My family loves all your videos and thanks so much for answering my questions. The rabbit sounds like he'd make as interesting a video as your fish & ducks have. My mother wants me to ask if you have any dogs or cats, or if you grew up with pets because you seem like such a natural with animals.
+WW2HistoryHunter Ha well thank you for the nice comment yes i do also like my ducks plus firearms but they never mix :). By the way i have coffee just waiting for you bunker vid :)
Hello Steve , Love this video I can't wait to get mine will you have any for sale in spring do you think its the best time to get them .....I want to start the right way ....Shelly. :>)
Well thank very much for the nice comments i try to answer everone who takes the time to send me a message :) I dont own any dogs but i did have a cat for 19 years it passed away in my arms in 2000.When i was young we had a finch that sang is heart out for 8 years when he passed away i got a budgie he did not live long so i got another then i found a budgie in my garden thin and looking very ill. So i took him in and he got better and lived with us for 5 years great times they sure were :)
Thank you it sure is. I love working in here it has everything a bloke would need. Tools coffee a loo a fridge {with beer} central heating with hot running water and the best bit DUCKS hehehehe:~)
@baldfatgit1 thank you for your kind words :) yesterday, my fella presented me with an Easter duck who is just a baby and life is grand again! I don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, but for now "he" is a Cuthbert! Happy Easter from America!!! :)
Hello shelly Id wait till after Xmas as long as you have board and lodgings ready for them and its dry warm and above all safe. Start asap after exmas i recon. :)
@hdliondance Females when fully mature are as loud but rarely make a din all the time unlike the crow. My neighbor who lives the other side of the fence never knew i had ducks until this weekend when i walked past his house with all four ducklings following me. His Jack Russel dog makes more noise than a fully mature call duck.
@FlairesTears Page#2# Once you have a place for them to sleep at night you will need water {lots of it} they love water thats why they are ducks they need it to wash drink poo and mate {if you have a male and a female}. An old tin bath sunk in the ground or a paddling pool or if you have a pond like i do they share it with my koi.My pond is heavly filtered for the koi i have in there and it easly copes with the duck poo they leave behind. So cost is up to you on what you decide for them.
@Jclay95 Hi they were born on 29th Dec and 1st and 2nd Jan. I have there mum and dad here and i incubate there eggs myself because you are quite correct they are hard to find so i made some of my own. The next batch of 10 should hatch on the 11th of march (cant wait love it ) As there mum and dad are pure white all babies so far are also pure white and as u can see hand reared hehehe.
Hi oh yes Em is still here with me he has now taken over the breeding program he dad was handed over to a friend who needed a large male as he was getting nasty with everyone so now lives on a farm. Em is now nearly 3 years old and he will still sit in my hand {albeit} not for long. He does look after his 2 girls Abbey & Sophie and he will wait untill they are both in at night and ALWAYS last to enter the duck run. When she is laying an egg he stands guard watching them. Good to watch :~)
@FlairesTears Page#4# Total running costs excluding the cost of the run and the pond/pool/tub should be about £30 every 4 to 7 months this works out to about £4.30 per month "very cheap" you say but also remember if you have a very nice well looked after garden forget it they will trash/ eat / dig up all your nice flowers also if you have a well tilled lawn and you are proud of your lawn by the spring after all the rain we have every year with will look like the somme {battle field}:)
@FlairesTears page #1# Hi very good question. First of all you will require a safe warm home for the ducks to sleep in at night if left outside at night foxes will attack break in and kill them. Also in the middle of winter it can dip as low as -15 they will freeze to death. Cost of the run/hutch is limitless as you can see from my other vids i just built an extension to my workshop and added heating insulation lights ect. It was built like a house is built but easer to keep clean.
@zams1006 Hi again 2weeks old yea ? Oh yes if they have been ! imprinted ! with humans in the first 3 days of hatching so they are not scared of humans after a few weeks of getting used to there surroundings they should come around to you. Make sure they are handled by you often as they grow up and feed them now and again by hand they will soon know you are a friend. Good luck and yes more vids soon.
Yes he sure does if you notice he is sat on a piece of cloth {and old cut up hand towel} and secondly hes not in my house hes in my office that is part of my !Man Cave! if he shits i clean it up straight away with disinfectant as the carpet is treated and does not soak in or smell. :)
@svetlanalupesku You are welcome she has turned out to be a he so now renamed " M " We still have him and is just as friendly Thanks for the nice comment.
