Hi guys, Artie here and not only do I cover WBD and CN/AS updates, but I also review topics such as TV shows, episodes, the entertainment industry, and videos but also talk about life stories, current events, and more in my own perspective! I also have a series called YKWS where I rant on the most ridiculous things in life. I like animation, games, travelling, the entertainment industry, and sharing my opinions on these topics. I've recently gotten into covering cord cutting related news, so expect more of that!

Toonami Rewind and ACME Night are Ending (For Real)
As we head into the new year, Adult Swim is revamping their schedule and both Toonami Rewind and ACME Night are being discontinued late this December and will not make it into 2025. This comes as Toonami Rewind didn't perform as well as the network wanted it to, with anime fans pinning the blame on Family Guy coming back when in fact the reason was overambitious expectations, executive meddling, and poor viewership.
It's not 100% set in stone, but it is highly likely ACME Night is also on the chopping block, as Sunday, January 5th's schedule is just the normal Adult Swim lineup and not the usual Futurama reruns that replace ACME Night whenever it goes on hiatus.
As for Checkered Past, the block will be losing an hour of airtime to make way for Family Guy's return so each FOX show has an hour and a half of airtime. At the same time, Checkered Past will regain its old Friday slot previously occupied by Toonami Rewind. Pretty much one step forward, but two steps back. I'm telling you the block should've been on Cartoon Network in the first place.

Why a 24-Hour US Adult Swim Channel is Unlikely
มุมมอง 2.7K12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
As much as people want a 24-hour Adult Swim channel in the US (including me), it’s unlikely it’ll ever come into fruition. I decided to make a video on this because Twitter user, Kian (who is also one of the people in charge of the CN Schedules account) made some good points about how Adult Swim will never become 24 hours and it interested me, so why not cover it? Some key factors of why Adult ...
Final HBO Max Removals of the Year and Regular Show Complete Series DVD Coming Soon
มุมมอง 3.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
As a surprise to absolutely no one, HBO Max has announced even more removals of Cartoon Network and WB Animation series due to the rights expiring and they're too cheap to renew them. If WBD doesn't change their mind, Courage and the OG Powerpuff Girls will be only two remaining CN originals after the removals. It is clear that Hulu is now the streaming home of Cartoon Network and it is being m...
Family Guy is Returning to Adult Swim this January
มุมมอง 4.9K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
You heard that right, Family Guy is indeed coming back to Adult Swim on New Year's Day 2025 starting out with a three-night long marathon of nothing but Family Guy. This will also give Adult Swim a slight variety boost during the evening-primetime hours so there's not an overwhelming amount of Bob's Burgers and American Dad spam. According to the current president of The Cartoon Network Inc. Mi...
NBCUniversal is Spinning Off its Cable Networks
มุมมอง 3.8K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Primarily due to MSNBC's slipping ratings, Comcast/NBCUniversal is planning to spin-off a majority of its cable and digital assets into a new, separate company as SpinCo. The only cable network that NBCUniversal wants to keep is Bravo since it supplies a good chunk of content to their Peacock streaming platform. It wouldn't be the first time they sold/spun-off some of their networks, as they so...
Teen Titans Go is Taking Over Cartoon Network for Ten Days
มุมมอง 2.9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Starting November 22 through December 1, Cartoon Network will be airing a marathon of every single Teen Titans Go episode that has aired so far, in celebration of and leading up to the 400th episode! Unlike the Christmas 2017 marathon, I believe the marathon is actually warranted this time because 400 episodes is a neat milestone and they aren't doing this on Christmas just to irritate viewers....
The Downfall of FXX Network
มุมมอง 4.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Lately the channel FXX has been going downhill because of carriage disputes and also the removal of shows from the lineup, could this possibly lead to the closure of the network someday? The only sign that the channel may have a chance is that this year they’ve made new bumpers for the remaining shows on the network and there’s been no announcement or insider information on the future of the ch...
HTF Meets Dumb Ways to Die in New Short
มุมมอง 668หลายเดือนก่อน
The famous web cartoon that has now been running for over 25 years has returned with a new crossover episode with Dumb Ways to Die, titled Happy Train Friends. And no, it’s not the Dumb Ways to Die HTF parody video from the early 2010’s. After watching this short, I can definitely say I enjoyed it more than Too Much Scream Time from last year. The cross-promotion doesn’t seem to be as blatant a...

