Hi! I'm Kathryn Chanel, founder of Kathryn Chanel Pilates ✨ I am a comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor and Fitness Coach in beautiful San Diego, Ca. I have always had a passion for movement and hope to inspire others with my videos to find their favorite form of movement also! I have clients that are familiar with reformer Pilates but because of the limited ability of their body, are “stuck” at beginner. Would love to see a video with more interesting, maybe less classic exercises for beginners ☺️🙏
@@Yiphatable1 could you go into further detail about the body limitations so I could have a better idea of how to progress the foundational movements in the video? Adding balance/ stability challenges to any exercise moves them from beginner to intermediate & will require a lot more focus and control!
@@kathrynchanel oh yes, thank you so much for replying. Mostly elderly people with whom it’s harder to incorporate exercises with balance. So grounded, but interesting, if that makes sense

Hi there!! Great question, I get into a creative process and start to take foundational movements and see how I can create a variation of that, I also get inspiration from also great classes and see how I can tinker them to make a new variation also!
It took me a whole year to find a video on TH-cam that was advanced enough, but also had diversity and moved seamlessly into each move ! I found it !!!!! You !!! Thankyou so much I loved it

Hey there! Try heavier springs, it will require the muscle to extend a heavier load thus hopefully ending in a bigger stretch. Also, try holding the longest point of the stretch for a couple seconds more before coming out of it.. Hope this helps! 😃

Such wonderful positioning cues & describing what’s going on and why it’s helpful. As a beginner I find it really helpful. Also your slightly oblique camera angle was helpful to see foot position (sometimes trainer videos are directly side view so it’s hard to see things like angles of feet in a V.

Really dislike the newbie-mistake laughing but I do like the rest of the helpful content.
@@nannetteaustin2308 it was funny because I was clearly exaggerating, plus I had someone filming me and I’m very shy in front of a camera so more of an awkward laugh. Also, a way to encourage people not to take Pilates too serious. Try watching some of my others, I in no way am perfect in my own practice.. find humor where you can 🤍
Don't know why but it is unnerving to see this instructor laugh at a newbie mistake.

This was great, I loved switching it up. Also how you do the breathing, it helps me keep that straight because sometimes I get confused one when I should be breathing in/out.