@princessmusaandbloom You only get back what you put in you see.So when they hatch they hatch in my hands (i have big hands) Then what they see is there "MUM" and they are what they call ! imprinted ! and they will only see humans as there kind if you put them with other ducks they will run back to me cos im there mum. :)
@FlairesTears Page #5# The last but not not least you will have to clip their wings twice a year once in the spring and once in late summer as they shed there old feathers at this time this means that your garden become what looks like some one has had pillow fight in your garden :) and if there white like mine are it looks twice as bad. What you see on these vids are just the best bits there is alot of hard work in the background going on to achieve what you see.
Hi, Just thought ill ask, how old are they, were they born in 2010. because i have been looking every where for some ducklings so difficault to get hold of. i would love a white one and a blue bibbed one or brown one
@animallover9966 Yes its very easy if you watch them when they are first hatched they will "huddle" together under the lamp if there to cold they will sure let you know. As they get older and they start making the own body heat they will move away from the lamp only going under it as it gets cold in the evenings. You will notice that as they start to get older they will be sleeping together away from the lamp then that is the time to switch it off. Hope that helps you :)
@penelious hehe yea last count was 17 inc a few 2 servers no idea whats here now keep adding them then get rid of a few then add more. They all are doing diffrent tasks music/ movies/security cams around the house/ vid editing/ games ect ect ect you know boys with the toys yea :)
@zams1006 Hi again have you just picked them up ? if so they will be scared for quite a while remember the more time and effort you put in the more you will get out of them. Give them time hand feed them and they will soon come round to you BUT IT TAKES TIME dont rush them as you are trying to make friends with a bird that would rather be with its own kind on a pond. But it will be rewarding when you have friends round and they come up to you to say hi :) more vids this weekend as well.
@FlairesTears Page #7# I also forgot to mention you will also need sawdust about £7 per bail i clean them out nearly every day and every 2 weeks there run gets compleatly cleaned out and disinfectant used to remove all traces of poo and smell. This makes for a healty duck with no bad stuff getting into there food and drink.
@11338325 Thank you for the nice comment :) Em is still with me he is a young man and had been a dad many times. He still likes to be picked up and spoken softly to and have his neck rubbed still the Em i know even after 2 years :)
@vivienleighfan Im realy sorry to hear that nothing worse than loosing a mate and not due to the fullest of time on this planet but due to some dumb ass coyotes or like in the uk foxes. He is just over a year old now and he still likes to sit on my lap now and again :)
@AnimalLoverKayla Sure do at 7 weeks no duck can quack his or her voice will !break! at about 3/4 months then it will be able to quack but until then only like a squeak like you see Em doing in the vid.also call ducks like Em in the vid are normaly noiser than other breeds for some reason. :)
Well you sure can but all you see there is a lifetime of working so as you are just 14 and i am 51 you will get there i cant assure you just work hard and you will see than nothing comes for free. :)
When they are a week or so old you can check and see if they are male or female if not you have to wait for about 2 to 3 months then you will know for sure.
@zams1006 Emily was raised by me like the rest but i took extra time with her as she likes to sit next to me. As she has got older she still follows me and likes to sit next to me but she likes to wander off now as there is so many things to pexk nibble tug and taste. She still my fav as well new vids coming soon.
@FlairesTears Page#3# if you base having 2 ducks of the same age {one on its own is not fair as they are very sociable animals} A sack of layer pellets will cost about £8 and will last 3 to 5 months A sack of wheat/Maize mix will cost about £9 and will last at least 4 to 6 months plus a bit off lettice ect left over from a sallad. and for a treat {in very small amounts because it makes there poo stink like dogs poo} dried meal worms costing about £10 for a mediem tub.
@FlairesTears Page #6# What i did was to google it and for nearly 3 months read up on what is involved in keeping pet ducks for me it was all well worth it because they reward you in return every day. I hope that gives you a starting point on ware to start but please remeber they are nothing like looking after a dog or a cat or a budgie but i like to be diffrent and they are great fun to have around. Regards BFG1 {Steve} :)

My family loves all your videos and thanks so much for answering my questions. The rabbit sounds like he'd make as interesting a video as your fish & ducks have. My mother wants me to ask if you have any dogs or cats, or if you grew up with pets because you seem like such a natural with animals.
