland to Nova Scotia one long drive and the car was comfortable and the mileage was great. I still miss that car (and I would not have gotten rid of it, it was damaged in an accident which was not my fault). I couldn't find another one at the time that I could afford.
I love machines that do what they're supposed to. Still driving around in a 2011 Scion with a quarter million miles. If it goes kaboom, I might replace it with this
I took a 2024 through some of the Ohio rolling hills and it did absolutely fine. It's sluggish but it was never underpowered. With all seats filled, I could still hold speed and accelerate slowly up the steepest hills. Even steep and slightly muddy dirt roads weren't a problem. It's the definition of adequate and it's a perfect commuter. I drained the tank and cost me $20 to fill. My truck cost $100 to fill. For me, a slightly used Mirage would pay for itself within a year.
We're going to NASCAR in a Mirage! Giddy Up lol Seriously, I'm fix'n to get a Mirage for a 110 mile round trip daily commute. I currently daily drive a Jeep Gladiator 40 mile round trip commute. Looking for a cheep option for one year. Low cost with warranty. Mirage will get'r done! On an other note, 2025 Trump Tariff's may impact Import market, driving up sales costs. It's possible, in one year I hope to sell and get my money back. Will see.
daily drove a 4g37 talon. still have it but i messed up timing on it and bye bye compression. other than my mistake i made it was pretty reliable besides a few minor cheap fixes.
i bought my NA 91 laser rs about 7 months ago for a daily it has a five speed, it’s NA motor, and after fixing it up after it sat for 6 years and driving it i haven’t had one problem with it in the 7 months of owning it and daily driving it, i do own a 92 eclipse 1.8 or 4g37 auto for my daily daily, and i have a 91 talon tsi awd turbo stock motor upgraded turbo and injectors and i’ll say that the 91 laser rs with the na motor and manual transmission is the most reliable out of the three
Thank you very much for your honest review of this car. I come from Québec. I appreciated your comments and recommendations. ! :)
How many more horses
Do you use solid lifters for the process?
So does it disable the entire airbag system or just the steering wheel airbag? Also what was the weight savings compared to the old steering wheel?
I sold this car I bought a Base line Tesla Model 3.
Loved your video about the lancer. I have one. I’m sure you’ve never heard of. One of my biggest regrets selling the car. It was a 1981 Dodge Aries SE coupe. I think I bought it in 85 took out a big loan. Just drove it at around 105,000 miles. The carburetor for the 26 hemi that the car had the wax went bad in it and would not idle smoothly. And around 130,000 the transmission went. I still owed $4000 on the car, I went to Willimantic Connecticut to the junkyard cannot remember the name of it. They had a 86 New Yorker turbo with like 4000 miles on it. That was rear ended. The trunk lid was in the backseat. Long story short we dropped the k frame the New Yorker dropped the key frame out of the Aries K and the 2.5 turbo charge engine into the Aries K. Ran into wire harness problem had to replace the whole wire harness. And steering wheel also had to change the wheels to 14 inch and not 13 inch because they went clear brake calipers. Also a hood scoop in the hood fromDodge Daytona. I drove that car more than 100,000 thousand miles after that. Talking about a sleeper. Wish I had money back then to have kept it one of a kind.
Your trans whine is pretty loud, make sure to change the fluid and both filters.
NICE CAR.
I got a 2017 Mitsubishi mirage right before December 2023 for 7.7k USD and with 118k miles, and i love it! Since getting it, it's been the perfect car for a gig worker like me, and even without a back camera, i can see everything backing up perfectly. I even travel a lot on the highway, and it can go over 80 mph and handle it better than most other cars I've driven.
YOU ENCOURAGE ME THIS MOR NING I JUST BOUGHT THIS MIRAGE 2024 AND HAD DOU T BUT THANK g God for you helping me
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 Great review ! I am seriously looking for this car for my mother to get around in and this looks enticing for my senior mother .
After all these mods have you found any improvement with your gas mileage?
A very fine review of the Mirage. It seems like all the "experts" pan this little car, but every owner seems to love them. Thanks for posting this.
