i think it's ingrained in people to hear processed dog food and immediately think bad because of human processed food. i didn't realize the difference until i watched your videos. people love their pets and just want them to be healthy

My vet told me to put him on Science Diet Puppy food. =) She told me to stay away from all life stages for both my dogs. My 2 cats and 2 dogs are all on Science Diet.

I Give my 10 year old female Min pin "Hills Science diet perfect weight adult for small dogs" dry food. Is that still okay or should I be switching her to the Hills senior dry food? She doesn't have any diagnosed kidney problems as of now. She does have some minor liver issues and takes Denamarin for that, but no Kidney issues. Just wondering if it's still okay to give her just the adult food

I have two seniors dogs, I agree with your thinking. I went to Science Diet 7+ wheat corn and soy free. It’s been 3 weeks and I feel good that he’s getting what his body needs, not too much or not enough. I appreciate all the work you do I fell into the marketing trap with the grain free craze, and lost my dog too early. I’m sticking with science not media craze

I’ve been feeding my mini schnauzer puppy half purina pro plan and half Ollie. After finding your channel I decided to stock up on pro plan and do half dry and half canned instead of the Ollie. I still have about a months left of Ollie and want to use it up first. How would you suggest making the transition and is this a good idea to do half dry half canned?

I absolutely hate the way the Farmer's Dog does marketing by making everyone else look bad! I also hate to say that I've ended up feeding one of my dogs fresh food because it's the only thing that's worked to alleviate his stomach issues. However, I feed him Just Food For Dogs -- one of their formulas that was properly feeding trialed, and everything is balanced for maintenance. (My other dog happily eats Science Diet and is doing great on it!)

Don’t forget the tv and talk show stars with their brands of food!!! 😂. Think I will stick with Purina Pro Plan and use the knowledge I’ve gotten from watching these videos to chose food for my dogs and not what “stars” or Dr Judy rants over.

I feed my golden retriever puppy large breed Parina puppy, but she also really likes the Ollie wet food. Is it safe to at least mix these two if I do mainly the dry food and like a tablespoon of the wet food

Again, my story is, after changing our dog's food she was on for years, to Farmer's Dog, we went through a 3-4 month nightmare of her having an allergic reaction to it. During that time, we found out another 3-4 neighbors had to take THEIR dog off of Farmer's due to allergic reactions. She has now been on a mix of Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon Formula & Farmina Cod formula, and has completely recovered from all that itching she had on Farmer's.

Isn’t feeding the big 5 brands pro plan, hills, Royal canin, lams, eukanuba like feeding cereal/ McDonald’s every day to our dogs though?

Ironically, the ad that showed during this video was “Farmer’s Dog”. My 6 month old Belgian is thriving on Science diet. We just switched from regular puppy formula to large puppy formula (since he’s 56 pounds already) which has glucosamine in it for his joints. Love your channel and appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience.

Sundays is an expensive option with poor customer service and an even poorer website to manage your sub with.

I know this is an older video, hopefully you will see this. I have a 9 year old cat who is pretty healthy. Her last appointment they ran some blood work and her kidneys were good but the vet said she could potentially be heading toward a stage 1 as she ages. He went ahead and prescribed her a kidney diet and said I could choose the one I wanted, Hills, Purina pro plan, etc... I ordred the Hills k/d starter pack to see which one she liked the best and she seemed to like them all. My question to you is, which food would you recommend for her? Is Hills the best ? Should she even be starting a kidney diet yet? Sorry for all the questions! I respect your opinion greatly! Thanks!

I think a lot of these pet food companies are overcharging for dog food and claiming some things that arent really right my vet said that what I'm feeding is just fine and it's a cheaper food and my dog is doing just great so expensive food doesn't mean better

Corn absolutely does those great things. But at the same time it is the highest glycemic grain ingredient, dogs are carnivorous and do not function optimally with chronic high blood sugar. Corn causes massive blood sugar spikes which feeds pathogenic yeasts in the gut in addition to system inflammation which lends itself to a myriad of poor health outcomes. Much of a dogs health boils down to its genetics, healthy food choices cannot make the animal something that it is not but it can maximize its genetic potential. I rather feed a food that does not contain By-products, Chinese ingredients, plant protein isolates, corn, wheat, soy or other high sugar additives like flour or any ingredient other than grade 1 quality

The production facilities for "human grade" are USDA inspected to human food standards, according to AAFCO there is no legal definition for "human grade food" but this is lawyer double speak, there is certainly different standards set for these production facilities, if there was no legalities ALL pet foods would say "human grade", You are being disingenuous.

Something is different in this brand. Using it for years but bags made in Serbia have caused vomiting in my cats and from what I am finding out, many others as well. Wondering....
