My duck has been Injured.
มุมมอง 9K10 ปีที่แล้ว
One of my ducks got hurt by a ferret when they were living with a good friend of mine. Due to work loads they could no longer look after them so i went to bring them back home. There pet ferret escaped and attacked one of the ducks before i got there. So i rushed them home and took some vids of his progress. unfortunately my hard disk failed and i lost the lot. I found 2 clips that was still on...

Do you have a new channel?
Hi Unfortunately no some of the ducks have past away but i still have 4 they are all over 12 years old now 2 of them are nearly 14 years old one it blind another has a form of cancer one other has had a small stroke i recon one cant fly anymore. But they are not in any pain and are living out the remainder of there days in the warm in on the pond. Always happy to see me when i return home from work and always look forward to getting into there duck runs inside when it gets dark and cold. :)
@baldfatgit1 I am truly and sincerely sorry for your loss... I have 12 ducks that I love with all my heart, and the thought of losing any of them brings me to tears. I wasn't even aware that ducks can develop cancer... I am so sorry to hear that 💔😔. But I call tell from your videos that you give them a wonderful and beautiful life. You built them a very nice pond. Wish I'd found your channel sooner.
There such cute balls of fluff! (Haha. Who you gonna call, call ducks🦆)
Apparently call duck eggs are difficult to incubate. You're better off leaving it to nature and duck mom. I'm hoping to call duck eggs from a lady that has a trio.

Hello my friend, may I have an email for you, where are you?
I really miss seeing your ducks ... do you still have them?
Hi Rebecca Em the white male i hatched in my hand has sadly passed away a few months ago he was 2 weeks short of 12 years old not bad for a call duck i guess. His female companions who gave me all the fertile eggs (AND A LOT OF FUN) are still going "just" Sophie (The brown one) is now almost totally blind and gone grey as well she is about 10 years old now and needs to be helped a bit so she dont get into any sort of trouble because she cant see. Abbey is hanging on she has a growth on her face that need draining once a week by me. To old to be operated on putting her under anesthetic will kill her, She also has a bad hip at the moment and cant walk so she is inside in the warm until that heals up she is fine other than that eating well and gets excited when i come in the room.she is nearly 11 years old :). The other 2 that is Lucy and Max are both in fine health both can still fly no more eggs of course as Lucy is over 7 years old and max has just reached 9 years they are by far both fit and well. For how much longer they will be with me i hope its a year or two but time will tell. :) No more vids as i have no equipment new enough to use and Windows movie maker no longer exists and all this new vid editing software i just cant get my head around it me being over 60 now has something to do with it i guess. :)) Hope this answers your questions Steve (BFG)
So sorry to here the bad news on EM. I to have lost some of my darling ducks. I have Australian Spotted ducks. They are a little bigger in size will huge personality's. I named 2 females after your ducks EMily and Abby. My male was named Fancy Pants. I never get tired of rewatching your videos. To be honest I bet Iwatch each of of them at least 25 times each. Thank you for sharing your ducks and have a great Christmas!
@@rebeccaloudermilk2574 Hello again yes i remember Fancy pants i feel flattered that you named your ducks after mine i really do. And you have a great Christmas may your ducks live long and prosper :) Steve.
I hope the ducks are doing alright.
They are "Just" Em has passed away he was hatched in my hand and died this year he was 11 years old. Abbey has a tumor in her face at 10 years old she is to old for it to be removed but she is happy. Sophie is totally blind not surprising as she is very old as well. Max and Lucy are fine in there twilight years not laying eggs anymore but very fit and can still just about fly. The hour glass/ clock is ticking but they have a fantastic life warm bed at night in the cold and good food. :)
@@baldfatgit1 Ah I see! I found myself watching your videos after a waterfowl respecting friend of mine recommended them to me. I was concerned to see the uploads have dropped off; I'm incredibly happy that you've responded in such a quick manner for what the upload date would suggest. All of those ducks are/were certainly in the care of someone truly loving.
@@1ULTRAKNIGHT Thank you for the kind words i dont get much time nowadays all my camera gear is outdated most dont work so i dont upload nothing now :)
@@baldfatgit1 of course, Kind words for a Kind Waterfowl Respector. Cameras are quite expensive, and you have better things to do. That's perfectly understandable.
Beautiful family you have there thanks for sharing 💞💞💞😍😘😍🌹🌹🌹