Very cool seeing this video about these cars as they're few and far between. My Mom had a 85 LeBaron GTS with those same awesome alloys you have there in the hatch. Maroon, maroon interior with digital cluster and turbo/automatic combo. It was a quick and great running car.
Yes. I'm currently looking at an 87' lebaron non turbo automatic transmission unfortunately, but still a neat car. Has a good title for $500. I'm not sure what I want to do
I first started with proctor and gamble in Cincinnati in 88 they gave me a lancer with 2.5 auto it was great car comfortable I could Cruse even being base motor at 80mph easy all day , they had over a 100 of these in there fleet the parking lot looked like a lancer factory it was easy to get your car confused if you weren't in you designated parking spot , thanks for the trip down memory lane , still work for the ol gamble hopefully to retire in oct 25
Great video 👍 Thanks very much. 🤓 I run a 2016 model in the UK. I do 5 miles a day….. It should last forever 😂 Keep up the good work!
I had a new 2020 that looked identical to yours. I used to get 52mpg which was amazing for a gas powered econo-box. Car isn't made to get out of its own way but I can tell you I wouldn't buy another after someone hit me and it got demolished. All 3 airbags deployed and it looked like it got ripped open by a can opener. Entire dash board popped out as well and I wasn't hit at more than about 30/35mph. Total loss. I think 2024 is the last year they are making it as well.
It runs fine in snow?
What happened with the car?
I wish Mitsubishi offered another engine size with more HP. Like the geo metro got the 1.0 3 cyl and the 1.3 4 cylinder
Just bought one today
1987 Dodge Lancer turbo, my first car, in my family for a long time prior / passed around and it was awesome!
I had that car in a five speed and the clutch on those things were horrible went through three clutches in a short time and it would just stop working not that I was slipping it and burning it out
This is the best combination for this car; turbo II with a 5 speed....wow. Without the turbo it was only like 100hp...when i traveled, i rented these and loved driving them.
Congrats my friend.
That is awesome! I’d like to get my 07 speed6 repaired for rusts as well if you do that job for others? I’m willing to pay good and do the drive !
These engines can actually do quite a bit. Proper sized turbo, intake/exhaust, you can hit 150-160hp which is insane considering how light the car is.
I have a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage ES Plus. The 7" Screen CD which will play CD & DVD! Yes DVD Movie Player Built in. Turn off the picture while Driving and When the Car Stops The Screen Turns Back On! I love my Mirage I am getting 45 to 50 Mpg. City and 62 Mpg. Highway. And CVT and Super Fast Drive Sport Mode DS Takes off at the light... Love Love Love my car!! Warranty is 10 years 160,000. km Powertrain Warranty. 5 Years Limited Warranty. & 5 Years Unlimited Roadside Assistance.. 10-5-5 Awesome!!
My 2nd car...1985 Dodge Lancer with the 2.2 4 cyl and 3 speed auto in 1986. I enjoyed that car for almost 3 years and 70k miles. Traded it in on a new 1988 Dodge Daytona 5 speed. Great car the Lancer!! Love that yours is a 5 speed!!
I love my Mirage, it's a great car. Timing chain, not a rubber belt, simple design, easy to maintain and great on gas. I bought a 5 speed manual for $4,000. Boom! For the price of tires I bought a certified used car.
I have been daily driving a 1ga GSX for about 3 years now, love it
fair and square review... the gas consumption is the real winner for this car. same experienced with my 2017 Mirage. dont have any complain with regards to the car's performance. its gets the job done moving you from point A to point B.
One of the best reviews.
Can u do a video on my car for upgrading it’s a safety hazard for me in the suburbs and Philadelphia
i have one now but red interior very clean, original exterior is gold but ima change the body & have it black i can’t wait
That car is a pile of crap!
Do you still have your Maroge? If so, how many miles and how has it been?
Hi I just got one and it is cute but how is it on the highway. My concern is that it seems to want to stay at 40-45 mph.
It can cruise smoothly on 50mph (80km/hr) on highway. Mine is 5 speed manual.
That looks like my Lancer I had in 1996 before I had an accident with it. I loved it.
yall ever get it installed? how was the backlash? did yall use the original clips?
mirage beat stock lancer 2.0 0-60
LOL I got 2022 g4 and the steering is still funky.
What trim level
