  • This video is specifically highlighting the last journey of the use of old S class Capital Connection carriages, before the new SR's enter service sometime around mid June. Thsi is the time that the S class carriage's days are numbered as they are being withdrawn out of service. The future awaits us with the new fleet of carriages for a long distance commuter service between Wellington and Palmerston north, and to everyone who hopes, these new carriages could be outstanding!
Also would like to note that I've used more energetic music other than using a sad or neutral music because everyone should feel positive about the things that will happen next!

Love this Ian. It's a shame that they are getting rid of the S class carriages. But you are right, the future awaits us.

No it is not the end. The new Capital Connection carriages (very much like the Te Huia carriages) are scheduled
to enter service in "mid June" after extensive testing. There are videos of the the new Capital Connection carriages
      under going testing on TH-cam.

Just because the old fleet of carriages are drawn out of service doesn’t mean the whole service itself ceased operations.

I have had many comfortable rides on the Capital Connection carriages.
I much prefer them to taking the bus between Palmy and Wellington.
Will the new Capital Connection cars be only a stop gap measure until
the new hybrid train sets enter service?.
