99 Vidas (PC) CO-OP Playthrough/Another object of immense power has fallen into the wrong hands.
99 Vidas (2016) by QuByte Interactive is a beat'em up game with interesting mechanics and setting, but not necessarily to our tastes. The game was made by a little-known Brazilian studio, but you have to admit that the guys did their job quite well. The story goes something like this....... title 99 Vidas ( 99 lives) is a powerful artifact that can affect the future of the universe, and in the wrong hands can pose a great threat. The artifact is found by an evil organization, and we simply must retrieve it to restore balance and order. The characters we play are a kind of chosen ones , described as guardians. The game is basically a standard Beat'em up, but with interesting and less interesting solutions. Cool for example is that each of the available characters uses to his advantage a certain element, which he composes into his blows. That is, lightning, water, earth or fire. We must admit that the animation of blows was very nicely done when, for example, in the middle of a blow fists are covered with fire, or for example during a ramming another hero creates a stone shield. The animations are quite smooth so it adds a really cool style to the whole combat experience. We also have to admit that the locations we will visit are very nicely done and full of details. Controls are very responsive and clear, as they should be in this type of games. The combat system consists of combinations of fists and legs, grabs and attacks. . We perform special attacks only when our special bar is half or full. This, of course, corresponds to the power of the special, so sometimes it is better to wait longer and use their full power, however, and it is quite large and very useful for boss fights. Now let's go to the less successful aspects in our opinion. The character progression system here was, to say the least, put in quickly and poorly thought out. It looks more or less like this: the more enemies we defeat, the more points we get to use between levels, for new skills or their upgrades. Basically, we discovered that the balance of moves is very uneven in this game, so there's no point in really buying all the moves and upgrading them to the max. There are combos which have a much shorter range, are generally slower, after their completion our character can't do anything for a while and is thus exposed to free damage, etc. You know where this is going. Between levels you can also buy additional lives, so instead of investing your points in additional skills, we recommend you to invest them in lives, as this is not an easy game. It took us a lot of tries to finish this game, and it's basically because of this lack of balance. it's best to buy the single most effective combo and basically use it throughout the game, because you want and believe me “Want” to have the most effective and deadliest combination as soon as possible. Why ? Because opponents in this game are no joke. Opponents in the blink of an eye can gather and surround you consuming your life bar in one moment, so you want to be able to eliminate them as quickly as possible. So basically going by this, the development opportunities that this game offers are actually its weakest point. In addition, the design of the characters, at least the main ones we play, seems to be so vague and uninteresting. I don't know, but I couldn't really find a character for myself here, and the one I chose was really random, as none of them convinced me by their design. We have 11 characters to choose from, but most of them will only be available after multiple playthroughs. The female counterparts of the guards are basically the same characters, just in a different setting and with slightly changed statistics. As for the rest, it's hard for me to say anything because we didn't have the opportunity to check them out. There is one more additional level that we forgot to record. Namely, it is a level in a post-apocalyptic climate, reminiscent of the fight with zombies from The Last of Us. We played it, but unfortunately it turned out that the material was not recorded. The game as a whole was really a great surprise, despite its balance and design problems. We were really delighted with it, and the gamelay made us happy. The gentlemen from QuByte managed to create a competent Beat'em up, which in its ending gives hope for a sequel. Whether this will be possible to achieve, I have no idea, but we wish them all the best that they will be able to achieve this intention in the future, because we would love to play a new part of this game. Overall, we highly recommend it.

    This game presents you with "The Girl" very early for a 10 minute chat starting at 5:50, then you never get to see her again for the rest of the game. (There are other female characters, but they're not as hot and don't seem to have as much interest in you either.) I came to this page via a search on TH-cam "Full Quite NES Playthrough" might have typed "gameplay" and your video popped up first in my search results. I decided to search thos gsme because I came across a web page that listed the top 500 indie NES games and this game was listed at the top. So far I've watched about 15 minutes of your game play it gives me Oregon Trail hunting areas but in modern day alien invasion, also has "They Live" vibe ( reference of a cult classic sci-fi movie for those that are younger likely never heard of the film, first time I saw it was like two yeara ago too, and MacGyver a teck savvy survivalist who can use any kind of everyday object for spy like tools. Also has a bit of Genius Jurassic Park vibe a game that came out on the next gen consoles. Seriously this looks more like a high functioning 16 bit gen game than something that came off of the 8 bit erra, the graffics, music, game play mechanics, movement of enemy sprites, and just to total variety of game play style from mini puzzles, to collecting and using ropes, fuses, or hanging off lesges, looks like quite the adventure. Ironically as good as rhis game is I never even heard of it before today. Thanks for making this walk through. Though I haven't played it yet it's nice to see a walk through of the game. Judging from your comment you also put a lot of time and effort into figuring how to beat this game like you said you have to have a plan going into the game to get through it. Also curious what other classic games youd recommend that perhaps didn't catch the spotlight during their peak era.

      @@bojcio Being totally honest, I don't care. I'm one of those who grew up on the original, and even though it was weak I had a lot of fun with it..... As did many other Poles. Also, you'll have to forgive my exaggerations because I just want this game to succeed and become a respectable brand in the future. I'm glad that the developers, despite the problems, sacrificed enough that the game finally saw the light of day. It may not be perfect and full of problems, but it is possible to improve it and make something special in the future.

      @@SQron188 I am one of those who went through the trilogy backwards. Starting with 3 and ending with 1. And I'll honestly admit that I am, however, from the OG turrican camp. The 1 started the adventure poorly but gradually got better and better and its culmination was satisfying. In the case of 2 for me it was the opposite, a powerful start and a gradual decline in quality, and a fatal final battle. I know I'm in the minority here, but that was my impression. I guess it's a matter of taste.

    I played this game a lot, recorded some playthroughs of my own, and even wrote down my notes for it into a kind of guide. And I do agree with some of the things you say in the description but at any rate, I always enjoy playing this game. It is genuinely satisfying to land your blows correctly and in time while blocking the enemies' swings (I think blocking is essential in this game).

    • @RetroMatter
      @RetroMatter 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SQron188 I used to have the original in a box. It used to be that you didn't appreciate the value of old games, and when you upgraded to a newer system the older ones landed in the garbage with all the accessories. Now I regret that. Especially since the last time I saw Doman for sale it cost more or less $625 and the offer disappeared the same day. As for the game itself, it is my favorite Amiga game. Approaches to gameplay vary, as I, for example, prefer to use dodging rather than blocking. Especially since blocking inflicts damage (chip damage) admittedly minimal, but still. Blocking is situational for me, as it's most useful on swampy levels where we can't jump and our crowd control is limited, or when enemies shoot from behind the screen with a bow/crossbow to avoid their projectiles. It's all a matter of approach. Which doesn't change the fact that this is one of the best one-button beat em ups..... If not the best. But my passion started to gain momentum over the years and I got myself two Amiga's in cardboard boxes one 600 and 1200, which I use from time to time sporadically because they are already museum pieces and repair are really expensive. And as for Doman I clearly agree..... Overall, it's a miracle that the game was so well balanced in an era where 2 people in a garage actually worked on the game. So many years have passed and there is still no good bloody equivalent in the genre for this game. I love its atmosphere and vibe. I can even say it is quiet unique for the entire genre.

      Little knew that talking was equal to a quick death, so he probably hoped that his companions would eventually recapture him in time. That's probably why he was so cocky. One way or another, the solution to this situation would always be the same.