Even though the PS5 Pro has not hit the market yet, I believe it is not worth buying whatsoever. It’s basically just a PS5, without the disc drive, and with slightly higher specs, processing speed, and resolution. All that for $700 USD! The PS5 overall is basically just a beefed up PS4 with a microscopic library of games to offer. I believe it’s just not gonna sell well. People who already own ...
Top 10 Worst South Park Episodes

I've wanted to do a top 10 video for a while because it's a fun format to work with, so I decided to go with South Park because unlike other popular series such as SpongeBob or The Simpsons where there’s a common consensus, meaning most fans collectively love or hate a certain episode, while South Park episodes are more open to interpretation and contain multiple messages in one episode, so the...
HBO Max Removed Even More CN Shows
มุมมอง 10K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
On the night of October 1, HBO Max removed a handful of EVEN MORE Cartoon Network series. Chowder, Gumball, Regular Show, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, and Powerpuff Girls 2016 were all pulled from the service that night without any prior warning. I’m surprised they even removed popular shows like Gumball from the service, that’s one of Warner Bros Discovery’s cash cows! At first there was a ...
Why the G4TV Revival Failed

For my 100th video special, I've decided to remake my first ever video "Why the G4TV Revival Failed" and go into further detail the reasons why the channel was a major flop and did not live up to expectations. Huge Piracy Crackdown and the Future of Media

Ever since August, media companies and the authorities have been going after unlicensed sites in an increased effort to crack down on piracy. Has Adult Swim Become Too Mainstream?
มุมมอง 2.9K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
For over a decade now, Adult Swim has become less of a small-scale late-night block aimed at teens and young adults with a cult following and a unique style of cynical yet absurd humor, and more of a conventional network and being aimed at a more broad audience. Hell, Adult Swim has more airtime at Cartoon Network at this point so why not make it its own channel then? Even though the name of th...

