Well done! I have much to learn from you :)
Beautiful job! Try breathing while cutting. I have the same problem when I focus intensely :). Thank you sir.
No pads in the jaws? No crescent wrench?
Roger, frohe weihnachten und einen guten rutsh ins neue jahr
Beautiful!
Beautiful job!
Next episode, how to build a light bulb from sand and scraps of wire. 😊
Maybe I should give it a try 🤣🤣
Where did you purchase the chisels from?
The Tools as rough forged blanks are no longer availeble but you can get them ready made here. www.dictum.com/en/carving-sculpting-tools-baca/sculpting-tools-12-piece-set-700974 These chisles are realy nice to use but I made my own handles on the wood laith. And it is a nice beginners set of good quality steel. Otherwise I would by a beginners set from Company PFEIL. they are realy good and razor sharp delivered. www.dictum.com/en/carving-sculpting-tools-baca/pfeil-compact-carving-tools-12-piece-set-700692 There is everything included for beginning gunmaking. For sure I have as well a lot of old chisels from my grandpa and some even older. So good hunt and enjoy your project😊
I would think this would be one case where a barrel mounted rear sight would work better. Each barrel would have its own adjustment and there would be a stable link between the front and rear sight. That being said, i am looking forward to the tang mounted peep sight.
I am assuming that you made the underlugs two different ways to see which worked better. If so, which did you prefer?
Oh it only looks like , The first one was too short and had to make a new one. For me the bending from brass sheet metal is the easyes way. For the fixation on the barrel there are three different ways. But they are mostly chosen by the style of the barrel: for straight oktagonal barrels I file the dovetail. For a swaped barrels first file a shallow grove and than make the dovetail with a chissel. And last but not least for a round barrels the underlugs are soldered to the barrel because there is not enough material for the dovetail. 😃I hoe that is helpful to you
Barrel Forging! I would not put it past you!
Boy you must have been building your shop from infancy! Good for you
Nicely laid out shop looks great
I’m curious how far is your touch hole off the face of your butt plug? I guess what I’m really asking is what do you strive for realizing the barrel and lock come into play
No surprise i was just noticing how stable your drill press is. Mine a Jet is a bit wobbly. It does the job but you have to pay attention. Granted it is not a milling machine but the wobble could be less.
You are a great guy appreciate you sharing your projects and your skills!
Love it i need that sewing machine!
That is easy. It is the cheapest hand cranked leather sewing machine on ebay and amazon. for about 140$😁
I second you being the best craftsman on TH-cam! What is it you can’t produce beautifully? And as far as hard to follow comment the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever seen! Im curious as to your source for materials and that awesome sewing machine. I would certainly like to make my own possible bag but honestly I have other projects that need completed and I do have a few already. If I was going to make one Id most likely make several. Beautiful job! Any chance in the future im sure many of us would appreciate links in the description to tools and materials! Beautiful 🤩. Be safe Gods blessings to you and your family!
The secret to a nice result for my projects, and that took me a lot of time to learn, is: I do it for me and it is not work. At work we are all forced to be fast, but this is for me so it is not interesting how long it takes only the best posible result counts!!! And as well like you I have a lot of projects waiting as well 😆espacialy my lovely wife will agree with that 🤣🤣she is waiting for a new bathroom cabinet and a renovation of the living room and ......... I think I forgot the rest 🤣🤣 Most of the materials I do not purchase for a special project in fact it is given by friends oj just scrap.... only barrel material is always new, savety is key. So untill next time and good wishes to you and your family. Oh the tools.... if you have something special in mind yust tellme and I will send you a source
That is a nice little project. It will be very useful to keep your bits and pieces to hand.
At the moment it looks a litle bit chaotic in my workshop but the next litle project is cleaning the area🤣
Everything is fine except for the Torx screws, which did not exist in the past.... =/;-)
Oh I changed them at the end by sloted screws😁
Roger, another great video very detailed and looks great
Thanks a lot Richard.... and I got the oficial stamp for the jäger rifle and it shoodts sooooo smooth. But there were too many people on the range so I could not make a video. Maybe next time😁
@@homemadehistory7537 Roger that is great news, I look forward to the video. I looked at your series of the wheellock again which is most impressive, did you use commercial drawings for the lock?
You are the best craftsman on youtube
oh I try to do my best 😁
This video was way too difficult to follow!
Oh sory I promis to get better. This time I focused a lot on handling the sewing machine😊
What is the name of that barrel pipe?
it is seamless hydraulik pipe. Maybe you can purchase at the local steel trader. Take care to have at least 6mm wall thickness at the breach. If you want to mill it on oktagonal shape you need to ad some more to get to the final minimum wall thickness of 5mm. Good luck for your project 😁
@ I’m still not getting your point I just ask name of pipe opposite and similar are everywhere just need of pipe name please helping me telling the pipe name won’t make you poor thank you
@@Dmodegaming That is the pipe I used for making the barrels, it is 30mm by 7mm wall thickness. www.ebay.de/itm/112957195210?_skw=nahtloses+rohr+stahl&itmmeta=01JCR1644EYTDM97GZXHENHWR7&hash=item1a4cc603ca%3Ag%3AHsAAAOSwXmRlPkXL&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKl84GoRmpJ86F%2FQ3CJrIVGdpX652ckPOTC4U9N6puzK3QEwpBikvvB8LtPBDmVv5puvu9AJNuAfkn8hkUSkq%2BhXbpvyft5mceT6SORJ%2BN%2Fsx%2FoX44cr%2FiQHyXPa7mvDkJZcGI60DN3%2FkmhKZeuIKbknOgZLaEumewUelUHTBOia%2BVTVIxmS3hlRomcN8c1lHWS6H%2B08PUBKpXJ5Ib%2FqvSWmKz8UGVmE0DdImgXKVg3IABIpDKz6vr%2FrWED6OKkjys9TZ9z%2FZPauh2wn8a%2BmqloccUinT%2BiJ2jesSyhUB8n70Q%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMrMKYgeZk&var=413336744253 but you can use the code DIN-EN 10305-1 E235 that should work. I do not know the exact name in englisch but the code with the measurement is the same and the order information for the trader. I hope this will help you. Allways try to be helpfull....
I think once you get past 1/8" it isn't called a sheet anymore ;)
is there a part 9 where you finish the wheel shaft?

