- In this, the final episode in this series of GCSE Sociology revision videos, I focus on sociological research methods and cover off some key terms; practical, ethical and theoretical issues; the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative and qualitative methods, and show how you to answer a typical essay question.
The video is aimed at GCSE Sociology students but will also be useful as a recap to those studying at a higher level, particularly if you’re new to the subject. It’s 28 mins long. I hope it’s helpful for you!

I have my gcse sociology paper 1 tomorrow I’m very drained from the subject and wish I could drop out but I guess it’s too late now 😃so I’ve decided to watch some of ur videos to help me with last min revision
UPDATE: after failing and getting 3s all yr round I got a 6 🥹thank you so much for ur help bc Lord knows how many times I wanted to quit the subject but it was too late

@@appleheadslatte I used Seneca and made flashcards and used these videos for any extra information I may have missed if you think it’s too late to use flashcards you can always do blurting instead

I was a 4 in yr 10 and a 3 constantly for my y11 mocks and until last month by watching ONE video I got a 5?! @@icecubelore2861 Tbf and without sounding like a cliche, everyone is on their own journey with Sociology. Some people find it straightforward, whereas others find it a real struggle. The OP improved their grade and that's the most important thing - certainly for me, anyway!

I’ve never really needed to revise sociology only ever gotten 8’s and 9’s in it however research methods is my weakness and this has summed it up beautifully for me thank you ❤

These videos are really helping me remember key theories that I need to remember! could you do a video on exam technique and how to answer questions where it mentions needing to include knowledge of sociologist perspective? i find that my exam technique isn't good and would really appreciate if you could make a video on this at some point. Sir, what does T-T-P stands for? (17:26)
Hey, so if you go to 7:40 in the video I explain the P.E.T analysis you can use for discussing methods. P = practical factors; E = ethical factors and T = theoretical factors.
So TTP in that instance means two theoretical factors and a practical factor. ✌️

I’m not keen on predictions, but if you look at previous essay questions, you’re very likely be either be asked about sociological theory’s views on family / education / crime, or be asked to consider factors that have affected changes in family / who achieves or underachieves at school / reasons for higher rates of crime relating to class, gender or age. No promises though, but if I was in your position, I’d make sure I knew those things!! All the best of luck for the rest of your revision - and of course, the exams themselves! ✌️

This stuff is based on the eduqas gcse course, but it’s applicable to aqa as well ✌️

@@allsociology it’s also applicable to the sociology course WJEC is offering with eduqas. This basically means that your videos are exceptionally helpful for Anyone in Wales doing sociology!

Yes, 100%! A lot of the content is the same, just ignore anything I say about exam questions towards the end of the videos as those bits are specific to Eduqas. Good luck with your revision!! ✌️