Cartoon Network Eras: Ranked Worst to Best
Just shut down Cartoon Network! It can't go on like this anymore!
Well THAT didn't take long for them to unfortunately pull the plug from Toonami Rewind. I would've LOVED seeing it continuing on for a bit longer. Too bad it wasn't to be. But at least the good thing was that we saw the VIZ dub of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, especially the Dark Kingdom arc. It COMPLETELY redeemed the anime adaptation after being butchered and censored by DIC(K) and Cloverway calling the guardians the lame and weak "Sailor SCOUTS" and the Dark Kingdom the "Negaverse".
Imagine in the next five years Robin will automatically become Cartoon Networks Mickey Mouse instead of gumball
Does that mean on Sundays Cartoon Network gets time until like six or something?
Hey Artie, this is me. The guy who commented on the dimensional video that you made after watching this. Could you do a review on a pretty mediocre Nickelodeon era (2013-2016) it features bumpers like these in this era: th-cam.com/video/LLwmzUCbR58/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qfJ-_czgxEWP9bVJ in my opinion in the Sarah the bumpers were good. It’s just the era was just a bit meh
Yeah. I hate when time goes by so fast it really needs to slow down a little bit
If checkered past is being reduced to 5pm for more family guy reruns, then what was the point of adult swim starting at 5pm? If that's the case then should probably get their 5pm to 7pm hours back.
Paramount Plus apparently pulled several shows like Teenage Robot from its lineup as of late Thursday...
They even removed Doug, I see they are taking notes from HBO Max...
I've never seen Toonami Rewind but having only one show to air on a programming block is always a bad idea. Hopefully other blocks will understand this..... (I'm looking at you two, Nick Jr. on Nick and One Magnificent Morning) Also, with all the Fox shows (excluding The Simpsons) coming to Adult Swim, one must wonder if that'll affect FXX in some way.
I miss 24/7 Cartoon Network.
If WBD actually discontinues the checkered past block, That might lead to the possibility of more older CN shows airing on boomerang.
That's what I'm saying
Wait, So WBD is not rotating the acme night block with those direct to DVD Futurama movies anymore and are instead making it kick the bucket? And isn’t it surprising that they are discontinuing toonami rewind only after almost half a year? Its like a puppy dying during birth.
I can see why Toonami Rewind failed. Anime has been getting more popular during overnight hours on [as].
I'm hoping that with Checkered Past regaining Fridays they spice things up again, maybe have two days where they air something different than the shows currently in rotation?
Is Family Guy still gonna be on Comedy Central too?
Yes!
What's the point in doing these blocks if they are going to cancel them in less than a year. I don't think they have to cancel or change blocks to make room for family guy. Considering how ACME Night hasn't had any new marketing or prmos made for years, i already knew it would end soon.
I want Dragon Ball Super back!❤️📺🎶👍🏻
if SpinCo is a placeholder, then they call it Living Color Cable
I was thinking tonight that CN should get 5-7 PM back in 2025 if there killing checkered past because I don’t think it’s fair to kids that might want to watch TV after school instead of just playing on their tablets. 5-6 PM: TTG 6-7 PM Gumball Adventure Time can have the 3 PM airing replacing gumball.
I am not willing to see Checkered Past get the axe soon. My brother and I really loved the block as we would watch Cartoon Network's gems from a golden era from my childhood. Tbh, I'm still hoping they at least expand the lineup/shows with Whatever Happened to Robot Jones? or Sheep in the Big City on their block on Adult Swim.
Because of debt
This sucks honestly, they better have something cool to replace it. Checkered Past should extend their hours
CAN THEY JUST EXPAND CHECKERED PAST PLZ
I’d be down for if Toonami Rewind was brought back each summer as a “summer event”. Toonami Rewind had a good run but nostalgia doesn’t work full time. If it did, The ‘90s Are All That would’ve gotten its own network. Either a new network would’ve been created or they would have changed Teennick into The ‘90s Are All That all day and all night. Good video and ty. You always take time to be honest about what’s going on and I appreciate that a lot. Keep up the fantastic work Artie!
I feel like that some nostalgia content works, but it collapses when it's the only thing you've got
@ agree and they can’t do Toonami Rewind long term because Crunchyroll also won’t let them have some rights. Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe could’ve done well on the block since they were Toonami shows.
It's a sad day for old classics, but hey, look at the brightside, for first cartoon Network classics are on boomerang again so cartoon Network could get the rights for Ed Edd n Eddy courage and so on back for their time slot for all the shows except for the two show I'm about to talk about, for second MeTV toons can get the rights to cartoon planet and what a cartoon, and for third regular toonami is getting original dragon Ball but I hope they have both Naruto and sailor Moon too ❤ Maybe this isn't all that bad 😊
Having something last less than a year is like a baby dying at the age of 1.
Morbid but realistic fact, children are more likely to perish within their first year of being alive
And less than half a year, For that matter.