The man's good at it.
What happened to the swivel breech rifle? I wanted to see it shoot!
Oh that is still on hold because the main spring broke. So it needs a litle repair..... 😥 but I have the official shooting for the jäger rifle and did the first test. soon I will make a shooting video for that when not so many peaple are on the shooting range😁
Great work! Thanks for taking the time to video the process!
How did it turn out?
Ive been trying to build a case and i ran into so many problems, this helped alot

the ends of the barrels were brazed with brass and the ripps are soldered with tin solder. That worked rather well but the process is tricky and it is very need to take care of the positioning and fixation of the barrels before the soldering. I do this just for relaxing. my job is on building steel mills.....😁

Why not thin down the spring and grind off part of "bend"? The spring strength is personal preference, but the bend will dig into the shoulder when shooting.
For the last one I made the sping out of one block, that was way more easy.... maybe on a later point I will make a new sping that sits more close to the butplate. That will make a more lower profile posible 😁
The amount of parts you make from scratch is pretty amazing. I think I finally caught back up, so I am looking forward to the next build.
Isn't that the East German Army flag?
I can’t get enough of this! Here I am, five years late. I hope you’re still doing fine work. Are there blueprints of this piece somewhere? I’ve got to try this!
i like your rifle machine how you cher the way your made tanks
How did you shape the chape? You videoed your soldering but not the forming
Oh sometimes the camera try to upset me.... 😆 I made a wedge shape paper template and cutted some 1mm brass sheet metal and bend a cone. The decorative top shape was done before bending. that is way easier.... 😁
You’re living my dream, being able to make stuff like this. Just came across your channel today and I’ve watched a lot of your rifle build and plan on watch in more of your videos
Oh that is nice Bob. at the moment I have a lot of work so there are only smal projects on the plan.... but the next one is on the way..... 😆

thank you Anthony😁 it seems you need a litle project😉
