G'day there! I am a railfan and a video/photography editor. This is the content about filming various different types of locomotives, passenger trains, freight, private heritage railways and sometimes charter sightings on the New Zealand national rail network. I try to make the most of my goals in travelling, and edit these videos to provide high quality footages for the audience. I most often film trains around my area such as Hutt valley line and the Kapiti line in the Wellington region, and the North Island's main trunk. I upload at least once a month. This special video contains a compilation of the best railfanning clips in the Wellington rail network over the past few months, spanning from the end of ther year 2023, through autumn and all the way to Winter of 2024. However, I spent most of my time away overseas during Summer time in New Zealand. Winter in Europe contrasting with Summer in New Zealand. Some uncommon sightings are featured in this video, and looking back at these shots overtime is reminiscing about the best moments during my time railfanning.

DFB 7023 returns to the North Island!

The DFB that is allocated to the South Island makes appearance on the North Island Main Trunk. After hanging around the ferry reclaim area and the exchange sidings, 7023 has momentarily been set to assist the Northern Explorer trains 200/201 as 7282 has experienced major faults. So it has also gone to Hutt Workshops to get its modifications done.

@@TheREALPoriruaTrainspotter not necessarily. Suburban network is how most Parisians get around. And high speed services like Eurostar are premium that run between London and return 30 times a day.

This is not a museum. This is a mountain railway that received four brand-new vehicles in 2023. The railway is in hibernation. The old vehicles have not yet been removed. That's why it still looks like a museum at the moment. The old stuff is still being removed.

It evokes some interest on many people about how they isolated the 12 km branch from the SNCF railways with a narrower gauge! Even narrower than what we have in NZ.

@@DFB7064geek There are many 1000mm railways in Europe. Even the SNCF line from Saint-Gervais to Vallorcine on the border with Switzerland is metre-gauge. It even has a continuation to Martigny in Switzerland. In Switzerland in particular, there are many metre-gauge lines in addition to the standard gauge. Even main lines. In the north of Spain there are very large metre-gauge networks. France also had huge networks until the 1960s. So the 3ft3in gauge is nothing rare. It exists on every continent except Oceania. apparently