I am so grateful Warner Bros. Discovery is splitting into two because Jesus H. Christ, they cannot handle scheduling properly. Screwy timeslots, shows (like Unicorn, MAWS, and IFG) that were supposed to be CN, and programming blocks like Checkered Past, ACME Night, and Toonami Rewind are dying. I'm sure Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and other Turner networks will be fine once they were spun-off from WBD which is breaking apart. I hope all good comes later on.
If this happens and if Checkered Past loses more airtime...what else will Adult Swim air besides leeching off the same Fox/Disney content they've been airing already
i'll give you a hint, it's what bender called fry in the futurama episode "the birdbot of ice-catraz"
And let's not forget boomerang got rid of the boomerang theater block and replace it with the CN shows so if checkered past does end, Cartoon Network will get back the right and all of the shows except for cartoon planet and one cartoon will go there, That's not a bad thing it's just they won't longer be any created bumpers at all never, sense boomerang is kid friendly.
I just hope this isn’t the first step in losing Toonami, though I bet they just starting to drift from Anime to shows that were meant to air on Cartoon Network but moved to AS despite being generally kid-friendly, especially since Crunchyroll is taking all the potential anime that Toonami could broadcast.
Not just that, they aren't even making any new bumpers anymore and the bump is they are still airing are starting to become repetitive and annoying, like that double D beatboxing bumper got old really fast, it used to be a memorable treasure now it's just annoying to see on TV over and over again with no enhancements, not just that they who got rid of the CN City bumpers real fast, In the last TV bumper air just not too long ago, only bumpers remain are the puppet brak bumpers and that's it.
0:44 checkered past could be getting Fridays back so take it with a grain of salt
Hopefully in 2025 they air Futurama more
Not Exactly. It's Actually Leaving on January 11th.
@@desireesmith3925 holy shit fr?
@@Arthriticus353 Yeah. I Already Saw A Video of That.
@@desireesmith3925 where did you see it?
Oh my fucking GGGGOOOOOOOOODDDD, bro CN/[as]'s schedule fucking sucks. It's way too clogged.
It's nice to see Naruto isn't being dropped, but I hope we get more Sailor Moon.
Sure, I'm all in for Family Guy coming back to AS, but that doesn't mean making unreasonable sacrifices. And about Checkered Past losing an hour, hopefully the block doesn't go the way of NickRewind in two years. Same still goes to Cartoonito. 4:01 Also, about that, Futurama is leaving Adult Swim and getting replaced by Metalocalypss and Delocated at 4 and 4:30am on January 11.
Checkered Past was awesome at first, then CN neglected it.
It feels like 2024 lasted 5 seconds
First off I have a very love-hate relationship with checkered past because I feel like the interstitial‘s are a little offensive seeing as I grew up in the 90s and I wouldn’t want to see malls being destroyed or things of my childhood being wrecked so they should’ve marketed that better. However, I am upset to see that they’re thinking of getting rid of it because it was nice to see all of the shows that I grew up with and be able to share them with my son who also loves the block and a lot of the shows that I watched from old-school Cartoon Network. As for tonight, everyone I am upset about that. I am upset that they took out Sailor Moon because I really love Sailor Moon and I hate when they change the block so drastically so suddenly and then after that cut back on time, feels like everything they did with the original tsunami all over again. I don’t know who’s in charge and who makes these decisions, but they really suck. They know that the fan base loves watching the old school favorites and the kids from this generation absolutely love the old-school shows so I don’t understand why they would take off the block, and instead of showing more of the old-school cartoons and giving us surprises like they do in other countries, we just get the acts, no matter what I don’t understand how Cartoon Network Studios is in the The United States, and yet we always get the short end of the stick. Meanwhile, countries outside of here get to keep watching the shows we enjoy and love, and they keep getting to enjoy the shows that we want to watch here and also get the things that we actually want to watch here. Why and how does that work? What is America gonna actually get a win anywhere when it comes to watching TV and watching things that we enjoy? I think this is why a lot of people come to you too because their Contin creators that no this is a mutual frustration for many people and they know that they can put together cartoon blocks and really bring back the old-school feel of what it was when we first saw it as we were kids year-by-year season by season and they will get a lot more engagement versus watching TV. This is why cable is dying.
Also during the ACME Night breaks don’t HAVE to be Futurama
Yeah but Toonami officially confirmed that Rewind died so why would this be different for ACME Night?
Well ACME Night we had fun watching movies, but now, it's time to for you to go.
Even if ACME Night ends, I hope CN and AS can still air movies if they’re able to
AS wasn't really into airing movies before ACME Night (besides their own movies like Yule Log and ATHFCMFT) so I doubt they'll continue to air regular theatrical movies. CN though I think will
At least ACME Night had a good run for 4 years.
I cant belive they only lasted for 5 months.
Nooooooo
