    I wish the same its getting much colder at night now as the nights draw in i must say they cant wait to get inside and settle down for the night in the warmth of there duck room. :) they are as i speak {8.41pm} all lined up in there runs with fresh wood savings and clean water full tummys all heads tucked under wing sound asleep. :)

    know what my ducks are craziest about? dry dog food! they like to get into the dog's food and she likes to get into theirs. a friend feeds hundreds of birds with dry cat food - none of it gets left, unlike different types of seed in the mixes.

  • @baldfatgit1
    @baldfatgit1  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Thank you for the nice comments. :~)
    No because i clean up the poop straight away and if it has dried before i see it i have a scraper to pick it up. and finaly it is a laminate floor and i use a mob bucket of hot water with pine disinfectant in it and mop the floor once a week so it stays very clean.This is why i can kneel down in my work clothes with no fear of getting them dirty.:)

  • @conscarcdr
    @conscarcdr 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Such sweet babies :)
    But how do you keep the floor clean? Wouldn't their droppings fill the cracks even if you wipe the floor?

    I must try the meal worms for my ducks. They love steel cut oats, lettuce, grubs. But they forage for the grubs and tear up the lawn.

So with fresh females and my males they can start up again. I was sad to see them go but it was for the best I recon. :~)

  • @baldfatgit1
    @baldfatgit1  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi yes it is protein you find it in meal worms snail slugs worms anything with meat in it. {that's why dogs poop stinks so bad} if you keep them on grass corn wheat maize and layer pellets. And let them have meal worms as a treat there poop don't stink so bad. :~)

  • @sharkvictim721
    @sharkvictim721 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    i have 3 ducks and had them inside when they were young then moved them outside when they got bigger. would of kept them inside longer but when they got older they're poop smelled to bad to keep them inside. we used to let them roam around and follow us n watch tv with us but when they kept pooping more and bigger we couldn't anymore. curious if u feed ur ducks a certain diet that helps keep them from having smelly poop. some kind of diet that makes they're smell at least not as strong oder?

  • @baldfatgit1
    @baldfatgit1  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    What part of the world are you from ? If from the uk I get them from the local pet store that sells them in 1 kilo bags instead of the 1 kilo plastic tubs as it save a few pounds. :~)

  • @baldfatgit1
    @baldfatgit1  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    *Update* I have kept Max the two grey ones I gave to my friend who gave me Sophie and Abbey they were never intended to stay. they were bred for a duck farm but they gave up the business so I kept them until I could find a good home. I did and they are well looked after and are about to get some girls of there own very soon. :)

    Lol when i was a kid i had 3 wonderfull ducklings and took them at my grandparents farm so they can grow in a healthy envyronment.They were following me everywhere ahah, and when they were around to explore in the vegetation, just a call and they were coming rushing even from far far away ahah. I remember i loved to feed them with earth worms, everytime i was visiting my grandparents they knew they would have a feast :D But the funny/scary thing is when they grew older and they saw for the first time one of the duck di*k they believed it was an earth worm and eat that thing ahaha. However from that 3 ducks i bring to my grandparents years later they had like 20-30 ducks ahahha