Oh yes i agree
how are you, where are you
Hi Im fine unfortunately Em passed away today about 3.30 pm this afternoon (29th March) he was just over 12 years old. He had not been well for the last few days. It seems he jumped out of his run during the looking for me (Duck poo through my workshop) i found him this morning waiting for me as normal. I let him out in the garden and on my cctv he was sunning himself in the warm afternoon sun when he just keeled over. What a great life he had right till the end. :)
@@baldfatgit1 I'm sorry, therefore, he should have had a cage for them and the floor was damp so that it was not rough
Hey mate are new videos coming soon ?
Not for now my poor ducks are at at a very old age Em Sophie and Abbey are all nearly 12 years old Max and Lucy are about 8 years old none of them lays eggs anymore. And due to the pandemic i lost my engineering job so the job i do now is very much more hours. So not much spare time to make vids but you never know. :)
@@baldfatgit1 Oh i'm so sorry to hear that you Iost your job.I have met your channel in 2013 when i was 12 or so by watching the video called “ My duck has had babies” and after that i have made my own video in my channel. Then i have made a comment you about my video but we could have not even communicated because i had got a very awful english back then. So your videos are really special for me. Thanks!
@@nippezdel ha your very welcome :)
You have peculiar tastes sir.
Ha i do :)

wow the person who made this video still replies to random comments that commented now after 9 years still Legendary
hehehe yes still here :)
Ain't these extremely rare?
na very common :)
She's like a washing machine. Poor ducklings must feel like in swimming in Pacific
ha yea :)
Quick question were the chicks and Abby heavier than they looked? Or were they very light and easy to carry?
Hi Joshua They were very light and very easy to carry. As they are birds of flight they are naturally light anyway and the mother (Abby) is water proof the babies are not and they mother will "clean" there downy feathers with an oil from under her beak so they wont get waterlogged and sink :) Steve UK
@@baldfatgit1 thanks for the info 👍🏿

wow how old was him when u got him? and is he the only duck u got?
sorry theres another one i didn't see hahha
Hi Yes i still have him (Very old now) in fact i still have them all except the 2 gray twins as they were going anyway. All in their twilight years and should of passed away years ago. :)
@@baldfatgit1 that's great. did u get them as ducklings
beautiful 🤩
Is it a pecin duck or a call duck?
Its a call duck part of the Mallard family :)
She looks like a she.
She sure is :)
Wow you got a little heaven for yourself mister 😊
Thank you i have :)
I still come back every year or so lol. This video reminds me of the ducklings I had :)
That's awsome. How old were they when u first had them?
Hi they were hatched by me so very young :)
Hello Steve (BFG) you haven't uploaded for a very long time, I've been a massive fan of your channel and your beloved duckies(Em, Abby, Lucy, Sophie, Max and the Twinnies) how are they and the rest of your menagerie of creatures, not forgetting yourself. It would be lovely to know how things are and how the ducks are getting on. :)
Hi Hanna thanks for the questions. Update on Em Abbey Lucy Sophie and Max they are all still here with me. The 2 Twinnies left for a new home about a year after the vid was taken. {They went to a farm about 40 miles away} And were great last report after that never heard from the family again. As for the other 5 all getting very old. Abby has a large tumor on the side of her cheek but is to old to have it removed she is in no pain so for now she is living out her twilight years with Em who is also very old but healthy Sophie is now blind due to her old age but Em and myself looks after her so she is not in any danger. Max and Lucy are doing very well and none of them now lays any eggs not surprising considering Em Abby Sophie are well over 11 years old and should in theory should have passed away long ago Max and Lucy are over 5 years old now and she dont lay either. Uploading vids is a struggle as i changed my job a while ago and time is in short supply i picked up a new go pro to make vids with but no time. I will soon. hope that fills you in with updates for now. :) Steve :)
What a lovely bloke with his lovely and lucky animals to have him caring for them
Nice geese.
So intelligent duck.
