Great segment on speed throughout history. As Michael would put it "it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." Haters will always give you the "I'd rather hear David Gilmour play one note" line of crap, as if slow melodic playing and fast technical playing were mutually exclusive. I love both. But usually when they come complaining about "speed," deep down they envy your skills and are merely coming up with an excuse as to why THEY can't do it. This phenomenon only seems to affect rock or guitar music, as no one in their right mind would want to join or even be allowed to play in a classical music orchestra if they had no serious chops. Best wishes and happy belated birthday!
Hey Joey! Since I´ve been commenting about gear all the time in your channel, here it goes: after years looking for an 8 string bass I finally got one. Finding those in Brazil is like finding a needle in a haystack. Electric guitar is my main instrument, but because of you, Lemmy and Entwistle I became also a bassist soon after buying my first guitar. Thank you for all the inspiration! If you have any tips on 8 strings please let me know, it is a very different beast, almost like riding a bulldozer when you are used to ride a 911 Porsche.
Congratulations yeah there’s no real secret. I just hope the neck is straight for you and if you’re having problems with the neck and getting it to play comfortably if there’s a bend in the center of the neck and the truss rod won’t make it straight you may have to try using super light gauge strings, it’s about all I can think of just have fun
You must fight an epic battle against the bitter enemy called Metronome 😉. We will support you and wait for virtuoso guitar playing between you two. Thank you Joey for making Michael Angelo Batio an integral part of the band!
but isn’t it all relative sometimes bands pour out records one after the other and they’re not all different and unique and have something worth making people spend their money for I just think to do something great it takes whatever time it takes to feel like you’re giving something to people that is worthy of them in their hard money, and for somebody like myself I don’t write the way Mozart supposedly did but I wish that I did but thank you so much for your comment. In the 70's they were crazy. Especially fusion artist. Their own project but collaborations . Like John Mclaughing records in 1969, 1970, 1971, Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1971-1973 with 3 albums, John Mclaughing within that line up and Carlos Santana for Love Supreme then Billy Cobham Spectrim in 1973 . I mean its like 8 records with each innovative concept in 4 fucking years. Among others. Heavy metal bands were putting stepping stones at that similar cadence too. @@realjoeydemaio
Ok so you two are going to give us very interesting contents! It is amazing how this collaboration is growing and becoming intriguing. It is useless to say that curiosity to have sneak peak of new music is growing daily
Was reading bible The Blood of the Kings once again today and this interesting teaser arrived. I love these epic narrations by Joey and now Michael also, and can not wait what´s coming!
Happy birthday my King! Love you so much ❤❤❤
Thank you very much. Looks like we’ll be seeing more of you in the future.

A great example of speed is the speed with which bands release new albums. :)

Get your seatbelt brother
Great content, love it. When you gave example of speed for the piano and then the guitar, you should have showed the one and only David Shankle

Need for speed could have been a cool title for a Manowar album or song unless it was not a famous racing game...FYI 😝
