Disclaimer: I do not know what content will be on this year’s exam paper, nor do I work for Eduqas. I am just a teacher / ex-examiner trying to help Sociology students better understand the format of the exam paper and how they could attempt to answer it. The suggestions I give in this video are just the ways I would go about answering the questions and are by no means the only ways to do so.
I hope you found something helpful in there! If you learn something from the video, be a pal and like, subscribe and share it! :-) You can also find me on insta, twitter, facebook, spotify and iTunes by searching 'allsociology', or if you fancy buying me a beer, you can do so by dropping me a super like in the comments, or by going over to patreon.com/allsociology
Finally, good luck to everybody sitting their GCSE Sociology Paper 2 exam! I’ll be thinking of you!

There’s a lot of key terms that you could be asked about - and far too many to cover in just one video, so if you use the playlists for Crime and Strat-Diff, you’ll see that for each video, towards the end I cover off the key terms that are covered in each topic. For example: if you go to 15:30 in this vid (th-cam.com/video/kqkvq7K5p3I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mfALHneImD-_Cp8r) I run through all the key terms relating to strat-diff, like equality, poverty, power, representation etc. Hope that helps you?! ✌️

    What should I write if I get a question on globalisation

    • @allsociology
      @allsociology 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. They could only ask you about globalisation and poverty (afaik), and it wouldn’t be a large question as there’s not much to say. However, you’d want to think about the way that companies might look to outsource work, eg factories to other countries where labour costs are cheaper. This could result in the decline of industrial jobs in the UK (deindustrialisation), resulting in areas suffering greater levels of unemployment. This is a bit of a threat to communities where one company provides a lot of employment for local people, eg steel works in south wales or car production in other areas. You could then link this to Marxism, suggesting that the owners of these means of production (the companies / Bourgeoisie) are doing this purely to increase their own profits to the detriment of the local people. I hope that gives you an idea of something you could write. I very much doubt that it would be anything more than a 4 mark question, mind. ✌️

    hi sir! can we criticise setting by saying that marketization means that educational triage takes place in school. this means that the borderline children (mainly wc) will be given more attention and thus compensates their disadvantage within the education system because they are given support to boost their achievement?

      @@user-sq9qu7cz8k Mainly because I'm pretty confident that I've covered all the bases with all the videos I've already done. There's only a certain amount of stuff you can be asked, and if you've watched all the vids, you'll be ready for pretty much anything they ask you tomorrow. The other reason is that these videos take a seriously long time to make - I'm talking multiple hours to pull all the stuff together, make them look half-decent, check them for accuracy and then record/upload them. I also have a full time job as a teacher and it's mock / exam season so I'm already pulling daft hours after work and at weekends just making sure my students get the feedback they deserve. But... I'm genuinely interested to know - what would you like a 2024 video on? Any feedback greatly appreciated!
