Shade, you need to react to Band-Maid's "Take Me Higher". The song has every element you want from a hard rock song including a brief bass/drum intro at the beginning. The song almost seems to be a throwback to the 70's, but not quite. I honestly think you will love it.

While Band-Maid is definitely my favorite Japanese band, their are a ton of interesting groups playing great rock music: Maximum The Hormone, Ningen Isu, Nemophila, Hanabie, and many more. Another favorite of mine is: Oh No Darkness, a bass, guitar alternative duo from Osaka who add on a drummer and rhythm guitar for shows and recording. They were hot about 5 years ago, but seem to have dropped off people's radar. I'm a Maidiac and have the Band-Maid Prime Subscription where they post demo videos. They truly want musicians to learn and play Band-Maid songs. The just posted a video of Misa playing "TAMAYA!" and it has close ups of her switching from slapping to pick and back many, many times. She's a slight of hand magician and I liken her to those street magicians that can manipulate a quarter back and forth between their knuckles. She's sponsored by Black Cloud and usually plays one of her 5 string Black Smoker basses. She has a large cabinet full of bass guitars.

Great reaction lads, I would love your joint views on Gacharic Spin and Doll$boxx as the musicians are amazing, I'd recommend Mindset, Lockon and from Doll$boxx Loud Twin Stars and Monopoly. Doll$boxx was a side project by the musicians from Gacharic Spin and the singer Fuki (now with Unlucky Morpheus) and they still tour together occaionally having just finshed a Gacha Boxx tour over Xmas and the new year.

That was biggest biggest concert Babymetal did (besides festivals?), in two consecutive days of around 55000 fans. Speaking of "Death Stare" u should watch Akatsuki from Black Night 2014 as this one, followed by Unfinished Version from Legend 97' which is also great. Bassist BOH's biggest inspiration was Billy Sheehan when he was learning to play and the performance you watched was at Budokan Tokyo was in 2014 and 1 of the 2 Babymetal world tours that followed in 2014 and 2015 BOH got to meet Billy at a festival. In 2019 or something like that, BOH and Billy were able to perform together at this same Budokan famous Japanese venue. When other guitar god Marty Friedman (former guitarist of Mega Deth, that went to life in Japan after he left) needs a fellow guitarist on his world tours, Takayoshi Ohmura (2nd in the video) is the one he will choose. This song is usually classified as Prog(ressive)metal, because the time signatures are weird. If you want to see more Kami badassery and Mikio mastery, you should react to The Hill of Wisteria by the Kari Band, which is basically the most regular line up of Kamis but divorced from BabyMetal. And then you should watch the performance of that same song by the remaining members after Mikio's passing. It's amazing and emotional. (Also, Cody needs to do this with you all the time. Mikio's (RIP) last performance was at Hiroshima in 2018. Here is the song 'No Rain No Rainbow' which really shows off his playing and Su's voice. As a fan right from the beginning this is one of their greatest performances. As others have pointed out, you have mixed up Mikio Fujioka and Takayoshi Ohmura. For reference, in the Colbert video, Mikio is on the left side of the screen. Ohmura is on the right, with the pink guitar. When Mikio passed, TO was given at least some of his guitars, and regular plays his ESP signature guitar, which is kind of salmon-colored.

Great reaction!!! No matter how many times I hear this song, it's as fresh and dynamic as any time I hear it, though there's even more energy when there's someone else digging it as well. BTW, I know I wind up the minority of elitists on Band-Maid reactions, but I'm actually a fan of Band-Maid and many other bands, in fact there's not a single Janese act I have come across I have actively disliked yet, in multiple genres, and I watching and enjoy your all your reactions no matter the band. Annoying the few remaining die-hard elitists is just a bonus.

No, No, No...Mikio was not at this concert...the first guitarist is Leda Cygnus (sweep picking) and the second (the one you thought was Mikio) is Takayoshi Ohmura. Takayoshi was also in Marty Friedman's Band (formerly of Megadeath) while simultaneously playing in the Kami Band. There have been many players in the Kami band, but of the guitar players, Mikio, Takayoshi, Leda and Isao are probably the 4 best known and most often seen on Video. And of course BOH on Bass. And this is Babymetal's Darkest song, Lyrically, since it is about fleeing in terror and eludes to the protagonists death in the end. Thanks for the perspective and as always.... If you are into BASS, you should definitely see Gacharic Spin. I highly recommend this Japanese female band for their fun and great technique. The first thing I want you to see is the music video for the song “MindSet”. You will see how great the female bassist of this band is. Next is “[Live] Gacharic Spin ‘TAMASHII’ 2019”, which I think will surprise you and show you how much fun it is. I used a translation software because my English is not good.
