When you drill brass it is always good to blunt the drill bit a little. Sharpen it as normal then use a stone to put a tiny bit of negative angle on the drill bit cutting edges. Brass is really bad at grabbing when being drilled. The shooting box is looking really good.
That is a good idea, i will try . Bigger parts are much easyer to clamp in a machineing vise, so the parts can not be grabbed by the drill and rotate. Best safety tip is never to use gloves on a drill press unless there are some fingers in spare 😁but the good thing is than it is posible to order 2 shots and thre pint with one hand 🤣🤣
When I was in highschool shop class one of the students was removing a bit from the chuck, the chuck key had a chain on it to keep it from being lost. Another student came by and turned on the drill and the chain wrapped around the chuck with the students hand wrapped in it. He was cut very bad and his class ring was crushed and it had to be cut off, also it broke three of his fingers.😢😢 There is no substitute for SHOP SAFETY !!!!!
Whith smal parts it is realy shitty to clamp in a vise😉When I made my exam for mechanic from aprenticeship one of the guys left the key in the chuck of the layth. His luck was that it was not grabbing him cos the chuck was running left and the key fly up to the roof and when it came down he cought it and put it back. I never heard someone scream again as loud as the mechanics master😆🤣🤣bu he was sooooooo luck. In the last 35 years I saw so many where the luck ended in an ambulance..... I could fill a book with it.....
Very comprehensive shooting box to cover all range time, congratulations fine job. I now look forward your next project
