Michael is very pleasant person. Many times it is like that - the more people achieves, the less they needs to assert their ego. I really love to listen to people who achieved that much in their careers and stayed humble. So inspirative

If there's anyone on the planet that could do it would be you guys . So nice to see seasoned elders kicking ass in a sport that is not so easily dominated by the younger aspirants.

Having moved to bass (from guitar) recently and still liking the guitar range, hence I looked into piccolo bass and I ended up here (though I do play slow). Looking at De Maio's instrument makes me think of those good old plectrum banjo, whereas I don't have the requirements Joey faces, I think that bass string spacing is too great. The issue is not that much for the right hand but for the left one, lot of people do fine, plucking with picks, finger or slapping on their five strings, it makes me wonder if manufacturer should consider normalizing the bridge string spacing to five string standard (16.5mm seems like the most common size). Not as radical as the choices Joey De Maio did but it would allow for all the common play-style on bass (some guys crush it on 6 strings with 14mm strings spacing). It feels like bass guitar were designed for giant playing the double bass, I might be fine with a bass / plectrum banjo hybrid (I suspect others too). I love the bass all fourth tuning, but I also like tuning more amenable to chord fingering, people like F A C E I can see why, I enjoy E A C E that it seems nobody uses. It really is E A E with a C string thrown in between like C G B D is C G D with a b string. It feels really like a little guitar, and there are nice chords to playing all over the neck like on banjo but the tuning is a lot more noodling friendly than say standard plectrum banjo. End of my rant, I'm not really into Manowar, though that is high quality content watched two videos in a raw.

The technical ability of these guys is just astounding -- though I would like to hear both with a clean sound because they are so precise I'll bet they don't even need the overdrive. amazing skills , but your Audio engineer has 2 things off, "musical reference" its not based on times 4/4 5/4 and so on, you can play 30notes per second if you're playing 30 notes per beat at 60bpm so it doesnt matter the time signature, the 2 thing is the math ,you're playing 16 notes at 30bpm( not 10) so you play 30 at 113bpm otherwise you would have to play at 120bpm. Keep it shredding.

As a left-handed guitarist, there aren't a lot of off-the-rack guitars that I like anyway. My habit is to buy an axe used, and fix it up the way I like it with aftermarket pickups, saddles, etc.

My first guitar was also a Kent SG copy with extreme action. Thankfully my guitar teacher helped me get a Hohner Les Paul copy that was much better.

“Enjoy the journey” Hear that everyone? Read that aloud a few times, then yell it. Rinse, repeat etc. I’ve found many people who stopped enjoying their journey for whatever reason, and that’s sad when you see it. If you have to change your journey do it. The key is you are happy doing it. That long term happiness/ enjoyment is the thing, not the fix of the hour. Hail and kill, swords in the wind, rubber side down unless we are talking condoms then rubber over not under, and with blood in our voices spit in their faces because they sure as hell have spit in ours.
