What about mixing other materials with the welding blanket, such as leather, paper, and Flex Seal? All easily accessible materials, and affordable. Even permeating the fiberglass fabric with regular latex paint might improve its performance.

Interesting, but I think what's more significant than the number of shots fired is the placement of those shots. That last one was right on the edge, which is where you're most likely to get struck from shrapnel as opposed to bullets that are hitting dead center. I'd also like to see this tested with higher velocity rifle rounds.

I’ve got some of your level 3+ in my plate carrier

I have a soft 500 grain load at @ 1630 and it dents a free hanging 3/8" Birchwood Casey ar500 plate.

Yup. I'm 6'2 256 pounds. I recently purchased a condor plate carrier at my local surplus store. On ebay i got spartan level 3 10x12 plates and it's on the way to me. also purchased soft 6x6 armor. ( next year i'll upgrade to plate side armor). I hope it fits well. I didn't do enough research before buying the plates. but glad i made the right purchase. I might have purchased the 11x14 plate because of my size.

Boooooo You are doing it completely wrong. Fiberglass resin that needs to be imbued in between each layer, making it rigid. At least watch the video. Don't just read the title "welding blanket Body armor" and assume it's just a folded up welding blanket. You guys are not doing this test justice at ALL. Do it right

You should use resin on each set of five, then put them together

For me it’s not then again I’m not lugging around an M4 carbine and 7+ mags built out on my carrier.It’s a handgun an medical gear which is much more awkward to carry if you ask me.
