That was the plan and soon I will start the treatment of the metal parts as soon as my new box is ready.... it is realy needed for the new competition season😆
oh it worked realy well and for sure I tryed it first on some scrap wood. And the best is 😆after the last sanding I burned the cleaner on the stock. It was gone rather quick and give the stock a temp of 35°C so the oil penetrated realy well. But I didnt show that process cos it is rather dangerous. And do not use too much cleaner for that😆Actualy Holland and holland use such a process so the oil penetrates well but I could not see whoat kind of liqid they use.....
Oh air rifles are realy hard to make in cause of the valves incorporated..... I am still thinking and checking my stock of material. And beside that I check for a permission to build cap lock as well😁@@jomoma8576
Man I would love to have your knowledge of this fine craftsmanship.everything looks great.question for u.if I want to buy 1 sweep gouge for doing guns and other things nothing big.what size do I want
For me it worked well at the beginning to habe one bigger gauge with 20nn wide and flat courve and a smal set like this: www.dictum.com/en/carving-sculpting-tools-baca/pfeil-compact-carving-tools-6-piece-set-700691 the pfeil tools work realy well and come very sharp for a reasonable price. Better not try cheep junk from amazon. With a smal set , dont matter what brand, will give a lot of basic oportunitys. Maybe first make a nice carved box just to get a feeling how to work with them. And you need soome sharpening tools as well. 😁 so I hope I could help you and good luck for your project
Oh I am sooooooo sorry. I missed to answer the comments this time😪
It’s been a great journey watching your build, man it is beautiful. Great job
Thanks a lot, 😃 the treatment for the metal parts is still missing but than I hope to get an apintment for official shooting and stamp😁
Looks good with the light finish!
The idea was to have a nice contrast to the horn inlays😁
@@homemadehistory7537 I lean towards darker woods and finished but the contrast here looks great.👍🏼
Great colour contrast between wood and horn, the light finish for stock is ideal and suits the rifle build, congratulations.
Just some oil and work with the color of the wood is sometimes realy nice😁
The oil finish really brings out the contrast between the horn inlays and the wood.

Nice job, very good contrast!
😁The best will be after the blueing of the barrel.... than the gold inlay will realy pop up ☀
I've never heard of brake cleaner being used to raise the grain.Hope it doesn't hurt your finish.Maybe it might be a better way.
