- Saturn Bomberman (1996) by Hudson Soft is is one of many installments of a very popular game about bomb fetishists, which they use to fight evil. It is definitely an amazing series, because despite microscopic changes over the years, it still brings the same enjoyment to the gameplay. I would compare it to the phenomenon of Worms, which is also immortal, and its development overall is based on a similar principle, the gradual addition of small add-on improvements to enrich the gameplay. Saturn Bomberman can even be considered one of the best parts in 2D, if not the best. The character graphics as well as the animations are truly fantastic, while the backgrounds are very detailed and rich with many objects and other goodies. It's the maps that make this game so attractive, as there are many instances in each world where we have lopsided events happening on the map, which add variety to the gameplay. Such as slot game, train passing by from time to time, immortal patrolling drones, etc., on which we have less or no influence at all. Each world looks very pleasant, and the crowning boss fights do not disappoint. In a way, each of them is different, one more complicated and another as simple as fighting a simply tougher mob. The developers have really made an effort on the programming of these fights, so there is motivation to fight and boredom is not noticeable. The game, from what I've been able to understand, is about some asshole named Mr. Meanie stealing four crystals from some temple in which an ancient monster was sealed. After removing the crystals, the monster got free and Mr. Meanie gained control over it. Now he is threatening the whole world with conquest and our disposal experts are sent in to stop him. The game is very playable and has many modes, and each one can be played by 2 or more people if you have the conditions for it. This is probably the first game in the series that could be played over the Internet, if I'm not mistaken....., but this is obviously no longer relevant. We highly recommend it, as it's a game that even after finishing it, you will return to it more than once, whenever you get a chance. To blow up your opponents and even colleagues or friends.
